Not that I actually care about the status of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's relationship woes, but evidently he found out that she'd filed papers via text message (and curiously enough while on camera too). I think we are officially in the 'Bizzaro World' that Seinfeld fan's are oh so very familiar with. ===================== Minor snippet of article about this: By Belinda Goldsmith Updated: 4:10 p.m. PT Nov 10, 2006 UR dumped, Kevin Federline — and you are now part of a growing club of spurned lovers who have been ditched by text message. A video of Britney Spears’ soon-to-be ex-husband apparently getting a text message informing him that the pop princess had filed for divorce became the most viewed item on the YouTube Internet site Thursday, with more than 1 million hits. The Web video shows Federline taping a reality television show and talking about Spears being his biggest fan — until he gets a text message. Then he puts his head in his hands, rips off his microphone and disappears, returning 30 minutes later visibly upset. |

If you've read some of my vents, I hate all this technology. I hate cell phones and I abhor texting. At the premiere of Ecce, I met some people at the interval and the woman spent the entire time sending text messages. Needless to say, I felt invisible. At least her husband paid attention to me. Last night, I attended a volleyball match and the girl in front of me spent the entire match texting. What was the point of even coming if you can't leave the stupid phone alone. At least when people text, they aren't shouting into cell phones. Breaking up through a text is kind of like doing it through an email. It's a chicken way. |

I think it is obvious that most people will agree on how ridiculous breaking up via a text message is. I think it is ridiculous in general how people have come to depend so much on their phones. It's like if we couldn't text each other we would lose contact with everybody. I use my phone a lot, but I wish some people didn't think a text message is enough. |

I was dumped by email - does that count? It's the most cowardly thing possible in a relationship because it allows the dumper to not have to see the consquences of their actions. They get to log off without seeing how much they've hurt someone. But you can get caught as well. I ended up forwarding the message to all my friends and the opinion of all of them was that she was insane.

I like computers, but I despise cell phones. Bill, getting dumped by an email is about as cold as being dumped by a text message. Some of this new technology just isn't right. My boss does everything by email. I fully expect that if he ever decides to fire me, I will receive an email to tell me of that. I have come home from work and found an email waiting for me telling me of something that he wants me to do the next day. Why can't he just write it down and leave it at either my work email or a note on my desk. Why does he always CC me at home? I never should have given him my home email. However, when you find the job through Craig's List, they have your email. |
