Sandra & Sadie

I'm losing quite a bit of water from the engine of my car :( It seems like I'm refilling it every day :( :( I cant see the leak when stationary so must be losing it when I'm travelling :( It is quite an old car (M reg - 1994) but I had the water pump so called fixed just over 2 years ago and I dont really do alot of miles in it :( its buggin (especially when in a couple of weeks I have to make the long journey to scotland for my mates wedding :()

You might need to have the thermostat looked at.

John came to me in a dream and this is what he said. "I had a vision of a man on a flaming pie, and he told me that Betsy with a B not Lisa with a L is the biggest fan of mine". John trumps 'the boss' !

when the water pump went on it betsy - we changed the thermostat on it too :( we could tell that had gone because no warm air was coming through the car heating :( could that go so quickly ????

just get the hoses connections check or do it yourself with a rag then drive around the block and see if where it is wet. the hoses can deteriorate .

Talking about the thermostat that lets you know when the engine is over heating. If that isn`t working properly your engine could be running hot and using up too much water and you wouldn`t know it.

Jayne just spoke with my husband and his dad used to be a mechanic so he grew up fixing cars. He said check the seal on your radiator cap. If the seal is bad when you drive the heated fluid is escaping through the cap via steam. He said drive the car for a bit, stop and lift the engine and see if there is any sign of wetness around the cap. They are cheap to replace. He then said if you don`t see any sign of wetness around the radiator cap it could be a bad engine thermostat or sensor or a leak somewhere else in the system.
