You know the old saying "one thing leads to another"?? Well, to prove it, I was researching "cat farts" (don't ask -- it's a matter of self preservation!) and I ran across what is possibly the grossest webpage, complete with photos, that I have ever seen!!
I mean, I know it's good to be informed and all that, but sometimes certain topics just don't require graphic photos to get a point across. A few polite descriptions added to my own imagination will suffice, thank you very much!!

 Bev, it didn't look all that disgusting to me...but then maybe I am jaded. Working where I do in a vitamin store, we sell a LOT of colon cleansers, they seem to be the 'in' thing right now, touted by all the health food gurus. You'd be amazed at how many are into this sort of thing! Basically all they are, are psylleum fiber and herbs. One kit comes with 2 DVD's! Why? I have no idea! Merry

Yuck, I don't cope well with that sort of thing!
However, I am very open to the possibilities of detoxes and colon cleansers!

I have a girlfriend who has a 6 year old daughter and she does a monthly cleanse on both of them every month. She has been doing this to her daughter before she was even one year old. I don't think she should be doing this to her......she has this cleansing thing that drives us all batty. |

Aren't there any sort of recommended guidelines for colon cleansers, like an age one should meet or how often it should be used? And, Bev, can I think it's cute that you declared it the scariest webpage ever?

I've seen much scarier pages than that. External bowel prolapses, anyone? |

Fiona, I wouldn't recommend colon cleansers be used on children. I think most of the packages state that they should only be used on those over 18. Although they aren't as harsh as laxatives, they are designed to clear out the colon, and I don't think it's necessary for a child. As far as how often they are used, I would think on occasion, but there are people coming in that purchase them regularly. That and "Smooth Move" tea! http://www.tealand.com/SmoothMove.asp Some take it to extremes! Merry
