1. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one ability or quality, what would it be?

self-esteem (and the ability to speak many languages).

2. If you could use a voodoo doll to hurt any one person you choose, would you?

yes.

3. If you were able to live to 90 and retain either the body or the mind of a 30 year old for the last 60 years of your life, which one would you want?

if I was to live this long I certainly wouldn't manage with my mind being the way it is. I would go with body, my brain is giving me a hard time and 23 years are enough already.

4. Would you rather be extremely successful professionally and a have a tolerable yet unexciting private life, or have an extremely happy private life and only a tolerable and unexciting professional life?

a happy private life. Although I think that if you are extremely successful in your job and you are interested in it too (otherwise you wouldn't have this great success), part of this elevates your private life too.

5. Are there people you envy enough to want to trade lives with them?

it's not envy as much as preference.

6. When did you last sing to yourself or to someone else?

a few hours ago.

7. While parking late at night, you scrape the side of an expensive new car. You are certain no one else is aware of what happened and the damage appeared to be minor, would you leave a note?

I feel weird about this question, because normally I would feel extremely guilty and certainly leave a note to the owner with my number so we can arrange things. On the other hand, I really dislike ridiculously expensive cars and, usually, their owners most of all. I fear that a part of me would be glad. I am evil. I am now torn.

8. How do you react when people sing happy birthday to you in a restaurant?

I am happy to never have been part of this sort of situation. I dislike it enough when they sing it to me at home.

9. If you walked out your door one morning and saw a bird with a broken wing huddled in a nearby bush, what would you do?

try to get a vet or someone who can help it

10. If a friend were almost always late, would you resent it or simply allow for it? Can you be counted on to be on time?

I am always on time, at least I try to be. I hate to keep people waiting, and in fact I like arriving early/ first. Being constantly late is something that I don't like in people. I do have a friend who is practically never on time, not once; I have told her off but it's just something she does so I don't count on her when we arrange to meet and it's the only occassion when I don't feel guilty if I am late myself, because I know that I'll be waiting for thirty minutes anyway.

11. If you could have free, unlimited service for five years from an extemely good cook, chauffeur, housekeeper, masseuse, or personal secretary, which would you choose?

masseuse. My back is killing me and it has been for the past three years.

12. Do you feel ill at ease going alone to either dinner or a movie? What about going on vacation by yourself?

Not only do I not feel ill at ease, but I love/ prefer it. I do lots of things alone and yes I have even travelled abroad alone more than once and had a wonderful time.

13. Is it easy for you to accept help when you need it? Will you ask for help?

If I need it and there is no other way out, I ask for it.

14. Is there something you've dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven't you done it?

I have been dreaming of travelling all around the world. I haven't done it yet because I am not a member of the royal family nor am I related to Paul McCartney which means the funding of my adventures is limited for now. I am going wherever I can afford to go, whenever I can afford it.

15. What are your most compulsive habits? Do you regularly struggle to break these habits?

I can't leave my lips alone. Doing things to them until they bleed gives me extreme pleasure. I try to stop by applying lip balm sixteen hundred times a day, but I am not always successful.

16. What do you most strive for in your life: accomplishment, security, love, power, excitement, knowledge or something else?

peace of mind.

17.(a) Do you usually make special effort to thank someone who does you a favor?
(B) How do you react when you aren't thanked for going out of your way for someone?

(a) I always feel obliged.
(B) I feel like I won't bother again. How rude.

18. If you were at a friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner and found a dead bug in your salad, what would you do?

if I was very close with this friend I would tell them there and then that there is a disgusting thing in my food which should not be there. If I was not so close I might have been so embarrassed that I would say I am not hungry anymore and not touch anything else.

19. When you do something ridiculous, how much does it bother you to have other people notice and to laugh at you?

way too much. I get extremely self-conscious, usually after I have said or done something stupid, which doesn't really help. I don't mind being laughed at for something silly, say falling over or saying a wrong word or something. Usually I am afraid I might say something and come off as rude without realising it. I almost dread that, especially because people will rarely tell you they think you've been rude so you can't even apologise.

20. Do you find it difficult to say "no", so much so that you usually do favors for others you don't want to do? If so, why?

I have issues with that, yeah. I have been trying hard to be a bit firmer, if you will. I just feel sometimes that if I say no I will be rude.
I seriously have a thing with rudeness, don't know if you've noticed.

21. Do you judge others by higher or lower standards than you judge yourself?

lower.

22. What things do you consider too personal to discuss with others?

I like discussing things that are too personal.

23. Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say?

I used to. There was a period that I was so bad in terms of socialising, self-esteem and the like, that I would make notes of things to say when I would call a specific person. Really f*cked up situation. I don't do that anymore. I'm not a huge fan of phone calls anyway.

24. Would you rather be overdressed or underdressed for a party?

Overdressed, you can always take things off.

25. If you were given $1 million dollars to donate anonymously to a charity or a stranger, how would you dispose of it?

animal shelters. We have lots of stray animals here.

26. Do you find yourself saying things you don't mean, just to be polite?

I like being polite, but I don't like being a hypocrite. If a conversation calls for lies, I simply won't participate.

27. In love, is intensity or permanence more important to you? How much do you expect from someone who loves you? What would make you feel most betrayed? Indifference, dishonesty or infidelity?

Right now I would have to say intensity.
When I am in love I give 100% of myself and sadly I expect the same from the one I love. I say sadly because I have not met one willing to do the same.
Indifference, dishonesty and infidelity would all hurt me equally. Indifference kills me, but so does dishonesty.

28. How forgiving are you when your friends let you down? Do you address the issue with your friends?

I can't be mad at friends I love very much. When they do something to let me down I will have to discuss it with them, there is no point keeping it to myself. Forgiving is good as long as they have understood the reason they needed to be forgiven in the first place.

I liked this :)

1. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one ability or quality, what would it be?
Greater sympathy for people who need constant assurance and attention. As it is now I tend to tune out the people who always crave external validation.

2. If you could use a voodoo doll to hurt any one person you choose, would you?
No.

3. If you were able to live to 90 and retain either the body or the mind of a 30 year old for the last 60 years of your life, which one would you want?
Body. I would not want to be as naïve as a 30 year old the rest of my life.

4. Would you rather be extremely successful professionally and a have a tolerable yet unexciting private life, or have an extremely happy private life and only a tolerable and unexciting professional life?
The former.

5. Are there people you envy enough to want to trade lives with them?
Never.

6. When did you last sing to yourself or to someone else?

7. While parking late at night, you scrape the side of an expensive new car. You are certain no one else is aware of what happened and the damage appeared to be minor, would you leave a note?
Yes. The note would read, "Tough sh*t, f*cker."

8. How do you react when people sing happy birthday to you in a restaurant?
I sing along.

9. If you walked out your door one morning and saw a bird with a broken wing huddled in a nearby bush, what would you do?
Ignore it. The last thing nature needs is me f*cking it up.

10. If a friend were almost always late, would you resent it or simply allow for it? Can you be counted on to be on time?
It would depend entirely on the situation. Friends are more important than clocks. As to the second question, yes.

11. If you could have free, unlimited service for five years from an extemely good cook, chauffeur, housekeeper, masseuse, or personal secretary, which would you choose?
Housekeeper. Mine is too expensive.

12. Do you feel ill at ease going alone to either dinner or a movie? What about going on vacation by yourself?
I prefer to eat with friends and see movies alone. Most vacations are just better alone. I want to follow my own schedule. But sometimes it is nice to share an experience with someone.

13. Is it easy for you to accept help when you need it? Will you ask for help?
Absolutely.

14. Is there something you've dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven't you done it?
I have wanted to go to China for years. I am doing it in March.

15. What are your most compulsive habits? Do you regularly struggle to break these habits?
I play trills and arpeggios on tables and counter tops. It really bothers some people, but I have no intention of stopping.

16. What do you most strive for in your life: accomplishment, security, love, power, excitement, knowledge or something else?
Compassion.

17.Do you usually make special effort to thank someone who does you a favor? How do you react when you aren't thanked for going out of your way for someone?
Yes. I am not bothered if I am not thanked. I probably did not do it for praise.

18. If you were at a friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner and found a dead bug in your salad, what would you do?
I would tell them it is time to go out.

19. When you do something ridiculous, how much does it bother you to have other people notice and to laugh at you?
If something is funny, you have to acknowledge it.

20. Do you find it difficult to say "no", so much so that you usually do favors for others you don't want to do? If so, why?
No.

21. Do you judge others by higher or lower standards than you judge yourself?
Much lower.

22. What things do you consider too personal to discuss with others?
That is none of your business. Too obvious? Ok. I rarely discuss various events of the past, not out of shame or embarrassment, but mostly because these conversations tend to turn sour.

23. Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say?
No. Why would I do that?

24. Would you rather be overdressed or underdressed for a party?
I honestly do not care.

25. If you were given $1 million dollars to donate anonymously to a charity or a stranger, how would you dispose of it?
I would give it to one of my favorite charities.

26. Do you find yourself saying things you don't mean, just to be polite?
Hell no.

27. In love, is intensity or permanence more important to you? How much do you expect from someone who loves you? What would make you feel most betrayed? Indifference, dishonesty or infidelity?
Intensity/as much as I give/dishonesty.

28. How forgiving are you when your friends let you down? Do you address the issue with your friends?
Very and yes.

Now you know why I have so few second dates.

1. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one ability or quality, what would it be?

Self esteem and the ability to realise when I have just or am just about to f*ck something up.

2. If you could use a voodoo doll to hurt any one person you choose, would you?

As much as I think I would sometimes like to, no.

3. If you were able to live to 90 and retain either the body or the mind of a 30 year old for the last 60 years of your life, which one would you want?

The body, as long as it's not my current body.

4. Would you rather be extremely successful professionally and a have a tolerable yet unexciting private life, or have an extremely happy private life and only a tolerable and unexciting professional life?

I just want it all!

5. Are there people you envy enough to want to trade lives with them?

Sometimes, but then something happens to make my life pretty good for a while.

6. When did you last sing to yourself or to someone else?

I do it so often I hardly notice.

7. While parking late at night, you scrape the side of an expensive new car. You are certain no one else is aware of what happened and the damage appeared to be minor, would you leave a note?

Yes - it would say "Your car got in the way"

8. How do you react when people sing happy birthday to you in a restaurant?

If I've had enough to drink, I get up and conduct.

9. If you walked out your door one morning and saw a bird with a broken wing huddled in a nearby bush, what would you do?

I would take it to the nearest wildlife shelter.

10. If a friend were almost always late, would you resent it or simply allow for it? Can you be counted on to be on time?

I generally allow for it, if they're not too late. As for me, I would rather be an hour early than five minutes late.

11. If you could have free, unlimited service for five years from an extemely good cook, chauffeur, housekeeper, masseuse, or personal secretary, which would you choose?

Housekeeper. I hate housework.

12. Do you feel ill at ease going alone to either dinner or a movie? What about going on vacation by yourself?

I don't mind going alone, but usually in the middle of the movie/meal/holiday I ask myself what the hell I'm doing and realise how sad my life has become.

13. Is it easy for you to accept help when you need it? Will you ask for help?

I needed a lot of help when I was an out-of-control teenager, so these days I like to prove that I can look after myself.

14. Is there something you've dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven't you done it?

Yes, but at my age and with my lifestyle, I doubt it's ever going to happen for me.

15. What are your most compulsive habits? Do you regularly struggle to break these habits?

I bite my nails and have done since I was eighteen months old. It's gotten so I don't realise I'm doing it.

16. What do you most strive for in your life: accomplishment, security, love, power, excitement, knowledge or something else?

Love, security, knowledge

17.Do you usually make special effort to thank someone who does you a favor? How do you react when you aren't thanked for going out of your way for someone?

I make an effort to thank them for anything they've done for me. It's nice to be thanked, but I don't make a huge deal of it.

18. If you were at a friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner and found a dead bug in your salad, what would you do?

Probably never eat at their house again.

19. When you do something ridiculous, how much does it bother you to have other people notice and to laugh at you?

I hate being laughed at. Seriously. It's embarrassing. However, if it's because I've done something stupid, I'm usually the first to laugh at myself.

20. Do you find it difficult to say "no", so much so that you usually do favors for others you don't want to do? If so, why?

I have no problem saying no.

21. Do you judge others by higher or lower standards than you judge yourself?

I try not to judge people at all, but sometimes it's human nature. When I find myself doing it, I usually think that they are probably happier with their lives than I am with mine.

22. What things do you consider too personal to discuss with others?

If we're talking a first date, then any mention of ex-partners is off-limits.

23. Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say?

Sometimes. Mostly I just wing it.

24. Would you rather be overdressed or underdressed for a party?

Underdressed, but not by too much.

25. If you were given $1 million dollars to donate anonymously to a charity or a stranger, how would you dispose of it?

My favourite charity would benefit.

26. Do you find yourself saying things you don't mean, just to be polite?

Not usually. I'm pretty blunt.

27. In love, is intensity or permanence more important to you? How much do you expect from someone who loves you? What would make you feel most betrayed? Indifference, dishonesty or infidelity?

I don't like being smothered by someone, so I would go for permanence over intensity. I expect them to share my life, not live my life: they would have to have their own interests too. Indifference kills, being ignored is the worst. I've dealt with dishonesty before, and that hurts too.

28. How forgiving are you when your friends let you down? Do you address the issue with your friends?

Sometimes too forgiving. My friends know not to try and walk over me though. i will bring up an issue if it appears to be an ongoing one.
I don't believe in Bondi. I don't believe in rugby league. I believe in Yoko, John Lennon, the Lost Weekend and me.

24. Would you rather be overdressed or underdressed for a party?
- Over dressed

25. If you were given $1 million dollars to donate anonymously to a charity or a stranger, how would you dispose of it?
- I'd give it to some animal rights charity most likely. Don't know which.

26. Do you find yourself saying things you don't mean, just to be polite?
- Sometimes.

27. In love, is intensity or permanence more important to you? How much do you expect from someone who loves you? What would make you feel most betrayed? Indifference, dishonesty or infidelity?
- Intensity is more important. I'd rather be in love and get my heart broken than be in a stale relationship that lasts for a long time but gets boring. Dishonesty would probably make me feel most betrayed.

28. How forgiving are you when your friends let you down? Do you address the issue with your friends?
- My friends frequently let me down and so does everyone else. I've kind of got used to it now, but it'd be nice to find someone who could actually stick to what they said. I've brought it up with a friend in the past and we had a big argument and fell out, lol!

1. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one ability or quality, what would it be?
The ability to find the good in every situation. Try as I might, I don't always succeed.

Not at all.

3. If you were able to live to 90 and retain either the body or the mind of a 30 year old for the last 60 years of your life, which one would you want?
It's too late for both at this stage, but I'd go for the body. The mind gets better after 30.

4. Would you rather be extremely successful professionally and a have a tolerable yet unexciting private life, or have an extremely happy private life and only a tolerable and unexciting professional life?
Can I choose both? What's one without the other?

Not really. We are all who we are for a reason.

6. When did you last sing to yourself or to someone else?
Yesterday in church.

I love it. Especially on my birthday.

9. If you walked out your door one morning and saw a bird with a broken wing huddled in a nearby bush, what would you do?
Find someone who knows something about birds. Around here that's pretty easy.

I'm usually early, but I don't mind if others are a little late.

I'd rather do those with other people, but I'm ok if I have to be alone.

13. Is it easy for you to accept help when you need it? Will you ask for help?

I've always wanted to bring peace to the world. I'm still working on it.

15. What are your most compulsive habits? Do you regularly struggle to break these habits?
I bite my nails. I've made some efforts to stop in the past, but it's never worked out.

Love really is the answer.

17.Do you usually make special effort to thank someone who does you a favor? How do you react when you aren't thanked for going out of your way for someone?
I thank people all the time. It's common courtesy. I'll survive if I'm not thanked.

18. If you were at a friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner and found a dead bug in your salad, what would you do?
I'd politely tell them there is a dead bug in the food.

No. I genuinely mean them.

27. In love, is intensity or permanence more important to you? How much do you expect from someone who loves you? What would make you feel most betrayed? Indifference, dishonesty or infidelity?
In love, everything is important. Sorry for the short answer, but I'm almost out of time.

28. How forgiving are you when your friends let you down? Do you address the issue with your friends?
I'm forgiving. It goes with the uniform.
With great power comes great responsibility. With great age....

1. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one ability or quality, what would it be?

To be able to eat the things I enjoy without worrying about keeping my weight down.

2. If you could use a voodoo doll to hurt any one person you choose, would you?

No, I don't think I could be that cruel.

3. If you were able to live to 90 and retain either the body or the mind of a 30 year old for the last 60 years of your life, which one would you want?

The mind. If you're going ga-ga then it doesn't matter how good you look.

4. Would you rather be extremely successful professionally and a have a tolerable yet unexciting private life, or have an extremely happy private life and only a tolerable and unexciting professional life?

A happy private life.

5. Are there people you envy enough to want to trade lives with them?

Absolutely.

6. When did you last sing to yourself or to someone else?

All Grown Up by Elvis Costello, alone in the cab of my train.

7. While parking late at night, you scrape the side of an expensive new car. You are certain no one else is aware of what happened and the damage appeared to be minor, would you leave a note?

It depends on how I was off, financially. If I could afford the repair to the car then I'd leave a note. If I honestly couldn't afford to pay for the damage, then I'd regrettably have to leave it to the owner to repair themselves or to claim on their insurance.

8. How do you react when people sing happy birthday to you in a restaurant?

With mild embarrassment and quiet tolerance.

9. If you walked out your door one morning and saw a bird with a broken wing huddled in a nearby bush, what would you do?

Get a box from home, put it in there & call the local animal services.

10. If a friend were almost always late, would you resent it or simply allow for it? Can you be counted on to be on time?

I'd allow for it and, no - because I rely on public transport - there are things that happen which mean that I can sometimes be delayed. All you can do is make the best effort you possibly can to be punctual.

11. If you could have free, unlimited service for five years from an extemely good cook, chauffeur, housekeeper, masseuse, or personal secretary, which would you choose?

Housekeeper, although I'd feel uncomfortable having anyone working for me in any of the capacities.

12. Do you feel ill at ease going alone to either dinner or a movie? What about going on vacation by yourself?

I have done all of those things before and have been perfectly comfortable doing them on my own.

13. Is it easy for you to accept help when you need it? Will you ask for help?

Like anyone, I have a certain amount of pride but if I really needed help, I think I would be sensible and humble enough to ask for it.

14. Is there something you've dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven't you done it?

Owning my own house - and I haven't done it because I haven't been able to afford it.

15. What are your most compulsive habits? Do you regularly struggle to break these habits?

I'm not really sure about this one - probably the desire to do every task I need to straight away. I find it difficult to put anything off and, if I do, it plays on my mind until I'm able to accomplish what I need to.

16. What do you most strive for in your life: accomplishment, security, love, power, excitement, knowledge or something else?

Love.

17.Do you usually make special effort to thank someone who does you a favor? How do you react when you aren't thanked for going out of your way for someone?

Yes, I try to make sure that people know that I am grateful for their kindness and, if I've done something for somebody which I haven't been thanked for then it's not a big deal, but I'd probably be less inclined to make such an effort in the future for that person.

18. If you were at a friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner and found a dead bug in your salad, what would you do?

Discreetly get rid of it somewhere.

19. When you do something ridiculous, how much does it bother you to have other people notice and to laugh at you?

Depends what it is. I can usually laugh most things off myself.

20. Do you find it difficult to say "no", so much so that you usually do favors for others you don't want to do? If so, why?

No, I don't find it difficult to say no - not as much as I used to, anyway.

21. Do you judge others by higher or lower standards than you judge yourself?

I try not to judge others, but I don't expect them to have or live by my ideals. I generally have low expectations from people so, when people exceed those expectations, I am warmly surprised. There are some real b*stards in this world and I have learned to appreciate those who simply aren't b*stards.

22. What things do you consider too personal to discuss with others?

I am dislike toilet talk & find jokes about farting & burping slightly in bad taste too.

23. Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say?

I've been known to plan my points before a telephone call if necessary. Sometimes it is the only sensible way to ensure that you get your message across.

24. Would you rather be overdressed or underdressed for a party?

Overdressed.

25. If you were given $1 million dollars to donate anonymously to a charity or a stranger, how would you dispose of it?

I would probably donate it Shelter, a charity for the homeless.

26. Do you find yourself saying things you don't mean, just to be polite?

Yes. As long as it isn't completely against your beliefs, then little white lies to be polite or kind are acceptable.

27. (i) In love, is intensity or permanence more important to you? (ii) How much do you expect from someone who loves you? (iii) What would make you feel most betrayed? Indifference, dishonesty or infidelity?

(i) Permanence... but it isn't generally a trade off between the two, there are peaks and troughs to any long term relationship. (ii) As much as I give them (iii) Indifference, dishonesty & infidelity would all make me feel betrayed - I really can't choose.

28. How forgiving are you when your friends let you down? Do you address the issue with your friends?

Very forgiving - and, yes, if it matters I'd always address the issue. If it is minor and doesn't matter in the long term then a sensible person knows when to let sleeping dogs lie.
...and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.
