Never got into it Molly, but I hear rave reviews about it. Maybe when I get a break with school, I'll check it out. A lot of season finales going on right now! Desperate Housewives was great last night...also Gray's Anatomy last week.

Is any of LOST on dvd yet?

Well, here's another clue for you all, the Walrus was Paul...
I must admit that I love Lost as well...although I've had to "TiVo" it because it always plays opposite "American Idol"...which I also love.
I'm looking forward to the season finale of Lost...it said they would answer some questions...I hope so...FINALLY.

I am a major Lost fan. I often get on the internet to see who won AI, I live on the west coast so the results are already posted by 7 pm, than we watch Lost. The season finales this year has been really good. Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Will and Grace (series finale), and looking forward to season finale of 24 tonight as well. I love 24.

Okay, I hate it when a show makes me scream at the TV.
I almost had a heart attack at one point last night, because I thought Charlie was toast. Man, that was a good ending. I kind of felt bad for Michoel who had to choose between reuniting with Walt and saving his friends.
So what did you guys think (those who weren't watching American Idol).

Oh I'm a huge Lost fan. I suppose it's okay to post spoilers.

Here be SPOILERS by the way.

Okay, first isn't it a tad convenient that Desmond just happens to show up with the fail safe key and the boat, right in the nick of time A) so he could stop Locke and B) so Sayid could rescue Kate, Jack, Sawyer and Hurley? What kind of deus ex machina is this? I only bring it up because it's a little cheesy....not usually Lost quality plotting.

<_<

However the end was DYN-O-MITE! Looks like Henry Gale was in charge; no wonder he never broke down when Sayid tortured him.

Who thinks Michael actually escaped? Michael was such a turncoat, I have no sympathy for him. He'd shoot everyone on the island to get his own way.

Whoa -- and what was going on with Libby giving Desmond her husband's boat? Was she part of the Dharma group setting up some chain reaction in motion? And why was she in the mental hospital when Hurley was there? And do you know that bird that passed Kate, Jack, Sawyer and Hurley in the jungle actually said "Hurley"?

Anyone been to the Hanso Foundation website yet? Isn't it clever of ABC to cross promote their own TV show in a really sneaky way?

I want a Hanso Foundation t-shirt.

Okay enough rambling.

BTW, I think these guys :alien: :alien: :alien: are actually the ones in charge on the island. :P  ;)

Aliens would be waaaay too obvious! But then again what wouldn't be at this point?

The whole pneumatic tube thing tells me the journals they kept were useless, but was it a bigger experiment? Or just a cruel scheme to torture people with troubled pasts?

Are Locke, Desmond and Echo dead?

Are The Others ex-Dharma Initiative participants who rebelled or dropped out? And why did they need fake beards and sh*t?

And if Walt was soooo important to The Others last year, why the hell would they just let Michael drive off in a boat with him?

Gaaaaa! It drives me crazy to think about!

We've just finished watching the whole of the first series and are seriously hooked. We're hoping to rent the first part of the second series shortly so we can catch up with the TV episodes.

It's great - and, no, we haven't read the previous posts, so please no-one spoil it for us! ^_^

Am I pathetic or what?

Seriously though, anyone else looking forward to Lost? Ooh, let's talk about it after it's over too!

Anyone think that the island is really "The Village" from "The Prisoner"? ^_^

Loved the Prisoner!

However I still think they are all dead and in purgatory. How else can the dead walk (Jacks father), the disabled be healed (Locke and Rose) and those who sinned find redemption (Mr Ekko, Charlie, Sayed, ect)

I think they are all alive. Jack's dad is dead and only comes back in dreams. There has to be a magnetic field around The Island, if that is what it is, which would explain why Locke and Rose are 'cured' but once they are away from there, their problems should return. Don't you remember that they said if they were rescued that they wouldn't want to leave? Nobody has really been redeemed, just learning how to be better people. But the opening episode sure did open a lot of questions. One question, and I don't know how significant it will be, is what book was being discussed in the book club? I heard on the radio that it could have been The Stand where there is some sort of religious theme to it.

Well to start you off on the wrong foot, I'll add my limited perspective on the show :o ... hope you don't mind. ^_^ I've only caught a few episodes from that first season, and haven't really followed it much thereafter ... it totally struck me as something that was put together by someone suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder, and they wanted to condition the populous to get a sympathetic variation on that disorder.

Yeah ... that should start things off on the wrong foot, I think I succeeded in doing that ... doubtful that anyone else on the board will agree with me, because I fear they've all "caught" the nefarious ADD due to the sublimalities of the show (they really do want you all to get "lost" ... I'm totally convinced it's a conspiracy you see ). ^_^

Boy do you have that totally wrong, Icarus. It is a good show with so many twists and turns that it keeps you guessing. I have been watching it since the first season and am very happy that they are no longer showing reruns during the season. There are so many entangled webs that once you think you have one figured out another pops up. I love this show and always anticipate what is going to happen next. This show and 24 can be quite compelling to watch.

No it's not survivoresque ... well, not really. Basically the premise is that a plane load full of passengers goes down over the ocean, and some of those onboard survive and find themselves on an island that they presume to be uninhabited. The first season it appeared to me that the writers themselves may not have really known what to do within the overall of the plot, so they incorporated several parallel story lines utilizing these characters ... that's the part that makes me tend to think in terms of ADD. At times there wasn't a good deal of continuity between story lines or shifts between storylines, which obviously became a little like "eye candy" to some folks ... they didn't have to channel surf to find themselves watching several different plots occur within the same episode. I'm thinking the first and second season they weren't terribly prompt about delivering episodes ... so there was a good deal of repetition happening, where the same episodes would cycle through a couple of times. Some people "lost" interest due to that ... some became addicted due to that, and therefore got really excited when they'd throw 'em a bone and offer up yet another episode. Due to those delays, it seemed to me that they kept revamping things within those story lines ... people got killed off, people went "missing" ... there was some sort of abominable creature you only really got a sense of through the facial responses of the characters as they tried to figure it out. They decided that they needed to incorporate a few more twists ... so suddenly there's another side of the island with some "others" there, and more survivors, some guy that's underground and convinced that he needs to start WWIII.

Whatever. I'm convinced that GWB wouldn't have been reelected if the populous wouldn't have been glued to "Lost" and "The Desperate Housewives," but alas they were ... well those and "American Idol." So now we're all "desperately lost and longing for our idol's while taking up various positions regarding which judge on AI is the most annoying."

For someone that's got it all wrong I certainly have an interesting way of looking at my idiocity, right?

Icarus, elections are not done on Sundays or Wednesdays. I voted against Dumbass, as well as my boyfriend and many others on this board and we love Lost, Housewives, and even Idol. Not a very good characterization. As a matter of fact, I know more people who watch those shows that voted against Dumbass. Yes when they did so many reruns, people hated it, me included. Unfortunately it is a very expensive show to put on so they could only do so many at a time. The outcry last season was so loud that this season they just decided to NOT show ANY reruns. It has worked! They haven't thrown us a bone and the thinking person would understand that out of the 48 people on board the plane, we only saw like 25 people or so, there had to be more. If there is one side to an island, there has to be another side.

Hey I'm not trying to debase you're tastes or anything ... that's just my sentiment on the darned thing. I'll hold off and wait until they conclude the blasted show ... release the whole thing as a DVD set, and avoid the highs and lows that those that have followed the series have indicated that they've experienced due to the schizophrenic nature of how it's been divvied out thus far.

:poke:... sheesh, talk about not being very willing to laugh at the inane American TV devotee's.

Give me a break, I was characterizing the entire 300 million citizens of the US ... I was being ludicrous more than pretentious, besides I kind of thought my comments were more directed at the writers and the studios.

Only in a developed country will people take a critique of a television show so personally ... I mean, there have got to be other things to get attached to out there or am I being pretentious again?

No compromise was needed but why talk about a show you know little about? That would be like me coming on here and saying how bad Seinfeld and categorizing the viewers as being intellectual airheads whilst I didn't want to watch the show and only knew about it based on the little snippets I did see in commercials and reruns.

Enough. It took me awhile to get hooked on the show as I did not want to watch it. My boyfriend, who is not big on tv, sat and watched it twice and told me about it. When he got excited about the next show, consistently, is when I started watching. Yea, some of it is kind of hokey but a good hokey. Good fun.

My oldest son is totally into LOST. He tells me I would love it, but I've never watched it, and don't have the time to watch more t.v. He has told me you have to start over, like most series, and watch from the beginning if I get into it.

The last time he told me I would love a show, and I don't watch that much television, was the Sopranos.....the rest it history. I came home after watching one episode at his house, ordered HBO, and have been having "Soprano Sundays" ever since.

He's also met some wonderful people, some he has met, and others who he chats with regularly at the show's message board....sort of like what has happened here. :)

Well thanks for the levity on that Barb ... trust me I'd love to have the time to commit to getting "hooked" on something that's escapist in essence, but alas at the moment my time is a little overbooked and this site ends up being my guilty pleasure for the most part.

By the way does anyone remember the buzz that occurred around the "Luke and Laura" storyline on General Hospital back in the mid-80's? That was when I was in high school and people were missing classes just to keep up with the day-to-day happenings on that show (daytime soap opera) ... sometimes I end up having a flashback of that time frame when I come across these things as an adult. Trust me at the time I was right there missing some classes like the rest of the pubescent throngs to follow the story ... just can't quite justify it at this point in my life. -_-

I still watch at least one of my soaps every now and then. Usually about once or twice a month. Yes I watched the Luke and Laura thing but from the beginning when Genie Francis first joined the show as Laura Vining Webber.

 I remember the whole Luke and Laura storyline. That was when I first started watching General Hospital. I've been hooked ever since.

My oldest son is totally into LOST.  He tells me I would love it, but I've never watched it, and don't have the time to watch more t.v.  He has told me you have to start over, like most series, and watch from the beginning if I get into it.

I think the original Carly is now on Cold Case, not sure though. I'll take Jax for myself.

Everyone. Stop badgering "Ickie". She ? simply shared a few random thoughts about a TV programme. Nothing to get hung about. I like the contrast raised between TV and the internet and REAL life.

BTW, may I call you Ickie ? I don't mean to melt your wings or anything else. :P

I thought that perhaps I should respond to this, because I'm pretty sure that this was placed at the very same time that I edited that post of mine above (same timestamp) ... and so I think you were originally responding to what I'd stated there, rather than the image that I replaced it with.

... yeah, it would be "she" so you're alright there. ;)

As for what to call me, that's up to you ... well, as long as it's within reason then I'm willing to respond (generally speaking).

Okay, all I can say is tonight's LOsT season finale was good. I kept changing the channel though because I knew Charlie was going to get killed and I didn't want to see it. BUT I did see him die and I cried my head off. At lease he died a hero and I loved the note he wrote to Desmond.
The whole thing with Jack and Ben was interesting. And WTF was it at the ending with Jack and Kate. They act on the island that they didn't know each other, yet they knew each other in the past?
Now I get to wait until January 2008. I don't know if I can wait that long.

That wasn't the past, it was the future. They didn't know each other before. Why did you think Jack was talking about regretting leaving the island? It was very confusing and I can't wait till 2008 when the next season comes on.

Me, too. The reason why Jack kept trying to fly every weekend and have the plane crash, my boyfriend theorized, was that he has survivor's guilt. What I would like to know is the newspaper article he found on the plane had somebody dying. Who was it?

I heard that next year, the producers (coming from their own mouths) are going to focus a lot on the baby. Very interesting that he started crying the moment that Charlie died.

I know now it was a flash forward. I have no idea who the funeral was for, maybe Ben?
I think Aaron (the baby) sensed that Charlie had died for some reason. I know I was crying like a baby when he died. That was a moving scene. Charlie was one of my faves.

Here's a close-up of the newspaper... the dead person's first name starts with "J" ;)

I have a feeling it's Sawyer. His name starts with a J, he doesn't really have any friends or family that would go to his funeral. I bet Kate has a falling out with him or something so she wouldn't want to go to the funeral either. I suppose it could also be John Locke... I mean, he wants to stay on the island so it would make sense for him to kill himself after getting back to the real world.

If you look closely at the letters that you see after J it says something like "antham" of New York. Sawyer's real name is James Ford and he doesn't sound like he's from New York. I think Juliet is from the east coast.

Yeah, but Juliette had family. I mean, her sister would come at the very least. Plus she was a successful fertility doctor, so why would she have her funeral in a poor black neighborhood?

If I remember back a couple of episodes, wasn't she told her sister died? There is speculation that it could have been either Michael or Walt, I don't think so.

Yea, Ben told Juliette her sister was dead to keep her on the island, but if you remember later Ben shows her a little film of Juliette's sister and niece playing together proving that they were alive. And I agree, I doubt it was Micheal or Walt, their names don't even start with J.

WOW.....I don't see a 'LOST' thread in this catagory so I think I'll start one...

I'm actually a late comer to this show....3 weeks ago Gary and I were talking about it and I'd never seen it...he'd seen up to the middle of series 3 I believe...

Well...in three weeks we watched series ONE, TWO, AND THREE.... getting ready for Series FOUR.... THis is the MOST addictive show I've seen in AGES!!!

Does anyone here watch the show? Any theories on it? It's become a bit of an obsession with us!!! :P :hyper:

I'll get the ball rolling.....

Who do you think the Oceanic 6 are?
Who is in the coffin in series 4 episode one?
Do you think Ben is really one of the GOOD guys?
Where is Walt?

TALK TO ME!!! ;)

I'm not obsessed with it, but I do watch it when it's on. I've been watching it since it started, although with some skepticism. I thought it was kind of a silly idea when it started, but by the end of the first season I couldn't believe how amazing it was. I tried to follow the Lost Experience in Season Two and it looks like they're starting it up this year.

I have to say, though, the "Flashforwards" are easily the most innovative idea J.J. Abrahms could have come up with.

I've gathered all of the lost 'LOST' threads (you see what I did there? ^_^ ) and have merged them into one big LOST thread.

I won't be reading it though, because Fiona and I are catching up and are only a few episodes into Season 3. ;)
...and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.
