Sing the Changes
Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison to
join

Guy Laliberté in dedication to John Lennon & George Harrison

Larry King to broadcast his show LIVE from The Beatles REVOLUTION
Lounge at The Mirage

LAS VEGAS - On June 26, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono
Lennon, Olivia Harrison and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté
will all take part in a special dedication ceremony in honor of John
Lennon and George Harrison.

In May 2006 during rehearsals for LOVE, Paul McCartney and Guy
Laliberté discussed how best to recognize John Lennon's and George
Harrison's contributions to the show. Subsequently, Cirque du Soleil
designers created two plaques that will be unveiled on June 26 and
then permanently displayed in the LOVE Theatre lobby at The Mirage.

This event celebrates the one-year anniversary of LOVE and coincides
with the 40th anniversary of the Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club
Band album. Following the ceremony, Larry King will interview Paul,
Ringo, Yoko, Olivia and Guy for his one hour broadcast from The
Beatles REVOLUTION Lounge at The Mirage in Las Vegas. Larry King
Live airs on CNN at 9pm ET, 6pm PT. The distinguished guests will
then attend a special one year anniversary performance of LOVE.

In the past year, LOVE has played to sold-out audiences, some of
whom have discovered The Beatles music and their message of love for
the first time. Celebrity guests such as George Clooney, Tom Cruise
& Katie Holmes, Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban, Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson
have all seen LOVE and raved about their experience.

LOVE celebrates the musical legacy of The Beatles and is presented
exclusively at The Mirage in Las Vegas. The project was born out of
a personal friendship and mutual admiration between George Harrison
and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté.

Sorry Linda - Mike made another thread in the 'You Can Talk To Me' section, so I moved it to here... and then I saw that you'd made a thread too. The only way I could keep a valid link to Mike's thread in the YCTTM section was to merge your thread into his, otherwise it would show as a broken link when you clicked on the 'moved' thread in the YCTTM section. Normally, the thread created second would be merged into the first one, but in this instance it wasn't possible. ;)

I loved it too...its so wonderful to see Ringo and Paul together. I wish we would see more of that. I really REALLY want to go see LOVE. Hopefully sometime in Sept/Oct... I got a bit emotional when Paul talked about people coming up to him on the street and telling him that it was 'all about the music' and 'you saved my life'. I know I have said this before but I am one of those people whose life was saved by the Beatles and their music. :sweet:

Even if Larry called Ringo "George", I enjoyed it. I can't remember a sit down interview on television with Ringo and Paul. Could have been some better questions, but it was fun to watch.

I will be seeing LOVE on Sunday and Monday.

I thought Ringo was tense for the first half of the show, period, but seemed to relax as the interview went on. Having said that, those inpenetratable shades he was wearing made it very difficult to see what was going on in his eyes.

Ringo has developed a little bit of an American accent as well. Did anyone else know that he lived mainly in Monte Carlo and not L.A.?

Larry King is, without doubt, one of the worst interviewers I have ever seen. Perhaps he was better when he was younger, but by journalistic standards, I thought he was poor. Having said that, I enjoyed watching the show a lot. ;)

I did know that Ringo is a tax exile and lives in Monte Carlo. I wrote him there and actually got a response. Sent it by Fedex so I could track it. ;) I knew he had homes in LA and London. My response had a London postmark on it.

I think when Paul is in the US, he has a bit of an American accent. Ringo definitely does.

I don't know why people think there was tension. I think they were joking around with each other, just like they used to do with all four of them back in the 60's. If anything they were getting along better then expected... I think anyway...

And Paul and Yoko? Yoko said that she was glad such a wonderful man "pointing at Paul" was presenting a plague to John.

I guess everyone has different opinions though, as usual. I just didn't see any tension of any sort. I think they got along very well.

I loved Ringo's answer (and subtle put down) when he trotted out the "You don't have to do this any more," line:

"Neither do you! This is what we do"

The only difference is, Paul and Ringo are still good at what they do!

Larry is losing it. Despite his horrible, inappropriate questions, Paul and Ringo had a good time with it all and sort of ran the interview themselves.

Larry lost it a long time ago. Neither Ringo or Paul have lost it and they ran that show despite the efforts of Larry King. I was told that our lads didn't talk to Larry during the commercial breaks. They talked to each other. Smart men.

I agree with the majority who think Larry was terrible at interviewing them, i also was a little annoyed at the fact that he had the nerve to hit Paul with his notes after Paul embarrassed him over calling Ringo George. Paul did seem a little p*ssed off with Larry and it kinda came to a head there.

"He got your name wrong Ringo!"

The best part was the end when they showed Larry introducing his son (i think it was anyway) to Paul and Paul just basically snubbing him and walking on up the stairs, did you see how Larry pushed Paul's shoulder to draw his attention to his son? *shakes head* i don't think he'll get Paul or Ringo on his show again.

Larry is a horrible interviewer...there he is with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr...and he not only plugs his upcoming Paris Hilton interview (Ok, I realize thats part of the job) but he swats at Paul with his papers...and says "You might have heard of her"...of course...Paul just shook his head NO. Way to GO.

Definitely - it was the old trick of 'closing ranks' against outsiders, against people who simply didn't understand and Larry really fitted that description.

I think perhaps it annoys Beatles fans so much because you can only imagine what you'd ask Paul & Ringo if you had an hour long interview show with them. I'm thinking that we'd probably get Ringo's name right as well...

heh yea I saw it on youtube as well.

At first I had thought there was tension bewteen the two lads, but then I had realized it was the interviewer itself that they were tense with. :giggle:

All four of them look pretty good as well.
I could have done without the insensitive questions though.
And if I were paul, I would have tooken larry's notes and swatted him back.
Or just simply pull a John and be like "So how long do you think you'll last?" or something like that..heh.

Maybe perhaps Ringo's shades are his glasses? Who knows, but I wouldn't mind if he took them off once n awhile! I miss his baby blues.
But of course, my eyes were else where *points at paul*
