Happy Christmas From Strawberry Fields To all of the Strawberry Fields members, On behalf of the Strawberry Fields team as well as from Fiona and myself, we'd like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a very happy, healthy, prosperous 2009. Whatever luck this year has brought you, good or bad, we'd like to thank those who have posted at Strawberry Fields and shared a little - or a lot - of yourselves with all of us there. As a community, even the most infrequent visitor enriches our site just that little bit more, so thank you for helping to make the Strawberry Fields Forum a continuing success. This section is for those who went to Liverpool in June: From all of the SF team who were at Liverpool, we'd like to give a hearty thanks to everyone who went to the Liverpool meet-up, some flying thousands of miles for the event. It was a delight and an honour to meet everyone and I'm sure that the whole extended weekend, for those who went, will definitely be one of the highlights of the year - it certainly was for us. This section is for those who didn't go to Liverpool in June: Meh, it wasn't that great. You didn't miss much at all. It was cold, it rained and the whole thing cost a lot of money. Paul fluffed his lines on "A Day In The Life". In fact, you probably enjoyed it more watching it at home on your computers or on TV. Ah, who am I kidding? It was great! But for those who couldn't make it, there will, hopefully, be a next time. There are a lot of people who have known each other for a long time on this board and I'm well aware that the newbies who have joined recently may feel a little left out at the moment. However, I joined the Macca board back in 2004 and didn't know anyone - and, at that point, there were people there who had known each other for years... and now, after several years of solid conversation, I have all of these crazy Beatles fans I call friends - so, if you're feeling like you don't quite fit in yet, give it time. Maybe that's part of what 2009 will bring for you? Anyway, whatever the New Year brings for you - and we hope it is peace, love and happiness - be sure to come and share your year with us. With love and thanks, Andy (JeffLynnesBeard) Administrator & Moderator Strawberry Fields Forum on behalf of the Strawberry Fields team: Bill (Bill - Strawberry Fields Radio MC), Clare (FamousGroupie - Moderator), Irene (iscreamer1 - Moderator), Lisa (Jacaranda - Administrator & Moderator) and Lisa (retrollama - Moderator). Have a wonderful Christmas! http://s3.zetaboards.com/Strawberry_Fields/index/ |

I love Festivus. My friend on another forum posted a Happy Festivus greeting in my thread, and I posted the SNL cowbell skit in hers. :giggle: It's kind of an ongoing joke between us. Anyway, lovely letter. For some reason I never receive e-mails from the board, even though I have it set so I should. And Andy is right, it takes time to build friendships. I look forward to getting to know all of you better. Edited by Mindy, Dec 25 2008, 08:06 PM.

January 2009 Newsletter From Strawberry Fields Forum Hello and Happy New Year from the Strawberry Fields team! Well, it's 2009. Hope everyone had a very pleasant holiday season and for those of you now back at work or school, hope you're not suffering too much. This year so far, on the forum, has seen the results of the Annual Board Awards published, a new episode of Strawberry Fields Radio released, a picture of Paul McCartney and his beau, Nancy, sunning themselves in swim wear posted, the news that Michael Jackson wants to leave the Beatles songs to Paul in his will and the discovery of John Lennon's MBE in a royal vault in St. James' Park... and the year is only six days old! For those of you interested in new music, I'm currently doing my annual countdown of my albums of the past year in the 'Lonely Hearts Club Bands' section. Please feel free to drop in and comment and also share your favourite music of 2008 with us. There are threads for your favourite movies of last year and also to talk about 2008 in general in 'You Can Talk To Me' – come along and tell us what made your year special or a year to forget. Quite recently, the forum's total post count clicked over the 400,000 mark which, for an independent Beatles forum with under 500 members, is fantastic and a testament to our dedicated core of 'regulars'. However, there is no such thing as too many members, so if you know of any friends on other networking sites or message boards then please invite them along. We had a nice lot of new people register last year who are now part of the Strawberry Fields family and we're always happy to welcome more. So, out with the old, in with the new. The SF team wish you all good health, luck, happiness and everything positive over this coming year and we're looking forward to seeing you all at Strawberry Fields in 2009! Best wishes, Andy (JeffLynnesBeard) Administrator The board: http://s3.zetaboards.com/Strawberry_Fields/index/ The radio show: http://strawberryfields.podomatic.com/ The daily trivia quiz: http://my.funtrivia.com/tournament/Strawberry-Fields-Trivia-Challenge-69768.html |

I hope to continue sending out a monthly news letter but will hold off a bit as my hands are pretty full right now learning how to be an admin. Don't they have a *dumb* book on how to keep the sanity? :innocent:  |
