Matt Smith has taken the role and made it's own in one fell swoop. The Doctor is dead, lomg live The Doctor!

Observations and questions from "The Eleventh Hour" - The new intro with a clouded time vortex and the new version of the DW theme (which sounded like it had hints of the "X-Files" theme thrown into it) made it look and sound like from a scary film. Did I notice new bumper sticker on the right door of the TARDIS? It wa...s round and all I saw mentioned on it was something about an ambulance. What's the story on the sticker? I was a little thrown off by the time of all the events that happen in the first few minutes: When the damaged TARDIS crashed in Amy Pond's yard, shortly after the Doctor regenerated, is this still going on in the same day of "The End of Time" in 2009/2010 when we see Amy as a young girl? Or did the Doctor go back 12 yrs in time to 1997/1998 when he crashlanded where Amy is a young girl? Or is The Doctor in 2022 when he meets older Amy? What I'm trying to ask is is the Doctor in the present (2010) when he meets young Amy or older Amy? The new design sonic screwdriver we see is the one that was first shown to his previous incarnation by River Song in "Forest of the Dead"?

I guess a lot of people either love the new Doctor or don't like him. I listen to this podcast called, The Random Timelords (my friends Steven Perez and Amber Spence do it) and they are big Dr. Who fans and both seem to like the new Dr. But I come here and people aren't too fond of him. So do you think those who like him aren't true Dr. who fans? Just asking, not looking for trouble.
I saw a preview of the new Dr. and I like him. I know a lot of people aren't fond of him because of his age, but why can't the Dr. be young? I prefer a younger Dr. because he can run around and save people. I <3ed David Tennent and he was pretty young. Would you say I'm not a true fan for liking the new Dr.?

No, but true fans don't abbreviate Doctor to Dr. ;)

By the way, I'm wondering where you get the idea that people here aren't keen on Matt Smith. As far as I can see, nobody has been at all negative about him... quite the opposite, in fact!
...and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Generally, most storylines are rather fuzzy about exact earth dates. It was never made clear in the 70s when the Doctor was with UNIT, whether it was supposed to be in the present day or the future. I prefer it that way.

I quite like Matt Smith. Not too keen on the sidekick, though - she's a bit annoying.

They're both great. It's the cartoon Graham Norton I have a problem with.

Traditionally, that has been part of the companion's job.

If you didn't like the ad, you won't like it when cartoon Graham Norton joins the cast of Doctor Who to fight alongside The Doctor!

That's the second time Norton has poked his nose into Doctor to spoil it.
