I AM THE BIGGEST JOHN FAN!
|
Hahaha
Andy. It certainly wasn`t a good sign at the beginning of the decade when Nancy Regan wore Wilma Flintstones dress to her husbands inauguration.
|
|
You say you want to save humanity but it`s people that you just can`t stand John came to me in a dream and this is what he said. "I had a vision of a man on a flaming pie, and he told me that Betsy with a B not Lisa with a L is the biggest fan of mine". John trumps 'the boss' ! I WAS ROBBED BY THAT DEVIL WOMAN

Most of the bands took David Bowie's 1973 look and stretched it out over a whole decade.
Don't get me wrong, there has been some utterly brilliant music produced in the 80's, but the production values nearly destroyed some established musicians' careers when they embraced the synthesiser and drum machine. It's no co-incidence that Paul's worst musical decade was the 80s - I don't think many would disagree.

Those mullets were scary. The 80's were not good musically for Paul--until Flowers in the Dirt, which has many songs on it that I love. |

I actually like some of the songs on "Press To Play"...but then some were force-fed to me by somene, stillt I happen to feel there are many he did during that time that were under-appreciated, in my opinion, anyway! I guess I'm in the minoritiy, I thought that there were quite a few good songs in the '80's...I know I was mesmerized by the videos that came out that decade. I was a child in the 80s and I remember loving Madonna and trying to dress up and mime to her stuff. Miming was so 80s. Ah the kids TV programmes fantastic. I was brought up on mainly American stuff due to where I was living. Can anyone remember 'Faerie Tale Theatre?' Big stars were in them reinacting many of the tradiotional fairy tales including Mick Jagger! |

The 80's were great. Synths and drum machines, nothing wrong with that! Just listen to Take On Me by a-ha, one of the best pop songs ever made. |

I grew up in the 80's! As soon as I saw this thread the memories of leg warmers, bright neon colored clothes and big hair immediately came to mind. I remember how MTV used to play music videos back then and children used to actually go OUTSIDE to play rather than sit inside with TV/Video games. I also remember Thriller by Michael Jackson and how scary that video was to me. Good times! |

I was 13 - 22 in the 80s. The music probably wasn't the best ever, but when you're that age it doesn't really matter. |
|
With great power comes great responsibility. With great age.... What was I going to say?
