It was only 30 minutes long but you heard a bit of Substitute and We Won't Get Fooled again. A bit about the history and fans queuing up for tickets (concert was last Sunday). Yes Ill have to play my Dads Live at Leeds LP. Ive got really bad ear ache at the moment - not a good thing to have before you go to a Who concert. Its the concert that usually gives you one! :D

That was pretty good - the possesed little girl was very well played and the whole story was good and creepy. Reminded me a bit of Father's Day, with the Doctor out of it for the climax.

However, as for the 'next time' trailer, gosh!

The final two episodes look amazing! I wonder if they'll be able to top Bad Wolf/The Parting Of The Ways!!

I. Cannot. Wait! :D

Looks like Tracy Anne-Oberman has a big role in it, and lots of Torchwood and Cybemen action! I just don't want to see the end of Rose!

I loved the scene in the street with Rose and the "council" pick-axe :D

Yeah Rose was fantastic through out. And again links to how she will leave - not great to hear. The Doctor was a father? When was that? The girl's mother played a lover of Casanova so has worked with Russell before.

Ah yes, I'd heard that someone from Casanova was going to be in it.

Ah well, we don't really know, but for the first few years of the original series the Doctor had his granddaughter "Susan" with him. The first ever episode was called "An Unearthly Child", referring to Susan (some clips of her were shown in Doctor Who: Confidential tonight).
Other than that, we know very little about the Doctor's family (although I think some of the novels expanded on it a bit).

I really want to try and rewatch all of series 1 and series 2 so far leading up to the final 2 parter! That's 25 episodes! (including The Christmas Invasion). Well I don't have much else to do so I could give it a go! :D

Im still quite shocked about Thursday. Anyway here's something I found:

Sunday 25 June 2006 05:13pm
24 June 2006
PATRIOTIC PIPER
Eva Simpson & Caroline Hedley
SHE'S travelled the universe in the Tardis, but Billie Piper says she won't be jetting off to Hollywood any time soon.
The Doctor Who actress insists she isn't tempted by the glamour of Tinseltown and would prefer to star in lowkey indie films.
She said: "There are lots of great movies coming out of the US but it's not something I'm ever really interested in."
What, even if a big role came up? She said: "Yes, I'm happy in the UK. I absolutely love it and I've finally got a great group of friends.
"I've got a lovely little flat and my work's here."

The baddie from The War Games, whose name I forget!
Davros was always good value for money!
John Lumic, from Rise Of The Cybermen.

Good guys:
Um, this is a bit trickier! Can't think of any at the mo!

Oh yeah, Nancy from The Empty Child was really good.
And Scooti from The Impossible Planet.

Hehe, no I didn't think that!
I met her at a signing in a shop. I still need a fair few autographs in my magazine. Hopefully I'll be able to get Shaun Dingwall and Jimmy Vee in a few weeks.
I know John Barrowman is at an event in London soon but I don't think I'll be able to go, plus you have to pay for each autograph!

Billie: I don't want a penny from Chris

Billie: I took drugs and thought about suicide
By NICOLE LAMPERT, Daily Mail

Billie Piper has admitted she experimented with drugs and contemplated suicide at the height of her pop fame.

The 23-year-old star, who has won new popularity as an actress on Dr Who, said that she became so miserable at being exploited while a teenager that she became close to breaking point.
'My eyes were vague and dead, and my mouth was smiling without feeling, in a false pose I'd become accustomed to,' she said. 'I can't remember much - is that good or bad?
'I had a very dark moment at 16 when I didn't want to be here anymore, but I did nothing about it, thank God.
'I was a little girl from Swindon, but managers and others work you to death, and you become exhausted and bitter.
'I was young, green, and taken advantage of. There was a massive financial rip-off and, although I was working twice as hard as I am now, I was left with hardly any money.'
Miss Piper was a child star from the age of 14 when she released her first hit single Because We Want To.
When she was 17 she had several fainting fits which led to accusations that she had tried drugs - something she denied at the time.
Speaking about her drug use she added in an interview with Radio Times: 'I tried all those things, but it never became a problem. I was so green and that's what saved me - otherwise I may have got into it more because everyone else was and it seemed like fun.
'I had my head in the clouds, was mad, neurotic and self-destructive, a very different character to the one you see today.
'I was saved mostly by my parents, friends and boyfriends but it could have gone either way.'
The actress credits estranged husband Chris Evans, who has previously admitted he was close to a breakdown before meeting Miss Piper, with saving her life.
'Chris and I found each other when it could have gone badly for both of us, and we saved each other from our worlds of madness.'

Money

Also in the interview, Miss Piper insisted that she will not be getting any money from Evans, who is worth £30million, in their forthcoming divorce.
Hitting out at women who go for large settlements when they split with millionaires, she said: 'I'm not taking a penny from him. That's disgusting.'
Miss Piper, 23, and Evans, 39, have remained friendly since their four year marriage foundered nearly two years ago.
The actress has bought a £2million house just a few doors away from Evans' West London home, where she lives with her law student boyfriend Amadu Sowe, and she was also the first guest on his ill-fated ITV1 chat show eight months ago.
Miss Piper said the pair's divorce will come through in September. Although her wealth is not in the league of her ex-husband, who was recently made the £540,000 a year face of Radio 4's drivetime after a string of television flops, she was paid an estimated £100,000 for her part in Dr Who while she will get £250,000 to play the title role in BBC1's adaptation of the Philip Pullman Sally Lockhart mysteries.
The actress hinted that one of the reasons she had quit her award-winning role in Dr Who as assistant Rose Tyler was because she missed her 28-year-old boyfriend so much. And she said she was so happy that she was considering having children with him.
'The longer I stayed the more scared I'd be of leaving because it's so comfortable and nice,' she told the Radio Times. 'I'm utterly grateful for the whole experience, but you have to take care of yourself and do what you feel is right.
'We filmed in Wales for nine months and I didn't like being away from home. I enjoy being domesticated, washing-up and cooking dinner for my boyfriend.
'I'd love to have kids but I don't know how people manage with a job like this. It's the one thing you really can't afford to f*** up. So many people have kids willy-nilly.'

Billie's Dark Moment
Billie Piper has revealed that during the height of her teen pop fame she was in a very worrying place.

The Doctor Who actress also admitted to trying drugs and "drinking too much".

Billie, 23, told the Radio Times: "I can't remember much - is that good or bad? I had a very dark moment at 16 when I didn't want to be here anymore, but I did nothing about it, thank God.

Of her pop career she said: "I was young, green and taken advantage of. There was a massive financial rip-off."
Discussing drugs, she added: "I tried all those things, but it never became a problem. I was so green and that's what saved me - otherwise I may have got into it more because everyone else was and it seemed like fun.

"I had my head in the clouds, was mad, neurotic and self-destructive, a very different character to the one you see today."
Billie also said she will not seek any financial settlement in her divorce from millionaire Chris Evans.
The couple married in 2001, when she was 18 and he was 34, and split in 2004.
She said: "Chris and I found each other when it could have gone badly for both of us, and we saved each other from our worlds of madness.
"I'm not taking a penny from him. I think that's disgusting."

That's not the scene I meant, no. But the ray effect you mention was also quite interesting :)

I only saw the end as the tennis was on downstairs - which by the way the British do have something to feel happy about as Murray has beaten Roddick. :D What I did see of the episode looked very very good and obvioulsy next weeks is going to be sad.

Yep, gonna be quite an experience. A friend of mine who's gonna be there watched an episode of the old series at a convention once, and he said it was a brilliant atmosphere!

It was quite cool when Mickey turned up, cause even though I knew he would be in it (Radio Times listed him), it still came as a great surprise when you first see him!

Wow! 4 covers in a year.

There are 2 alternative covers for this week, so I guess that ups the total to 5, sort of :)

1. "Look Who's Back" - New Earth week
2. "Welcome Back?" - Rise Of The Cybermen week
3. "What Billie Did Next..." - Army Of Ghosts week
4. "Battle For The World" - Doomsday week

I can't see the Daleks allying with the Cybes, but they might pretend to, and then try and wipe out the Cybermen as well as the Earth.
The Cybermen want to convert people, and the Daleks just want to destroy everything that isn't a Dalek! :D But what is the "Genesis Ark", that the Daleks are protecting?

Last night me and some friends were at a Comedy club, and speaking to one of the comedians afterwards, we realised that she was in Doctor Who back in the 80's ("Earthshock", with Peter Davison and the Cybermen!). She was very pleased that we remembered her character (Professor Kyle) :)
Most bizarre! Got an autograph of course :)

Yeah, I don't think I'd ever ask if I met someone in public, but she was there as a performer and actually once she realised we were Who fans, she said "so anyone want an autograph?" :)

There's a rumour floating about that the new companion will be named by the BBC at midnight tonight.

If you don't want to know who is allegedly is, then look away now...

it's Freema Agyeman, who was in Army Of Ghosts. She played the girl who got the cyber-implant in her ear when she wandered into the place with all the plastic sheeting. I guess she'll be playing a different character, as she ended up dying in Army Of Ghosts! (Apparently the new character is called "Martha Jones"). Although we didn't see much of her, from what I did see she was very good, and will make an excellent companion. :)
