Did you dial this number? 011 44 1629 592700

International Dialing Codes

Yeah. At first I didn't know to dial the 011, but after I called around I finally got it.

It's just doesn't seem to work for me...Maybe it's my phone.

That's exactly what I thought!

I'm willin gto fly alone, I've never been on a plane before but I'm sure I could handle it.

well planes are easy to deal with, I've been flying on them alone since I was 13 (granted not as long a distance, but its a pretty generic experice really) How long do u think u would be over here for if u came?

Hopefully a week, maybe less. From 29 May to maybe 4 June.

I'm flexible on dates if they don't have any available.

trust me, you will be fine around Liverpool, its just initial nerves, and there are gonna be loads of Macca fans about so it will be cool, once u get there you will love it and plus you will have the freedom to do your own thing and not have to please another person.... this is me speaking us someone who actually prefers traveling alone ;)

since you speak English is not a big deal.

I had to travel 14 hours Sao Paulo - Dallas and I didnt understand anything, I didnt know how to use the telephone to call my husband.

if I didnt asked for help to the immigration I would still be at the airport

:D wow thanks very much, I love my sig too  its funny that you said that though coz everytime I see you post I have meant to say I love that pic of Paul, its awesome

yeah, I know what u mean it being weird going by yourself, even when I first went to London myself and thats not to far away (although it is is still foreign :P ) I was a bit cautious but now I just do it, Paris was another weird place to go alone and I couldnt even speak the language, but I met people and had a good time in the end, but you just have to do what is right for you, but make sure that if u dont come that u dont regret not coming ;)

I guess the main reason I don't want to go by myself is because my mother has instilled in me that everyone in any foreign place is out to take full advantage of me and my money, as well as not knowing where to go.

not everyone but certainly quite a few will try it on, so your mother knows best.

Yes, but I dont think people are like that in England.

I hope you find a mate to go, because it is very boring to stay inside the airplane.

I just can tell you for sure if I will go or not next month.

well of course, you do have to watch for that, no doubt people even on this board may well be like that, its the same where ever u go, but u have to make your own choices and judgements, if u live in fear all the time u wont get anything done

Well taking lisa to the Walker Art gallery , i always go there, culture vulture dani can tag along. visit relatives well just a couple, i aint met half of them. visit my great grandfathers grave not far from Colin's, home that is not his grave. Probably the maritime museum and a couple of others, yes when i travelled to away games i visited the local musuems and catherdrals. hit the town a couple of nights if my mates wife is away as we are hoping she is.

Oh and take someone's hubby to a seedy dance establishment if she wants to shopping and stuff.

but apart from relative's it will all be city centre based must asked me mum if i was ever on the ferry as a kid, certainly not a as a teenager nor adult. and get around hopefully to visit the catherdral as i have been in the wigwam but not the catherdral.

Yes there is the Anfield musuem.

but seriously the Walker is generally acknowledged as the best art galley outside of London, of course there is the Tate but you wouldnt see me dead in it. the city centre is actually very compact but then again that was when i could walk normally and i used to walk very fast. But i tend to jump a taxi alot in liverpool much cheaper than down here.

I must look up the St Georges Hall and see if there are tours in it, as i was in it many a times for the court downstairs but not in the main rooms which are beautiful and now completely restored.

me and the aussie girls I met decided there wasnt much of a club life for youngest, everywhere we went seemed to involve middle age people...obviously going to the wrong places, although our night in Walkabout was interesting

A thought...

Do you think I should just book the YHA now for just me, because it is a shorter time than I had planned? And then maybe stay overnight in London or Wirral?

Jillian, I think you should book your room ASAP before you find yourself sleeping on the streets. :P

I have never felt unsafe in London or Liverpool, but I've stayed in tourist areas. I do not like Paris. I almost got raped along the River Seine in a tourist area. Some Americans came to my rescue or the french guy would have raped me. I don't like going places alone where I don't know the language.

Another place that you might want to visit is Otterspool, quite nice there during a summers day.

These pictures are out of date because they've recently renovated it, those railings aren’t there anymore, they've installed better looking railings, and they've put in new benches, a big improvement on the old ones so you might just want to sit there and watch the day go by, or watch the boats go by. You sometimes see the odd yacht or the odd speedboat go by.

Jillian - I'll be in Liverpool with family that I will be trying to avoid. I'll happily walk around with you and go places etc if you want. It's true, we'll all be a ring away really.
You don't have to worry, there will be many people about.

I'm just glad I am going to a place where they do speak English. If it were Paris, I would not go without someone who spoke French.

I just booked my room in the YHA from the 30 May to 3 Tuesday...I'm thinking I may stay the 29th in London and the 4th-5th in Wirral or Manchester.

Any thoughts?

It's about 3 miles from Liverpool city centre, you can get a local train from Liverpool Central Station to Aigburth Station, it's probably about a 5 minute train ride, then you turn left out of the staion, just a 5 minute walk from there.

Don't go to Rainy Manchester, there's nothing there, and it's a very long and boring train ride.

well I have said before Chester is now in the 'zone' when you get a ALL ZONE savaway up here now ;) you can only use it on the train direct to chester and no other public transport arund the area but still its nice area I agree - whats that park called where squirrels come and feed out of your hand ??

I went to Chester only once a long, long time ago. I was about 14, I suppose, and it really seemed like a lovely place to visit. I was only there for a couple of hours, but made my mind up to come back when I had more time. I still haven't. :P
