There you go again trying to ruin this thread because you are afraid of people getting their feelings hurt. I'd like to thank you to not speak for others in here. My feelings aren't hurt.
If you think it's so dumb, then why even post there, huh? It doesn't make sense trying to hijack this thread because "Oh someone's feelings might get hurt." I just don't get it. You don't like it, then don't even bother looking in the thread.
I'm sorry, this has just got to me. :hmm:

No, we do not get you mixed up, Diane. How could we.

Summer, if you had been here, we voted on this and the majority won. If you don't like the thread, you shouldn't open it. There are lots of threads here that are of no interest to me and I don't go near them.

It's very simple to just ignore what you don't like here. So, please don't ruin the fun for other people.

And, thanks to everyone who has voted for me. Have you noticed that I am not posting nearly as much as I used to? A full time job is making a big difference in time on my home computer. Plus I stare at a computer screen for 8 hours now.

THIS IS THE LAST TIME THIS WILL BE SAID. At least by me. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE IDEA OF THESE AWARDS, THEN DO NOT VOTE!!

The awards have gone ahead after much debate over whether or not they are suitable. The majority of our members voted Yes in response to reinstating them, therefore those of you who voted against them are outnumbered. Sorry. That's how it works in a democracy.
I don't believe in Bondi. I don't believe in rugby league. I believe in Yoko, John Lennon, the Lost Weekend and me.

Because first of all they should mind their business about other people.

Secondly, how can you get your feelings hurt if you don't read something that doesn't interest you?

It seems to me that the post in question (which has now been deleted), rather than being sensitive was actually very negative and hurtful in itself. I mean, Weirdo Of The Year went to "whoever thought up these awards". Hmmm - that would be our ADMINISTRATOR!!

Anyway, the post is gone and please, NO MORE BICKERING!!

I'm sorry, this has just got to me. :hmm:

ARRGH, why are we being sensitive over somebody not wanting to hurt people's feelings? True, the old adage goes if you don't like the thread, don't post in it applies here but why give a person heat if they are trying to be sensitive to other's?

Because first of all they should mind their business about other people.

Secondly, how can you get your feelings hurt if you don't read something that doesn't interest you?

Do people actually have to be hit in the head with a brick?

Yo, Nutty.............BITE ME!!!!! but do it gently, please......don't want to get my boyfriend jealous!!

OK, PM me the spot you would like 'gently' bitten....I feel naughty! :)

No pm's needed...........uh, bite me on my, uh, um,uh huge fat arse!!!!

Thanks for the vote Rose, I'm working on it :-)

Thanks also to Olen & Anna who wrote me in for best Newcomer, unfortunately I don't qualify, but I feel honored nonetheless :-)

You say you want to save humanity but it`s people that you just can`t stand
John came to me in a dream and this is what he said. "I had a vision of a man on a flaming pie, and he told me that Betsy with a B not Lisa with a L is the biggest fan of mine". John trumps 'the boss' !

Best thread: Liberal for Life.
Board member with the best avatar(s): They all change so quickly. I liked Chad's Grover humping and Linda's ambigram, but both are now gone. I like that scotty catt in the hatt and Merry uses my favorite Lennon photo. At the other end of the spectrum, McGoo's makes me nauseous. All rightfully noteworthy (and duly noted), but my vote goes to tonyhemp and manon for their stalwart dedication to that which is sadly beyond our mortal grasp.
Boardie with the best signature(s): jessiemillano.
Most Creative Username: Bill.
Most attractive/sexiest boardmember: Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat (pregnant chicks are just hot), tinyAnnaca, LadyLiz, Sandra, KinkOlia.

Best "newcomer" (Registered after July 1st 2006): SF Awards 2006, Kristinonthehill.
Most improved boardie: BlueMolly2006.

Section Two - Music/The Arts

Best Beatles Newsgetter: feact.
Best Beatles knowledge: BeatleBarb, bec walker or GroupieClare. Maybe they should have a face off, ten questions in eight seconds.
Greatest overall musical knowledge: This is an odd category. Some people here can tell you which single was number one in the UK and number three in the US on November 18, 1978 and some of us consider that fan trivia, not musical knowledge. Some of us know the difference between polymetre and diotonic anacrusis and some people simply do not care. Some people have studied bands most of their lives, while some of us have studied music most of our lives. So my vote goes to the person who created the jazz video thread that quickly died, beep, beep, beep, beep, yeah. Plus, he likes Django and Trane.
Best music reviewer: invisible jones. SamwiseTom missed out because he thought "More Fool Me" was Phil Collins' first lead vocal. I mean, come on. Freakin' kids today.
Most talented poet: doris mendlovitz, Flickering Lauren. Oh, pointy wings. Oh, pointy, pointy.
Most talented storyteller: I have yet to read anyone's stories. Have your people contact my people and we might be able to set something up. Keep in mind that my office does not accept unsolicited manuscripts and we cannot and will not read anything that is not sent by a registered agent.
Most talented artist/animator: Blackbird1942, Emilee, Magical Mystery Lisa.
Most talented musician on the board: SamwiseTom. We classically trained musicians have to stick together or those rock and rollers might take over some day.
Biggest Beatles Fanatic: Lindascruff. Neither rain nor sleet nor emptiness of wallet will keep her from a McCartney concert halfway 'round the world. I cannot even be bothered if there is too much crosstown traffic.

Section Three - The Best Of The Year

Song Of The Year: Bach's English Suite No 2 in Am (BWV807) - Live at Alice Tully Hall, performed by a member of this very board.
Musical Artist/Group Of The Year: Spastic Kneejerks.
Album Of The Year: Anything but that godawful Ecce Cor Meum. Please, dear Buddha, make the voices stop.
Movie Of The Year: It is a toss up between The Inedible Hulk, The Da Virgin Code and Bareback Mountain.
Book Of The Year: Without Volume Diffusion In Oxides; Landolt-Bornstein: Numerical Data & Functional Relationships In Science And Technology - New Series Group 3: Condensed Matter by C Allen, D Beke, F Beniere and C Bruff. Man, I hope it wins.
Man Of The Year: I did not vote for this, but if I did, I would vote for OJ Simpson.
Woman Of The Year: Heather Mills McCartney. Us amputees are killa sexy.
Weirdo Of The Year: Egbo, the Chinese mudrat boy.

Section Four - Special Awards

The 'Mom' of the board: MaccasDiane. Yes, it is a sympathy vote, but who here deserves more sympathy right now.
The 'Pop' of the board: Major Olen Goble, USMC, Ret. Father, Marine and damn sexy topless.
Best overall contribution to all sections of the board: Lindascruff. You got a problem with that?
The 'broken pencil' award for pointlessness: Pointless Game Threads B – billyshears.
The 'Oscar' for grouchiness: Kermit. Ever since he went vegetarian and had to give up eating pork he has been a total assh*le, and maccagirl1428.
Best Use of Alternative English: Peter.
The 'Don't you have a job?' award for mega-posting: Dorothy. Yes, Merry and Linda have more posts, but they have been here since day one. Dorothy racked up over 3,000 posts in three months.
Outstanding Achievement in the Use of Casual Profanity: Me, of f*cking course. Beatnut is a close second.
The George Harrison award for Quality over Quantity: SherryO, Love Sculpture, Sher, KopiteSvenn.
The 2006 Strawberry Fields Boardie of the Year (one name only, please): Merry, without whom I would have never come here. Take that as you will.

Biggest Beatles Fanatic: Lindascruff. Neither rain nor sleet nor emptiness of wallet will keep her from a McCartney concert halfway 'round the world. I cannot even be bothered if there is too much crosstown traffic.

I just might bring the ambigram back, Moz. I kind of miss it.

And coming from you, this means a lot. Yes, I went to London for what was basically a weekend, but I got to see Paul at his house and that made the whole trip worth it.

Also got to meet Lauren and Bec, two really great people.

Thank you everyone who mentioned me for the nominations, especially for the kindest boardie ones, particularly from Moz8MyLissa and Andy. You guys rock. Without either of you, this board would not be what it is, which is pretty damn cool.

Tassy I especially thought the best contributions overall was so very excellent, and Olen, most improved??? :P But of course being mentioned in the sexy category by Bill was, um, most welcome.

I will get to my nominations soon. I've been just a leetle busy, though I'm sure not as busy as Betsy who deserves the nomination for Boardie Who Is Surviving Through the Holiday/Birthday Month From H@LL With Sense Of Humor Intact Award.

And folks, just in case you want to use it in the future, it's AYE. ^_^

Section One - General

Kindest boardie: QueenJudy, irenescreamer, JacaLisa, BlueJayne? Way.
Most helpful boardie: Audrey, Reverend Dave.
Most respectful board member: theonlyfabBetsy, Rose, Flickering Lauren, scottyBev, TassyLikeAnIcon.
Funniest boardie: Lovely Grace Meter Maid, JanaW, fab4John, Bill, MikeMc.
Most intelligent board member: Reverend Dave. We all think we are hot sh*t, but he has a PhD from Stanford. That means something where I come from.
Most politically astute boardie: Astute? No one here. This is liberofacist versus conservatofacist territory.
Most entertaining board member: Every last one of you. I would never come here if I were not amused.
Most honest boardie: modBridget1964.
Most 'cosmically conscious' boardmember: FionaByrd. Although I still need to kick her ass.
Most mysterious boardie: GaryCord, I suppose. I do not know jack sh*t about him.
Best thread starter: AndyLynnesBeard, GroupieClare. I do not like voting for moderators, but you gots to give props, yo.
Person you wish would post more: Bag O’Heidi, waitingforaTim, Zimmy. Where has he been?

Thanks for the acknowledgement. I see you under that tough NY exterior.
