1. When did you first hear Run Devil Run? Did you buy it for yourself and approximately how old were you?

I got the CD the day it came out. I think that was near the end of 1999. It's kind of funny how everyone else was looking to the future that year while Paul was looking at his past.

2. What were your first impressions of the album and what is your opinion of this album now?

I always loved it. Old fashioned rock and roll played by a band that really knows what they're doing, especially David Gilmour and Ian Paice.

3. If you care to, please rate the tracks out of 10 (1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest);

1. Blue Jean Bop - 8
2. She Said Yeah - 7
3. All Shook Up - 8
4. Run Devil Run - 9
5. No Other Baby - 10
6. Lonesome Town - 7
7. Try Not To Cry - 9
8. Movie Magg - 9
9. Brown Eyed Handsome Man - 7
10. What It Is - 8
11. Coquette - 8
12. I Got Stung - 9
13. Honey Hush - 8
14. Shake A Hand - 7
15. Party - 8

4. Are there any versions of songs on this album that you prefer to the originals?

Most of them are better here, except Brown Eyed Handsome Man.

5. Which is your favourite and least favourite track? Please give reasons!

This version of No Other Baby is as good as it gets. Paul's voice on Movie Magg is amazing. He could've been a great country singer. Fortunately he chose rock & roll. Unfortunately, I've heard Brown Eyed Handsome Man done better. Although, in the grand scheme of things, Paul clearing his throat would sound better than anything I could do.

Thank you again! :)

You're welcome again.

1. When did you first hear Run Devil Run? Did you buy it for yourself and approximately how old were you?

I heard it on the day of release - I bought it for myself and I was approximately 24 years old. ^_^

2. What were your first impressions of the album and what is your opinion of this album now?

I was a bit non-plussed - I thought it was an enjoyable enough rock 'n' roll record, but much prefer Paul performing original material. Now, although rating it as quite average, I enjoy it a lot more - it's a fun & exciting album, with a few exceptions.

3. If you care to, please rate the tracks out of 10 (1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest);

1. Blue Jean Bop - 7
2. She Said Yeah - 9
3. All Shook Up - 9
4. Run Devil Run - 8
5. No Other Baby - 7
6. Lonesome Town - 8
7. Try Not To Cry - 6
8. Movie Magg - 6
9. Brown Eyed Handsome Man - 7
10. What It Is - 7
11. Coquette - 8
12. I Got Stung - 7
13. Honey Hush - 7
14. Shake A Hand - 8
15. Party - 7

4. Are there any versions of songs on this album that you prefer to the originals?

Although Fiona was horrified by this, I prefer All Shook Up to Elvis' original, because it gives me more of an adrenaline rush.

5. Which is your favourite and least favourite track? Please give reasons!

My favourite track is All Shook Up for the reason listed above. My least favourites are Try Not To Cry and Movie Magg which I find unremarkable.

I bought the album as soon as it was released.

2. What were your first impressions of the album and what is your opinion of this album now?
I knew a lot of the songs as the original. I like Paul's way of singing them.

3. If you care to, please rate the tracks out of 10 (1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest);

1. Blue Jean Bop -4

6. Lonesome Town -10
7. Try Not To Cry -6

9. Brown Eyed Handsome Man -8
10. What It Is -5
11. Coquette -5
12. I Got Stung -3
13. Honey Hush -7
14. Shake A Hand -1
15. Party -2

4. Are there any versions of songs on this album that you prefer to the originals?
No Other Baby and Lonesome Town

5. Which is your favourite and least favourite track? Please give reasons!
Lonesome Town got a 10. I saw Paul perform this song on a tribute to Linda, one year after she died. It was his first appearance in public. He did this song as tribute to Linda and I got goose bumps.

The title song Run Devil Run is the least favourite track. IMO it's an attempt of Paul to make a rock and roll song like were written in the 50th.

1. When did you first hear Run Devil Run? Did you buy it for yourself and approximately how old were you?

I bought it when it first came out so I would have been 26.

2. What were your first impressions of the album and what is your opinion of this album now?

I liked it quite a bit, more than I thought I would. I think playing a bunch of old rock'n'roll was a great release for Paulat the time. And it's better than Choba B CCCP.

3. If you care to, please rate the tracks out of 10 (1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest);

14. Shake A Hand - 7
15. Party - 9

4. Are there any versions of songs on this album that you prefer to the originals?

Difficult, I'm a big Chuck Berry fan but this is a damn fine Brown Eyed Handsome Man

5. Which is your favourite and least favourite track? Please give reasons!

Brown Eyed Handsome Man is the best one here, a really good version and with Ralph and Ted in the video too. Difficult to rate some of them really as most are just a band having fun doing covers and I bet if I did this one again tomorrow most of the songs individual ratings would be different. Nothing really duff here though. Hmmm, this hasn't been a particularly enlightening review has it?
