Today marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope.

I dedicate this thread in its memory. So, like...

Where were you in May 1977? Do you remember seeing the film at the movies/cinema?

I myself was in my mummy's tummy.

Cheers,
Trev.

I would have been nearly two years old. :P

I saw this film when it came on TV for the first time, which was probably a couple of years after it's cinema release - I loved it. ^_^

For anyone with Sky/Cable TV in the UK, the Sci-Fi/Horror Movie channel are showing all three original Star Wars films today.

Yesterday was Episodes I, II & III and I'm almost ashamed to say that Fiona and I watched all three of them. :D
...and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

That's no shame Andy...I have had a little marathon myself a few months ago when I watched all six episodes in a day or three :innocent: :)

I was a bit too young to be swept up in the Star Wars mania at that time (actually in 1977 I wasn't even born yet, and wouldn't be for another couple of years), but I remember at the time Episode 1 was released they showed all three other episodes and I was hooked then! :P

In 1977 my father was still married and had not yet reached the stage where he was willing to knock up a total stranger he met in a bar.

As for the "Star Wars" movies, I am not very religious, so I never really had any interest.

I was 4 years old when it came out (turning 5 in October). I saw the movie when it first came out with my parents. This was the very first movie I saw in the movie theater.
