Great to hear it Stefan! I'm sure the Macca board still has plenty of good people on there - but we have the best people here. Oh, and we're very modest too. Honest.

Send her a PM - she visits from time to time, but if she knows that you're here, she may come more often! I love Michelle - she has such a great outlook and philosophy... as well as being one of the most intelligent people I've conversed with on these messageboards. You can always count on her to give a unique and interesting perspective on a subject.

Would you mind waiting until after Christmas before you find the trouble, I think lots of people are a bit stressed at the moment. The wine you brought might help, though it's a bit early in the day. Nice to see you here.

Hi Bridget! Well, I wanted to stay loyal to the macca-board; but it`s such a bore these days (so f*cking over-populated by frustrated hippies IMO) ... it seems like all the cool people have moved over to strawberry fields. Honestly, at first I wasn`t so much in awe of strawberry fields at all (it seemed a bit like a disaspora/sect to me), but I now I came to the conclusion that it`s much more fun to spend my time here; I mean: modgirl, samwise, jefflynnesbeard, kopite (svenn), kink (kaleidoscope) and so many others... you don`t get them at maccas these days! |

Well, of course that place is boring now. You don't have all of us wonderful hipsters there!
Seen any good shows lately or hear anything new? There's really nothing going on here in Detroit, think it's everyone settling down, bands growing bored with each other (even the Singles hardly play at home anymore now!), WAHAA!! I want my music scene back, now damnit! So thrill me with anything you think I'd might like musicwise and I'll be satsifed! |

Sandra, I`m surprised at you. It is always 5 o clock somewhere. Welcome, welcome back Doggie. |
|
You say you want to save humanity but it`s people that you just can`t stand John came to me in a dream and this is what he said. "I had a vision of a man on a flaming pie, and he told me that Betsy with a B not Lisa with a L is the biggest fan of mine". John trumps 'the boss' ! I WAS ROBBED BY THAT DEVIL WOMAN | |

Yes, Bridget, I have to agree. 2002-2005 were very good years for Detroit (the best since the early 70s), but 2006 was a bit of a let-down ( for america in general and the middle-west of the US in particular); well you shouldn`t complain, where I live there is no such thing as a music-scene; fortunately lots of cool bands visiting vienna each year, cos there`s a very vivid indie/alternative/mod-scene here, but there`s nothing homegrown in terms of bands (at least not until I get a good band together )...I think the best records this year were either british or canadian: The Kooks ("Inside In/Inside Out") and The Pipettes ("We Are The Pipettes") are my recommadations (if you haven`t already come across...)! Did you like the new Killers-LP? It`s a bit overblown, but I thought it was pretty good! |

Hey people, How is everybody? I came back from band practice an hour ago. This Friday is my first gig ever and although I'm sort of excited, I'm too nervous. I'm very new to the band and I don't even know all of the lyrics yet, still I have to go and sing in front of people! I told them maybe I should have something to drink first but they won't allow me, haha.

I know I shouldn't complain, but I'm just so sad about the scene. I've grown unhappy with my favorite partiers, Capitol Cities, because of their bickering with my boyfriend's band and among theirselves. So lines were drawn with who hangs out with who. The Hard Lessons and the Singles so rarely play at home, the Hentchmen play once every two years now. The Sights are now major let-downs, you can't get a gig or be somewhat noteworthy now without kissing Wendy Case's (the Paybacks) ass now around here. I think we're all growing up. A bunch of people got married this year, indcluing Bobby from the Sights, that was a shocker! Oh well.....scenes die down and I think this is the death of this one. It was a fun ride though. And no, I haven't heard the new Killers album. I think when I heard it being compared to a Springsteen album, it turned me off. Killers? Springsteen? No way you can compare the two?! How the hell do you compare Asbury Park, NJ to British pop sounds? You can't. |

That`s exciting news; wow; I haven`t had a single gig since one year (due to lots of arguments in my band... the last year was something like my "White Album/John 'n' Yoko/Paul 'n' Linda/Get Back/Let It Be/Imagine/Ram-phase!" :D) well, they`re right, Olia. Better stay sober before your first gig (I was drunk at my first gig ever, and it was sh*t). Learn the lyrics and it will be alrght, I promise. What kind of music do you play with your band ( and what`s the name of the band), anyway? I`m sure it will be fine; you`re a pretty girl, Olia; so even if the music sucks (and I`m sure it doesn`t!), the audience will be cheering for your looks alone  |

Olia, you'll do wonderfully! I know it's just nerves, but you'll do great! And yes, no drinking before going on, esp if you're singing. I've seen too many gigs of my buddy Chris's where he's gone on plastered, they were not pretty. But you'll be fine! |

haha, actually, I had to review the new Killers-album for the magazine I`m writing for, and I did compare it with "Born To Run" (not with "Asbury Park, NJ", mind you :D)... it really sounds a lot more like mid70s-Springsteen (plus The Clash`s "London Town", plus f*cking late 80s U2, plus mid90s Oasis) than "british pop sounds"... I didn`t like the 1st Killers Album; but I kinda like "Sam`s Town"! I think it`s the best american album of 2006! |

Hmmm....I'll buy it on itunes and give it a listen. But still, I get wary when I hear people try to compare theirselves to someone like Springsteen. To me, it's just not the same league, like I said, I'll give it a listen to and make my judgement from there. |

Hahaha, thank you Stefan. The band plays some sort of contemporary rock; I only have to do backing vocals so my role is not that important, but I'm still nervous because I'm shy as it is, let alone having to sing in front of many people I don't know.
Thanks, Bridget. I guess that I'll be fine from the first song on... I'll just have to get used to the crowd. It's a weird experience but I think it will be fun in a way

Probably in the end of the year, because I work and study I cant go now. I think it is the trip of her dreams too. I´m happy for her. I adore my mother, she is fantastic. She said Europe is beautiful. |

Hey I understand, Stefff. I will try to record next week, I will not promise. Well, I hope so... How is everything there? My mother is sad in Geneva, because she doesnt know where to go. Well, I tried to contact some people to show her the city. |

must be hard to be new to a city that`s completely different from what one used to know. I hope your mother will soon be happy again with her life in Geneva... maybe she needs just some time to get comfortable with her new situation. I hope everything`s fine with you; if not - write a song (can be a good therapy... if it doesn`t work as a therapy at least you`ve got a good song, know what I mean )...I`m a bit confused at the moment (another good reason to write some decent songs )... it`s a typical boy/girl-thing
a typical silver moondog-thing
... last week I went out with a nice girl that I really like for some time now (at least for one month)... we went to a Sean Lennon-Concert and had lots of fun, but since that, it cooled down and I don`t know why... have I acted wrong? I don`t think so (well apart from me being drunk
)... well, time will tell! Why has life to be so f*cking difficult? It`s never easy (at least not for me!)... |

it would be easier if you just told her what's bothering you and asked her how she sees things. I know it's hard most of the time, but I think it's worth doing it when you are interested in another person this much. You might embarrass yourself but at least you'll know where you stand. What is wrong with you, Michelle? Do you want to talk about it? I am always here for you if you want |

Yes, true. But I still have to find a way to do it... I think that the right timing is important. I`m not so much afraid of embarrassing myself (and let me tell you; it would be a big embarrassment, cos we`re working together, and all the other people at the office would find out in no time)... I`m just afraid of the answer: NO. From my own experience I know that the finality of that word can be f*cking painful! I had a hard time last year, when something like that happened, and I still have to find my self-confidence again. |

Yeah, he often said that he never could split up with his brother, although he`s a fool (unfortunately it would have been better if they`d split up 10 years ago IMO)... Splitting up after their first three albums would have made them perfect. |

I know, he's said something like this before. And you're damn right, if they split up after Be Here Now that would have made them perfect! Now they might as well stay together. |

Hey Svenn, big expert of all love/sex-related-topics, I need your advice
; I told you bout the girl I`ve been out with last week (and that she acted a bit strange the days afterwards)... well, she`s got birthday in two days, and tomorrow will be the last day I`ll be seeing her this week. I`ve got a gift for her, which I`ll give her tomorrow (a very [!!!] romantic movie on dvd by Woody Allen cos she`s a bit of a Woody Allen-fan just like me)... I hope she`ll draw the right conclusions (and I hope I will have luck with the ladies at least once in this life
)... do you think she will "get it" (I`ve also written a nice, romantic note for her)
or is there anything else I have to do to make my intentions clear? Waht would YOU do?

You'll Never Walk Alone

What is with Austrian girls? Are they all so complicated? Can't they take a hint? Have you been too drunk? God knows why things cooled down after the Sean Lennon concert. It's a mystery. You play in a band, write for a music magazine, everything should be so easy for you. The silver moondog charm should be enough to drive all the girls crazy. I hope she finally realises now that you really like her. If you give her a romantic movie, it would be pretty obvious what you think of her. I think she'll "get it" now. Nice romatic note? Never tried that before. Great idea! I think what you're going to do is brilliant. I would have done something like that for her birthday. I hope it all works out. It was so much easier when I got to know Kate. I just met her outside a night club, started talking to her, she thought I had a funny accent, made fun of it... and then we exchanged phone numbers. The next day she called. I couldn't believe it. Good luck, mate!

Thanks... I needed just that (someone telling me that it will work out - cos I wouldn`t have changed my plans for tomorrow anyway)... why did it cool down after the concert? I dunno. Maybe I was too arrogant (unfortunately that happens often when I`m drinking too much.... I think she likes my "sober-self" more, which is more gentleman-like)... I also did notice that she was a bit nervous around me in the days after the concert; heaven knows why... she`s a very self-confident person, so I`ve never seen her that nervous before... yeah, all the girls I like seem to be complicated (but so am I too, it seems )...
