I love these couple of weeks where the American (Major) League plays the National (minor) League.

Today the White Sox came out wearing throwback uniforms to 1906 celebrating their 100th anniversary World Series title over the hapless Chicago Cubs. Whom by the way they play today and are going for the S-W-E-E-P! Posted ImagePosted Image

Oh did I mention we are DEFENDING World Champs?Posted Image

Hey how about the Tigers?! I am so shocked at how they're doing this year! Let's hope there's some World Series games in Detroit again!

I was a HUGE Tigers fan back in the Kirk Gibson and Chet Lemon days!

Kirk was my favorite player at the time. I remember sooo p*ssed when he went to the LAD. But what he did in the 1988 WS had me jumping around the room like a fool. To come in and do that and limp around the bases was/is one of my favorite baseball memories.

My brother-in-law lived in Livonia and was a HUGE Tigers fan. He moved to LA LA land and became a Dodgers fan. While out there is when he became my B-I-L. We were driving a U-Haul back from CA to Indiana. We were at a roach infested motel in Oklahoma City watching that Gibson gimp-leg homer.

Have you seen the beer ad where they imitate the homer on the softball diamond?
And why don't I think you'd have missed a beer ad?(we need a *wink* emoticon.) ;) (I guess this is it?)

I laughed my ass off at that ad! Funny thing is, I don't remember what beer it was for.

My 12 year old girl is a BIG Aaron Rowand fan. Of course she was devastated with the Thome trade. She asked me to take her to Wrigley so she could see him play. YEAH RIGHT. So 2 weeks ago I secure tickets to the Phillies - Brewers game. Right behind the Phillies dugout, first row. That night Aaron made his famous catch. The one that prevented him from being in Milwaukee.

Well we still went to the game last Thursday afternoon. Gigi got a ball from Victarrino and Bobby Abreu's batting gloves. Talked to Pat Gillick who was seated close to us and he took down our address. Today Gigi got a package from the Phillies with a personalized signature from Aaron on a postcard-sized color photo. Mr Gillick also sent a Phillies team calendar with a note asking us to "root a little for the Phillies too."

You hear everything that stinks in baseball nowadays, Gillick and Rowand made a fan for life today. (Oh yeah, the 2005 White Sox had that covered.)

Why don't the Cubs have a web site? - They can't put 3 W's together.

(It wouldn't get any hits anyway.)

I crack myself up. :D

The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today
Is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips
Then walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyle.
That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.--dcTalk

Congrats Bridget! Looks like your Tigers will be in the playoffs. 1st or wild card, it looks like that is up to them. At the risk of offending an Australian Twins fan, GO TIGERS!

God that hurt. ;)

OMIGAWD!! The Dodgers just did something that hasn't happened in 42 years. The scenario, bottom of the 9th down 9-5 against the San Diego Padres at Dodger Stadium. Been a cliff-hanger of a game until the 9th when the Padres broke it open. The Dodgers hit back-to-back-to-back-to-back homeruns. 4 homeruns to tie the game. One was nearly in the parking lot hit some 475 ft. The game is now tied but have to go to bed soon, damn!!!!
