The scores from today's matches are as follows; Argentina 6 - 0 Serbia & Montenegro Netherlands 2 - 1 Ivory Coast Mexico 0 - 0 Angola Did anyone else see the Argentina game? Absolutely phenomenal! I wouldn't be surprised if they go on to win it. I don't think even Brazil could touch a performance like today. matts - you should bet for money, because on your current form you'd make a fortune! Congrats on predicting the Holland game correctly, you're the only person who gone one completely right today! They were awesome - I've rarely seen a team play as well... and they really were a team in every sense of the world. So much individual brilliance combined with collective skill and discipline - they were pure class. Likely winners, in my estimation, but anything can happen in football.

If we loose that game we may end up playing Germany. That may not be good for England on German soil. The German's are bound to do well, and if it ends on penalties we may be going home.
So come on England!

The scores from today's matches are as follows; Japan 0 - 0 Croatia Brazil 2 - 0 Australia France 1 - 1 South Korea So France continue their disasterous world cup - they're a shadow of their former selves. Sad to see, really. Australia may have lost, but they played with passion & pride and can be very proud of themselves. The score flatters Brazil, to be honest, who didn't particularly shine. Congratulations to Grace and Colin who both predicted the Brazil v Australia match correctly. From Reuters; DORTMUND, June 18 (Reuters) - Togo's World Cup squad said on Sunday they had settled their long-simmering pay dispute with the national football association. Earlier in the day, the players had refused to leave their base in Wangen until the row over pay and bonuses was settled. As a result, they missed their scheduled morning flight to Dortmund where the team were due to face Switzerland in their second Group G match on Monday. "There was a some uncertainty this morning, but the money and the premiums for the team have now been agreed," midfielder Thomas Dossevi said after completing a re-arranged evening training session at the Dortmund's Westfalenstadion. "We have not actually received the money yet but we were given an assurance by FIFA that it will be paid in the coming week. FIFA have guaranteed the payment." Dossevi said the players had agreed to lower their initial demands of 155,000 euros ($196,300) each to play and 30,000 euros for each win, but would not reveal the new figures. I think Togo will be playing. |

My predictions are based on the fact that Trinidad & Tobago need to win by three clear goals or more to have any chance of qualifying while Sweden just need to hang on for a draw to get through

I also think it's highly likely to be a draw between Sweden & England, but my patriotism and hopeless optimism has got the better of me.
