Thanks, everyone!! I am being so severely bullied by one other company (Bec Walker, look out!) that I am handing in my notice. Working a footy match tomorrow night and then 2 Beverley Knight gigs with other companies this week. |

http://www.lords.org/mcc/staff-vacancies/v...ard,694,AR.html This is what I would be doing. I take the fact that even though the job is open til Friday, the fact they contacted me yesterday is a good sign...never thought I'd get this far already. I'd basically be second in charge of security.

Hey, that salary is fairly decent, is it not? Especially pro-rated over 8 months! Kick some ass, Lauren!!

It's reasonable, not that good but OK. I can command a salary of £17 an hour or more at some venues I work at. |

Huh. That equates to about $35,500 USD, which is a pretty good 8 month salary! It's about what a teacher makes here. |

It's not that much. It's £19,500 before the 25% tax I pay and Band 2 National insurance, plus that figure is what they pay over 12 months. So it's basically 2/3 of that and then taxes and sh*t are taken off, so more like "12,000. Needless to say, it's not going to be my only job; I shall keep on doing what else I am doing anyway in addition. |

http://www.jobsin.co.uk/show_job.cgi?j=372...lert&attr=hit_1 They readvertised it yesterday and I am wondering, now, compared with the old job requirements, if they're making it easier to get more applicants or is that just me? Also, on Monday the guy doing the hiring got back to the office and he emailed me to ask for an interview, although today is the job they close the job to new applicants. I'd have thought they'd therefore be calling on Monday. Do you think it's because they're that keen to get me? |

It is not a bad starting salary at all, for instance the starting salary for a teacher outside London is about that (and that you need a four year degree for). So good luck. There are many students in the south west of England without jobs they are trained to do so if you get it well done. |

I really hope the guy liked me. He is the one to make the decision and I am going to be second in command to him. I did however manage to describe a stand of another cricket ground and something that happened there and he was also familiar with it. He also likes the fact I live locally. |

well all companies have set rules as to apply etc for job interviews but half the time they go into the bin, the biggest thing is if the interviewer likes you personally because essentially all the people who came to the interview should be able to do the job. fingers crossed. |

Yeah, I think he was suitably impressed to be honest. But then again, there are other candidates and I bet they're all older than me and more experienced. |
