so your not working tonight then George lol
Well just picked the witches up from their holiday club and they loved every minute in Liverpool today. They got goodie bags with pencil cases, t-shirts but for taking part in the parade they recieved 'backstage artist' passes and a Liverpool 800th Birthday Commemorative coin which as this little leaflety inside "A time line threads thorugh the design, starting with the Liver bird, representative of King John's Charter, and ending with a growing plant symbolic of renewal and hope for the future. The thread picks up other significant events in the life of the city Following the liver bird, the line leads to the ancient coastline and the orginal 'pool' inlet and Chapel of St Mary del Key built around 1257, which today stands the Church of Our Lady and St Nicholas. The thread then continues with the outline of Liverpool Castle said to be built by William de Ferrers, Earl of Derby. Little is known of the early years of the castle but in 1347 it is noted the castle having four towers. The continuous line then reflects Liverpool's Maritime history with the outline of a sailing ship. This is connected to a shackled hand representing the city's significant involvement in the Transatlantic slave trade, abolished in 1807. A trade that enabled the port to grow with the arrival of cotton sugar and tobacco. The line continues with the famous Liverpool skyline, lit up during the Blitz by searchlights and fires caused by the German Bombers. The thread then leads to the shape of a guitar reflecting the 60's cultural revival. this leads to an outline of a ford anglia, symbolic of car manufacturing in the city. And finally to the plant symbolic of renewal and hope for the future"

I'm just going to stay at the Albert Dock, well Salthouse Dock actually, I'm hoping they're not going to close it off completely. I'm just going to concentrate on the Liver Buildings. I thought about going over the water, but I'll just syay on this side of the river. By the way, you don't want to go to Prince's Parade, the veiw is spoilt by all the building work. |

There yer go Peter, one better lad Liverpool 4, Toulouse 0 LIVERPOOL celebrated the city’s 800th birthday with the annual present of Champions League qualification. The lessons of previous close calls at home to Grazer and CSKA Sofia were finally heeded as Rafael Benitez’s side swatted aside a limited Toulouse side to unlock a £12million treasure chest by progressing to the lucrative group stages. |

lol boy bet he was chuffed. in the late seventies and early eighties we used to walk in the players enterance before mustering on the pitch, so saw Mr. Paisley a few times he always had a smile and a hello for us and a word for the Inspector. Used to touch the sign before going out on the pitch. they broke the mold when they made Bob. My ex brother in law qualified for the birtish golf professional finals at royal birkdale one year. He went up with a scottish professional from down here a couple of days before the start and tells ian he had arranged a round with a couple of members. Well the members turn up and one is Kenny Danglish did the soft shite get his autograph did he hell. the same bugger had the Ryder Cup in his house for two nights when he was captain of the Hampshire PGA did he tell me or the old man did he hell. Saw jimmy down at the Dell manys a time. Being a pro at a southampton golf course Ian and my nephrew have known most of the players at saints for the last 20 years or more. |
