Nope not me Mark. Have you?

I'm reading it at the moment, for a Doctor Who novel written 10 years ago it seems to have a lot in common with the current show.

So Mark, do you think we will see a Children In Need episode before 'Runaway Bride' on Christmas day so to link this bride with the episode like they did for David last year?

I doubt it, it becomes less special if they do a Children In Need episode every year. Remember The Five Doctors was 1983 and Dimensions In Time was 1993. I reakon there will be a Who relanted item of some sort though, maybe involving Russell T. Davies, K9, a delek and a big cheque.

The Five Doctors was the 20th anniversary special and was show as part of that years Children In Need (even though it's 90 minutes). Dimensions In Time was made especially for Children In Need and featured a bunch of Doctors and companions being chased around Albert Square by The Rani and meeting the cast of Eastenders. It was in two seven minute parts, part two being shown as part of Noel's House Party the next night.

Heard of it, but I haven't read it! I own a few of the New Adventures, but I've hardly got round to reading any of them!
Hopefully Doctor Who will get some sort of coverage for Children In Need. Not sure what though!

It refers to The Doctor as the oncoming storm and as what the monsters have nightmares about. There is a secret group in it who handle aliens on earth, they've been around for years waiting for The Doctor to show up and believe him to be the enemy but he's never heard of them. Companion Benny has trouble between the three men in her life, The Doctor, her husband Jason and her father Issac who she long believed to be dead. Any of this sound familiar?

I think, perhaps Kate Orman should write an episode after so much of her stuff has been nicked anyway.

I guess this answers our question as to what is happening during Children In Need:
Doctor Who – A Celebration

Wales Millennium Centre will play host on Sunday 19th November to the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the BBC National Chorus of Wales as well as stars from Doctor Who in a spectacular in aid of BBC Children in Need...

The BBC’s multi-BAFTA award winning drama Doctor Who are working together with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales to stage a spectacular one off event in aid of BBC Children in Need on the 19th November.

The star-studded concert which will take place at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff will feature the BBC National Orchestra of Wales performing selections of Murray Gold’s celebrated incidental score, accompanied by a host of stunning visuals from the most recent series of Doctor Who.

The audience can also expect live appearances from some of The Doctor’s greatest enemies including the infamous Daleks and the villainous Cybermen.

David Tennant who plays the time travelling Doctor has confirmed that he will be on hand to take part in a question and answer session alongside Doctor Who Writer and Executive Producer, Russell T Davies and Murray Gold. ....

Ticket prices will include a donation to BBC Children in Need and the official programme will also have proceeds going to the BBC Children in Need Appeal.

Kicking off at 18.30pm on Sunday 19th November, tickets can be bought and booked directly from the Wales Millennium Centre from 20 October 2006 - prices are £20, £16, £14, and £10. Children under the age of 16 will be half price.

Saw a trailer just before the 6 o'clock news tonight.

One of my friends said to me today that they heard on the radio that David Tennant is going to be in a Doctor Who musical in Cardiff in Novemeber! I think they were probably referring to the music concert thing, which David will be attending to do questions and answers.

Aha, yes Muse did a great version of Feeling Good on Origin Of Symmetry! I also love the 'original' Nina Simone version.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed that they couldn't use the original music on the DVD release, especially Snow Patrol - 'Run' over the final montage of the 9th Doctor's finest moments.

Man, next Tuesday, I have booked Monday pm and Tuesday all day off as a friend is coming to stay. I may suggest a trip to Cardiff (depending on her return train time back to London). Although not too sure what she will make of that - I took her to see Franz Ferdinand and she was impressed there. (She isn't really into music like me).

Did you say hello to her Mark? :D

No I didn't, another thing I can't quite afford at the moment (although I have finally got a job interview coming up!).

Well I'd imagine people will be getting there pretty early (I will be!) to get in queue for the signing at 12! I'm not sure how long she'll be signing for, cause apparently she's gotta be in Swindon by 5pm that evening!!

If that is the case I may not go to the signing only Cardiff - I haven't told my friend about the Billie bit yet! Ooops. I'll give Waterstones a ring and see what the plan is. The book should be interesting because I have read a few articles about it. I think we may go to Cardiff because its another city to explore - it would be a bonus if there was any filming going on! :D I somehow doubt as there will be many Who fans in the area for Billie anyway.

Aha, yeah that's probably a good idea to check what's going on with Waterstones! Have to see how early I can get there, as I'd imagine that with Cardiff being the "home of Who" it'll be a pretty popular event!

And I wonder how much they will be charging for the book. According to their website it is cheaper than the marked price - so will it be that price I wonder?

Waterstone's Cardiff

Signing, no ticket required
The enormously popular actress will be signing copies of her revelatory new autobiography.

Isn't this the one we were standing outside of late that night when we actually met her? :D

I've got a feeling that they'll be selling them at full RRP, after all, they've got a captive audience who all need to buy a copy!

It is indeed the very same Waterstones! :)

Thought Billie came across very well on Jonathan Ross this evening. Nice to have two companions on there :D

Yes she did come across well. I have a feeling was more fond of David than Christopher (I''m not implying she fancied either). She just didn't really have much to say about Chris but a lot about David. 10 inches! :D

That will be strange (thats if I go) seeing her where we spoke to her last. What were your impressiones of Catherine? Do you still like her? :)

Lady Macca this is a thread all about Doctor Who, its a BBC Sci-Fi series about a time travelling hero and he happens to have a femail companion. The last two series had Billie Piper and she has now left - many fans (particularly male) will miss her. I am female and thought she was fab and will be a hard act to follow.

Well Catherine came across as a really nice lady, but I must say, I still really dislike her show. I just don't find it funny! Sure she'll be great in Doctor Who though as she's a talented actress.

Just under 3 hours until Torchwood by the way :D

Yeah, and its a double bill. :D Ive been told to keep quiet at work tomorrow, my mates at work who are Who fans dont have freeview so will be waiting for it to be shown on BBC2.

I managed to look at Billie's book in town yesterday. I'm still not sure if I'm going yet, because if I get the all clear from an email tomorrow I will be spending any money I have left on 2 Muse tickets. :D If I do go, I'll be with a mate and look forward to possibly seeing you.

Me neither, well I have been to Doctor Who related signings, but never a proper one like this in a Waterstones. I'm just glad this isn't a complicated affair where you need to queue for a wristband first, like the Macca signing in London last year.

I'm gonna start looking at train times once I decide how early I want to get there!

Well that was interesting. I can see why its on after 9. And I can see a possible link with the Doctor in another series should this become successful. Anyway back to the TV to watch the next episode. Catch you all tomorrow.

Gosh, well Doctor Who it ain't!
I enjoyed the first episode, but not the second as much. I thought the premise was a bit lame, and I started to get bored mid-way!

Still, I thought John Barrowman and Eve Myles particularly were brilliant. I also liked Burn Gorman's character (Owen Harper).

Nice twist with Suzie Costello too.

Yeh, you're probably right. I seem to remember RTD saying that he put quite a bit of swearing early on the first episode to make it clear that it's not a kids series.

Was definately not for kids. I did enjoy it. It was also very Welsh.

Looks like I may not be able to go to see Muse as my sister won't be in the country. :(

Thats exactly what I thought as I saw the excitement in the kids when I was teaching. So they will be told 'only Mummy and Daddy can watch it.' Although I wouldn't put it past some parents who let their young children have TVs in their room and allow them to watch it at any time.

Well I can say yet again that Billie Piper is really really nice and I'm glad I went to Cardiff today. I was very surprised when she said to me 'I have seen you twice before.' So a little conversation went on there. :)

Thanks Matt for letting me jump the queue, it saved a lot of time and allowed us to still enjoy Cardiff for the rest of the afternoon. Right, I'd better start reading this book.

Yeah, it was a great day, and Billie was lovely. It was a fairly rapid session, but she had a lot of people to get through!
I've read up to chapter 7 so far (good going for me!) and it's very interesting and well written.

If you go to the Amazon books page here then you can see a video of Billie talking about her book.

Edit: On second look, it seems that its random whether the clip pops up or not!

I'll check that when I get home. I noticed one of the local papers in Sainsbury's this morning had a feature on her. I havent really read mine yet - I'm a bit reluctant as to whether to take it on the bus with me as it may wear out etc.

So Torchwood on BBC2 tonight for those who haven't yet seen it.

The travelling part counts for both of us - but thanks to you I didn't have to queue up for hours like you did. It's a pity there wasn't a picture of her there on that site. I bet you were tired when you got home.

P.S. Signed copies are .. yes you guessed on ebay. One I saw for £39.99.
