One thing you can't buy and that you'll really want when your nipper comes along is sleep! Are your family going to help out with looking after the baby a bit for you? The new mums who cope the best are those with lots of support. :)

I have a family who will support me but my family live half an hour away and are so busy doing all sorts of stuff and Paul has to go on a training course at the end of this year so I either have the option of staying here at home, just me the baby and the rabbit (and tonnes of housework) or I could take the travel cot to mum's and stay there for the 3 days so I think i'll do that. I'll be getting up all night and looking after it in the day too. For them 3 days Paul is away i'll feel like a single parent :( but there's nothing you can do <_<

That's rough - I mean, those people who are permanently single parents will probably not sympathise too much, but it's important to have people around you who will share the burden. That means that you'll be able to stay heathy & keep a sense of identity & perspective. So many new mothers lose their sense of 'self' when a baby comes along because it takes up so much of their time & you seem to be doing everything for this demanding little person you don't have enough time for your own needs. I hope Paul understands that you'll need some time to yourself from time to time. :)

Yeah he understands that i'll need time to myself and he is going to be looking after the baby in the evenings and weekends when the baby is here to give me a break because i'll be getting up in the night and looking after the baby all day. I'm even thinking of going away for a week next month on my own just to have some time to myself.

My family will help out but to me, they've had their babies and I don't want to rely on them too much because my brother's partner is always bringing the kids down and although my mum loves seeing them, it means she has to entertain them, feed them and can't get any housework etc done and she is busy sorting grandad's estate out and doesn't need these burdens plus she has work and is running around for other people. I'm going to go and see her and dad tomorrow and spend some quality time with them :)

Well, it's great that you have a husband who understands that you need space & time to relax. I'm sure your parents will want to have the baby sometimes - after all, it's their grandchild. ^_^

It looks like you did a great job, Nat! But you should probably avoid giving your baby Sprite. :P ^_^

No that sprite is Paul's Fiona. We had the bottle up there when we were putting the furniture together :D

aww Nat! The room looks great! You're getting me all excited!

I know you have a lot of siblings...but is this your parents' first grandyoungin'?

Really though, everything looks great...and I'm SO happy for you!

Nat:

Lovely that you have the room and the stuff all ready to go! Thanks for sharing photos and bump photos with us.

I remember the days of sitting in the empty nursery with all the stuff, imagining the baby that was going to go in it. It was a dreamy time; and it got real interesting real fast when the real baby was there! :D

And now the real baby is five years old and going to kindegarten on Aug. 28. Ieee!

Nat, so sweet of you to share part of your world with us. First the wedding, now the baby. :) Just think -- in a few short weeks, your whole world is going to change!! Can't wait to see that same room in a couple more months, next time with your baby there!! :) B)

Why?

Wow Nat, you are really prepared...it won't be long now!

It seems like only yesterday when you were telling me how much you hoped to have a baby of your own one day, and now here you are! ;)

You look wonderful, Bump and all, and the baby's room is lovely!

Can't wait for the little one to be here!

Thank you for sharing the pictures with us!

:) Merry
