1. When did you first hear Flowers In The Dirt? Did you buy it for yourself and approximately how old were you?

My brother brought it home on vinyl when it was released. I was but a kid.

2. What were your first impressions of the album and what is your opinion of this album now?

I recall it fit nicely into my then-perception of Macca music, which was mainly defined by his 80s output. I was only fleetingly aware of his connection to some older music that used to play around the house every now and then.

My view of the album has changed over the years. In all honestly, childhood nostalgia clouds my judgement a bit and makes me a somewhat forgiving of bits I honestly find weak - so I find it hard to be completely objective.

3. If you care to, please rate the tracks out of 10 (1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest);

1. My Brave Face - 7
2. Rough Ride - 5
3. You Want Her Too - 3
4. Distractions - 5
5. We Got Married - 4
6. Put It There - 6
7. Figure Of Eight - 5
8. This One - 9
9. Don't Be Careless Love - 3
10. That Day Is Done - 4
11. How Many People - 4
12. Motor Of Love - 3
13. Ou Est Le Soleil - 2

4. Which is your favourite and least favourite track? Please give reasons & please don't include the 'bonus tracks'!

This One is one of my all-time favourite Macca solo songs. There's something about the structure and build-up that gets to me, especially when the acoustic guitar comes in for the first time. The middle eight is also a spinning carnival of pop perfection, fitting perfectly with the song. I've found it to be the easiest and most effective song to use as a response to people who ask if Macca really made anything good in the 80s.

Ou Est Le Soleil just doesn't fit right. It sounds like a Press To Play outtake. Macca's "chanting"-structure songs are IMO a bit hit-or-miss, with an emphasis on the latter sadly.

Nice lyrics, but very bland musically.
Eh?
:P
I must have misread that, unless a little bit of magic happened.
