This is a thread to tell everyone about your latest musical purchases and what you think about them. Whenever you buy a new album, let us know on this thread!
^_^ I'll start the ball rolling. I've received a few CDs I ordered recently and haven't listened to any of them, but am looking forward to them. They are; Highway Companion - Tom Petty Living With War - Neil Young My Flame Burns Blue (Live At The North Sea Jazz Festival) - Elvis Costello I'll let you know what I think of them when I've given them a spin (or two). :) |

HEAVY HORSES by Jethro Tull and ...BUT SERIOUSLY by Phil Collins came in the mail a couple days ago. I've listened to the Jethro Tull three or four times since then, and it's excellent indeed - Acres Wild, Weathercock, Moths, and especially the mighty title track are as good as anything the band has ever done.
^_^ As for the Phil Collins, I haven't gotten a chance to listen to that one yet. But judging by the songs I've heard off it before (Something Happened on the Way to Heaven, Another Day in Paradise, I Wish It Would Rain Down, and Do You Remember?) it ought to be pretty great.

If you haven't heard it before, Colours from But Seriously... is probably one of the best songs Phil Collins has ever written. I received another one of my recent purchases yesterday, The Cars' Greatest Hits. I've only ever heard one song by them, Drive, but have heard plenty of good things about them so decided to give their 'best of' a try. ^_^ Now I have four new albums to listen to... happy days! :D |

Recently bought Dylan's new album, Modern Times. It's very good, and reminds me of Love and Theft of a few years back. He's just like Macca in that he continues to crank out great stuff...never short on creativity. Also picked up John Mayer's, Continuum. It's good but not as good as his "Try" album. I really like his bluesy stuff. "Try", alone got me hooked on Mayer. Also got a Turtles' cd. The're great. I love the Cars, Andy! |

Well, I PLAN on buying Sean Lennon's latest album, "Friendly Fire" as soon as I can. I've heard parts of it and am very impressed. I think this is his best work to date, of course it's also only his second album. I'd recommend it though, he is growing and reminding me more of his dad as time goes along, but he's also his own person. :) Merry |

The Cars are brilliant Andy, one of the very first rock groups I got into - even before the Beatles actually! GREATEST HITS (1985) (which may or may not be the one you got) was my introduction to the group and to this day it's one of my all-time favourite discs. Magic, Just What I Needed, Tonight She Comes, Let's Go, You Might Think, My Best Friend's Girl... great stuff, Ric Ocasek is just about the mightiest hooksmith this side of Jeff Lynne. I have a feeling you'll enjoy it Andy. ;) ^_^ Posted Image |

The last album I bought and received was 'Ecce Cor Meum: Behold My Heart' but this weekend I've ordered all of Muse's albums - so I obviously don't have them yet. |

My latest purchase is the new Five For Fighting CD, but I can't remember the title. It's very good, a logical progression from their 2nd album, "The Battle For Everything" which I thought was a masterpiece. |
