I AM THE BIGGEST JOHN FAN!
|
Can you get a humane trap? One where the little mice can get in to get to the treat but is unable to escape, so you can take the little dear to some other location and set it free? That is what I would do , otherwise would just live with it. I am not afraid of little furry things, it is the creepy crawlies that do me in. |
|
You say you want to save humanity but it`s people that you just can`t stand John came to me in a dream and this is what he said. I`m not familiar with UK bugs Jayne, so I have no clue as to whether or not you know what you are getting youself into with a swap such as this. Here in the southern US we have multiple legged menacing things that you could actually saddle and ride. |

Personally I wouldnt use the reppelents because obviously you dont want dead mice on your hands, but they did the job of getting rid of them(mum wasnt that fussed how she got rid of them) I managed to get a humane trap from some sort of pet shop I think I got it from and it worked initially although after a while we did get one crafty little thing who managed to take the food but not get trapped. But yeah the humane traps are the best option |

thanks for that info
I've had enough though  thought there was only 1 but seen another one (well maybe same one but not taking the chance) I've just bought a ultrasonic one (similar to what I have posted) which gives of high frequency sound waves which apprantly sound like a burgular alarm/fire alarm going off constantly and they disperse that way (fingers crossed) will let you all know if it works once I've got it.

Afraid you have to put poison down, that's the only thing that gets rid of them, but not if you've got cats. If there's one, there'll be more, probably got a nest somewhere. |

Cats who are well fed will mostly hunt them to let them go and catch them again. If kitty is hungry mousie will be din din. |

Actually, what I meant is, don't put poison down if you've got a cat cos the cat might eat the poison. The poison come as tiny (usually blue) pellets, you put them in a tray or an old dish that you don't want and place them where the mice usually hang out. |

chuck a shoe at it. humane traps fine if you travel ten miles to let them out always found the old fashioned traps work best. the oldman found a snail in the bathroom ceiling fan. |

Damn Peter right there. Jayne if you have a humane trap which will work by the way, don't make the mistake of letting the mouse go right outside the house -- they will come right back in. You have to drive them away (as silly as it sounds) then let them go. |

We live very far out into the country and are surrounded by pastureland. Even with all of the cats around here, sometimes a little varmit will manage to get into the house when it drops to bone-chilling cold. I keep a humane trap, just in case, and when I need it, we put a little peanut butter in it, and within an hour or so, he's caught! Early last winter, we needed the trap . So, my six year old grand-daughter and I put some peanut butter into it early in the evening. We got to working on scrapbooks and forgot about it until about 10p.m. when we started to bed. It was blazing cold outside! Not only did we have one little mouse, we had two...in the same trap! Well, in order to keep them from coming back, you need to remove them to about two miles from your house. We put on our coats over our robes and headed down the country road in the middle of the night to release mice! When I look back on it...it is hysterical. I stopped the car three miles down the road (just to make sure) and she got out and opened the trap and when they ran out she chased them to the side of the road so they would not get run over....lol.Ever since then, when she comes out here, we have to set traps because she thought that was so much fun in the middle of the night! She has been so disappointed that we have never caught another mouse...

BTW...if you decide to use poison, which I hope you don't, you need to be aware that if the mouse and an animal gets ahold of the dead mouse and eats it, the poison in the mouses system will also kill or make the other animal extremely ill. |
