OK, you talked me in to it, I'll be there, seeing as I've got nothing better to do
You definately don't want to camp there overnight. Maybe get there in the morning but stay away from there during the night. It's the little kiddies you have to watch, they are a law unto themselves, the law can't touch them and they know it. |

yeah you're right, Colin. On a lighter note, I can't decide where to stay, hostel or hotel? Arghhh. I always stay in hostels cause they're cheaper and generally more fun, but I'm thinking about staying in Liverpool for four nights, so maybe I'll appreciate the privacy of the hotel. I'm between the YHA hostel and Formule 1 Hotel which are practically next to each other, close to the Albert Dock. I have stayed in the YHA before and it was fab but it's too restrictive when there are other people in the room and you have to be quiet etc. |

well my intention is too be there till my hosts kick me out. but mostly i will hopefully see some old friends and family. i will be taking the anfield museum tour with jayne, she has always wanted to do it. i will do the walker i always do, when i lived there i was always in and out of there. i think you can do st'georges hall been in there a few times but that was just when the old crown courts where there. i might do the beatles museum but will probably decide for aphrodite's instead. |

I think I put my name down as I thought it was 'who has Liverpool tickets?' It will depend on who I go with to the event. My aim is to completely enjoy Liverpool. This is going to cost me a fortune, in fact it has meant I can't go on holiday and see my sister now. If I see you all it will be great, but I can't promise anything until I know what I am doing. I don't want to let people down but I also don't want to be tied down with commitments which I may be unable to commit to. Anyhow, like Camden, many may wish to queue up (those who are standing) well before the show to ensure they get a great view, so meeting before as discussed may not work. |

Wow...that is SOME list. Now I just have to get to work on all the details...I hope we can find a hotel. A before or after meet up doesn't make too much of a difference to me...but I suppose after might be easier...and we could settle in for a good chat without having to leave!

The Ship & Mitre is the only pub I know reasonably well. They have a function room and they have been voted Pub Of The Year on 8 out of the last 10 years. But they have great beers with great names, and even some with very Risqué names, some typical examples of funny names for beers have been 'Two Dogs Balls' and 'Blow Job', I know someone who actually asked for the latter  List of other typical names http://www.shipandmitre.co.uk/nov_04.php |

I need advice. Here is what I'm thinking of doing. I want to go to Scotland. I'm going to fly Iceland Air and stay over in Iceland for a day or two. I can fly out of Minneapolis and fly back from London. So, what train do I take from Glasgow to London and then from London to Liverpool? How do we get to Anfield from the city centre? Can Jayne drive if we pitch in for to rent a van? |

Do you specifically want to go to London in between Glasgow and Liverpool? If not, you could travel from Glasgow Central to Liverpool Lime Street on Virgin Trains, changing at Wigan North Western. That cuts out 400 miles if you don't need to go London inbetween. |

Hello Olia! Seating is in the seats that you would normally sit in when watching a football match. As there is no football the pitch is free so you can stand on it. That will mean that one side of stadium will be taken by stage. |

it is a vibrant and colourful place and I see no reason why you should dislike it. Seaside, pier, nightlife, beautiful town. I'd live there again in a second. |

I booked my hotel! Sheesh, it took me 3 hours to find a place that offered a non-smoking room with more than one double bed! But I did it! It'll cost me, but aw heck...this is a once in a lifetime event for me!!!! I'll be in Liverpool on May 31st and June 1st. Next week I'm going to my travel agent and try to plan the rest of my trip. Hubby and I will probably make a "real" trip out of it and visit Scotland, Ireland and London while we're over on "your" side of the world! I can't stinkin' believe I'm gonna be in LIVERPOOL to see PAUL!!! (I need the "banana dance" icon! LOL!) |

I wonder if there will be another batch of tickets for sale? There must be the premium seats left over after the upgrades and tickets that were allocated to people who didn't want as many as they received. Is only 2nd November and I am broke. This has already cost me £408 I'm too embarrassed to admit this to people.

but Paul in Liddypool is worth it in the end
of course I dont need to book hotels or train/airplane travel (which i defo would if he was elsewhere thats why i like locals seeing him locally so no extra expense people have to spare
gotta say though - i know why hotels are putting up their prices (profit is their main aim at end of day) that is why I try to direct peope to outside city centre :hmm: saveaway tickets which last well over 12 hours on certain days (esp weekends) will take you all over the merseyside region - ill try and find a site to show you about local tickets

Well, here's another clue for you all, the Walrus was Paul...
|
Finally. We booked our hotel in Liverpool...and London. I feel so much better now. Still working on the flight... Does anyone know anything about the Liverpool Marriott Hotel City Centre? How far is it from the stadium? And what is the best way to get from London...to Liverpool? Sorry for all the lame questions...I feel so bewildered. |

The hotel isn't very far from the stadium, although it isn't exactly walking distance. There are buses and a taxi fair shouldn't be too bad for this distance. The best way to get to Liverpool from London is by train. http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/default.aspx |

Rose I don't know much about the Marriott in the City Centre but I am staying there too. I think there is a bus from the same road as our hotel straight to the stadium. |

There should be extra transport put on that day to get to Anfield esp with it being Sunday service. I know from city centre its the No14 bus to Croxteth that goes along Breck Road and you get off after Iceland (the store ;)) Anfield is just up the road from the traffic lights. I am going to have a word with some people I know and see if I can get a minibus for a few days - it would only be max 17 seater though Linda - some of the hotels near me are cheaper but like Andy said Bed & Breakfast's are not that bad. From St Helens trains go straight into Lime Street - takes approx 30 minutes (and that includes all the stops). here aswell is information regarding saveaways cheap day tickets |

Can I register for a seat? Last time I was in Liverpool alone and tried to go to Goodison Park, I ended up in Anfield, then got harassed and then got lost So I'm afraid that if I try going to Anfield I'll end up in Goodison and I don't want that

sure
Goodison is easier to find than Anfield - Anfield is off the main road and in the middle of an estate
where Goodison is along the main road.

come on add your name

With the hotel bills added to that this is going to cost me with everything added together around £500. I have never spent this money on something like this before. But I'm a fan and I'm sure its a once in a lifetime opportunity.
