'Tis the season, so I thought we could share and trade favorite online shopping sites, tips on how to get the best deals and other useful ways to save a buck here and there (don't say "Don't shop"!!)

I just heard on the radio this morning about a new shopping search engine that is being billed as the Google of the shopping universe. Just for fun, I ran a search for Beatles calendars and it is amazing what appeared!!! Try it out!!

It's thefind.com

it's £1.25 but an unofficial one, there is also a book of pictures of the boys from the Daily Mail at £5 or 6.99 and the Beatles Unseen by Mark Hayward at £6.99.

Amazon, though everyone knows about it, is truly the gold standard in shopping sites. I use it constantly and it never disappoints.

I like the Land's End overstocks site for various things http://www.landsend.com/cd/ov/frontdoor/0,...134424168192970

and these sites:

WebClothes (for kids but if you have them you know clothes can be pricey and these are not and the quality is good):

http://webclothes.com/children/Department.aspx

Blurb: this site is new and apparently you can create good-sized hardback books filled with your digital photos for $29.95. This looks really cool.

this morning my favourite money saving expert was on breakfast tv and he was saying that where ever you are in the world there are shopping 'bots' which will compare several retail stores on prices for a certain item you are after ;) try these before you buy to compare :)

I buy mostly from Amazon online. I hate to shop, so it is much easier for me. They have never messed up an order on me yet. Beatlefest, on the other hand--I just canceled an order with them. The stuff was in their Christmas catalog, but it won't be here by Christmas. I wanted the stuff for Christmas presents. Guess they get money, which will probably make them happier anyway.

I am a terrible shopper. I simply buy things for people when I see something I think someone might like.

Did you see that Karl Lagerfeld piece of sh*t? Oh dear God, what an ugly piano.

By the way, Moz, I was just gonna get you some booze. :P

The special collection pianos tend to go overboard. I will settle for (and would prefer) a traditional ebony case Concert Grand D.

With enough alcohol I might be able to look past the fact that I am using a...it pains me to say this, Yamaha.

Clearly I am one of those deprived unfortunates you hear about from time to time.
