Not to be a bummer, but it really sucked for me...one of the worst. I'll have to get back to you on what was good about it. I'm still sucking air, so I suppose that is good and my kids are healthy...that is a lot actually when I think about it, but I am looking forward to a new year, that's for sure.

Sorry, but I'm not above a bit of Schadenfreude

Health scares for four people I know. Three out of the woods, one still working on it.
Class I teach being cancelled in the budget.

Overall, it's been a very good year. Onwards and upwards.
Put a puppet on it.

was really bad for you and your family.

I had a horrible 2006 and hope to never live another year like it either... besides, of course, watching my beautiful girls growing up, there was nothing about 2006 positive enough to mention except the formation of this site and the wonderful people I've met.

I welcome 2007 with open arms.

I hate to always be thought of as a 'downer', so sometimes I really have to push myself to seem OK. I know how people feel about depressed people~they avoid them and don't want to be around them.

I think I must have a coping mechanism that helps me get along with life. That's the only way I can describe it.
And in the end...The love you take..Is equal to the love you make.

Thanks, Janet and Chad.

At first I was afraid I wouldn't be able to think of anything 'good' but really there were a few bright spots this past year when I sat and thought about it.

It's that positive attitude that makes you so inspiring. After what you've been through over the past year, that you are even able to mention happier times is truly amazing. You are an amazing woman.

Absolutely.

I hate to always be thought of as a 'downer', so sometimes I really have to push myself to seem OK. I know how people feel about depressed people~they avoid them and don't want to be around them.

I think I must have a coping mechanism that helps me get along with life. That's the only way I can describe it.

Diane this is exactly why you inspire me everyday. And yet I still don`t come close to the grace, dignity and shear determination for life that you have witnessed for all of us here. Thankyou for the gifts that you have given us.
You say you want to save humanity but it`s people that you just can`t stand
John came to me in a dream and this is what he said. "I had a vision of a man on a flaming pie, and he told me that Betsy with a B not Lisa with a L is the biggest fan of mine". John trumps 'the boss' !

I WAS ROBBED BY THAT DEVIL WOMAN

Good Events
I did some traveling in 2006. In the early summer I went to Europe to make some money and spend even more. In August I took my first trip to Asia and went to Thailand. Two weeks later there was a coup. Three months later there were several bombings throughout Bangkok. I wonder if I will be invited back some day. At the end of September I went to Los Angeles. Apparently the phrase "you cannot pay me enough to go to Los Angeles" is not accurate. In December I went to Austria for Mozart's 250th birthday. The locals used this as an excuse to drink more than usual. I used that as an excuse to join them.

I spent more time with my father and sister than usual. Hopefully we can keep that up. I also tentatively began to repair some of the severed relationships on my mother's side of the family. It may take time, but eventually I might one day bend them to my will.

A friend I have known since high school was injured in a car accident in 2004. We had a little jazz ensemble just for shits and giggles that was put on hold while she recuperated. Now that she is up to speed we are talking about putting it back together.

I finally figured out the secret to nailing the allegro in Scarlatti's K141. Not that I am going to tell any of you. Do your own damn homework.

I made a killing when I sold my Halliburton stock. I was going to wait until 2009 for Cheney to come back, but the guilt of profiting off of a war finally got to me. Before I get virtually castrated (or crucified. I can never keep those two straight) I should point out that I gave the earnings to Greenpeace. I figured that would make for some nice karma/irony.

I got laid about 52 times. This is simply a rough estimate and should not be used for wagering.

Bad Evetnts
My favorite aunt died. I was out of town when I heard the news and was more than a little p*ssed off at not being told earlier. There are those in my family who have been trying to shield me from bad news since I was a child. I think maybe now I am old enough to handle it.

World Events
Ariel Sharon has a massive stroke and is replaced.

Charles Kennedy downs a few cold ones and resigns.

Fidel Castro almost steps down, sort of.

Representative Mark Foley, protector of children from the internet, resigns after using the internet to talk to children in, like, not so lol ways.

Slobodan Milošević dies in prison before they can execute him.

Under house arrest for the murder of two rival's bodyguards, Augusto Pinochet dies before ever standing trial for the murder and torture of over 30,000 of his own people, over 300 criminal charges of crimes against humanity, embezzlement, kidnapping, money laundering and tax evasion. But he kept the Commies out of Chile, so it's all good.

Saddam Hussein is condemned by a jury of his peers (he was a murderous tyrant, after all) and killed on youtube.

Abu Musab al Zarqawi gets blowed up.

President Gerald Ford becomes not only the oldest living US President, but also remains relatively sane his entire life. Months later he dies.

Michelle Bachelet becomes the first female president of Chile. Take that, Pinochet.

Han Myeong Sook becomes the first female prime minister of South Korea. Take that, Syngman Rhee.

Keith Ellison is elected to the House of Representatives. Take that, radical fundamentalists.

Hamas wins in Palestine. Take that, non-terrorists.

Women vote in Kuwait. Take that, whoever had a problem with it.

Senator Clinton pisses off a lot of people at a Martin Luther King rally. (Congress is a plantation).

Senator Kerry pisses off a lot of people when he proves that timing is everything. (Soldiers are idiots).

Pope Benedict XVI pisses off a lot of people in Germany. (Muslims will kill you all and feast on your entrails).

Paul McCartney wins zero Grammies (but Martha wins one or two, so all is fair).

Woody Allen wins zero Oscars (but George Clooney does. George Clooney? That guy from "Roseanne"?).

Coal miners die in West Virginia.

Coal miners die in Poland.

Miners die in Mexico.

Miners are trapped in Tasmania, but rescued.

Pluto loses its planet status. Goofy goes postal.

Spinach causes mass hysteria in the United States. The final death toll: 1.

The US population hits 300 million. And all of them seem to be at my subway stop.

Muhammad Dofiel, Rag Heddiye, Kamal Jacquey and Muhammad Yunus, all Muslims, win the Nobel Peace Prize. But wait, Muslims are all machete wielding murderers, right?

Samuel Alito joins the Supreme Court. Wonders aloud why their robes cannot be white.

Dick Cheney shoots a guy in the face. He was not as think as you drunk he was.

Iran goes nuclear. Clearly threatened, Israel bombs Lebanon.

North Korea tries to go nuclear, but their tiny missiles suffer from premature ejection.

Montenegro becomes independent. No one notices.

East Timor has issues. As if this is news.

Police in London actually use police work to catch terrorists. Now I have to put my toothpaste in a ziplock bag when I fly.

The Democratic Party shows how effective it is by just barely winning a majority even after an entire year of Republican scandals. Democrats will announce their bold new strategies just as soon as they come up with some.

A doctor and five nurses are sentenced to death in Libya for willingly infecting hundreds of children with HIV. This is mostly ignored in the American press because Michael Richards said "n*gger".

New York (as well as many lesser cities) has the hottest summer in a long time. Earth has the hottest year ever recorded, just after 2005 and 1998. And yet, global warming does not exist.

Giving profits to Greenpeace....way cool.

Sorry about the family stuff, but relatives do suck at times, but at least you got some good traveling in.

Got quite a sex schedule going, dear. Keep up the lofty goals.

This was great.

As for global warming, come to Colorado and you will find out that it does not exist. It's a whole 6 degrees outside and this is the fourth weekend in a row of snow.

I like the 52 lays in a year, too. With a boyfriend who travels for a living, that isn't going to happen to me. Good work, Moz. ;)

I still think you are the funniest boardie.
