This picture is kind of old, from last year I think. My hair needs to grow. I look like DUUUH, heh, as usual.

I like very much this picture, the big telephone, LOL. Itu city is known for its big things, everything is big there, LOL, it's the city of my friend Carla, one of my best friends, my spiritual sister. I wonder how many times I posted this picture, LOL. I think Brazil is bizarre because someone invited that Chinese man who is the tallest of the world to visit Itu and take the picture by the telephone, LOL. I think that's funny.

Just to elaborate a bit on what my esteemed colleague Dorothy has said: your eyes are dark beckoning pools of cool moist water drawing me deeper and deeper in; your lips are fulsome and pouty like a pop star; your hair is soft and shimmering like gold in the afternoon sunlight; your skin looks silky soft and smooth like a polished marble statue in the Vatican and your nose is also very cute. -_-

In Paul's Arms!
As you all probably know, the next Metrolink stop with that ill-fated Metrolink crash was in my city of Simi Valley. There was a call to give blood yesterday, which I did. The place where we were donating blood was across the street from the Metrolink Station. I decided to drive over there and these are some cell phone pictures that I took of some of the memorials.

On all of the poles along the track were flowers.

This was on the ticket kiosk, wish I remembered what it said:

Even though I didn't know anybody on the train, though one of the names was familiar but happily not the person, it still made me tear up. It is quite emotional. Even though this was a week later, there was a woman who drove up when I did and placed some flowers. Sad, so sad!

Yes I'm proud and I like to show pictures of the country sometimes because people have a bad image of it, there are so many bad stereotypes and pictures give one idea of the place and its reality, culture, faces, habits, etc. I am proud of the world too, there are so many great places. I love to visit small towns with 7.000 habitants or less.

I will go to Charlotte, North Carolina next month, I can't wait. I'll post my pictures here. :D

Next year I will not stay at home, I will travel all around the world. Traveling is the best way to learn about life. :hyper: :D

and lapis, which one of those fine brothers of yours is the owner of a yacht? LMAO....
YESSSSS I have been to Lencois Maranhenses, I had pictures in my facebook but I deleted them. I thought I posted some pictures here. It's surreal there. I have been to almost all states in Brazil. Sometimes I used to stay 3 days, 4 days inside a bus to go to the Northeast but I don't regret, what I saw it is unforgetable. I want to go next time to Fernando de Noronha Island. People say it's beautiful but it's complicated to go there, it's a protected place, it seems you can't go anytime you wish, I don't know, and it's VERY expensive. There are big turtles, dolphins, you can dive, a guy told me is boring, I don't know what he was expecting. It's nature, and people can't build anything there, there are few houses I think, very few.

Seu Jorge is great, new generation of Samba Rock. His voice is pretty, sometimes out of tune but who cares? I love to dance Samba Rock, LOL. When I was in Brazil I used to go to a club with a friend. Think about a tall moreno with a pretty face, pretty smile, beautiful nose, funny, charming, intelligent and great personality. This is my friend Fred, LOL. A Gemini child and his favourite song is Tive Razao too. We saw Seu Jorge live, it was FABULOUS!

I loooove his version of David Bowie's Life on Mars!!!! I've heard that Bowie enjoyed them in Portuguese. It's intense and the lyric is so beautiful. " Vem ca me da a sua lingua, entao vem eu quero abracar voce, o seu poder vem do sol."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6l8zrsf4LY

And a version of a Damien Rice song, with Ana Carolina. So beautiful and romantic. I like when they talk with their eyes. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STVAAPAo7B0

It's wonderfull, you have to go to Lapa, Rio, if you go with your carioca, you will loooove there!!!! :hyper:

France founded the city of Sao Luis in 1600... I don't know the year. The only city of Brazil founded by a "foreing", not by Portugal. They tried to found Rio de Janeiro before, in 1567. Next time you talk to a person from Rio, pay attention to their accent, it's very funny because of the French influence.

Here is Parque Nacional dos Lençóis Maranhenses.

i wish to go to Lencois in my lifetime. it looks like something of another planet, doesn't it? do they have a town there and hotels? i don't think there is another place like that on earth.

i envy your 4 day road trips. i used to do that in england. what a trip it would be in Brasil. seu jorge said he loves Minhas Gerais, also. he lived in a favela and survived to make it big. O M G i am soooooooo jealous that you got to see him in concert. i would die to see him like that. i love how he wears his suits short so the sleeves don't get in the way of his guitar. he is so inventive, musically. my carioca once told me that he went to the same college as jorge and they spent time at coffee shops. he was always playing guitar.

i already have that beautiful ana/seu george one...he did it such justice when he translated it. i kept asking my carioca if it was about a girl named Julia coz that's what it sounds like, "de julia"...but of course it's not but what a shock to see she was in the movie, The Blower's Daughter. (i've done my homework). i also watched the damien rice one a few days ago. (my brother is convinced ana carolina is a transvestite! hahahaha, she has the lowest female voice i've ever heard but i know she is female).

david bowie was said to have liked how jorge translated his songs and said they turned out great. i have life on mars, Queen b*tch, and a few others. he is just amazing.

ok, i've talked too much.

Ana Carolina is lesbian.

About Lencois Maranhenses, no there aren't hotels there just nature. If you want to go there you have to leave from Sao Luis and go to Barreirinhas by bus or air taxis. Entrance to the park is made exclusively by 4-wheel drive trucks. Other vehicles are not permitted. There are some tourist packages to go there and it's better to go with a tourist guide and a group of people, he will know what to do and where to go. I went there by bus and air taxis (me and other tourists). The view from the air taxi is impressive.

I hope you can go there someday.

Do you know Ceu? I love this song

Even though I didn't know anybody on the train, though one of the names was familiar but happily not the person, it still made me tear up. It is quite emotional. Even though this was a week later, there was a woman who drove up when I did and placed some flowers. Sad, so sad!
This was a horrible accident - I'm not surprised you were emotional, Cathy. It must have been very heart-wrenching to have been on the platform and to see all of the tributes.
...and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Hahah I was far too nervous to be touching him, plus he had 3 bodyguards. But actually I got 2 photos with him which meant 2 hugs. Then after the pics were snapped he gave me a kiss and I started tearing up after he left. When he saw that he came back and gave a big bear hug and said "it's only me," I about died...

Olivia is an angel, she is just so sweet. It is quite eerie to see Dhani, and it is kind of bittersweet to see him live because so much of him is George.

wow, that's pretty f*cking cool that you got to chat with him and everything! I wonder if Dhani ever gets sick of the George comparisons though, it must be hard to forge your own identity when you're living under that kind of shadow.

Very much so. Ironically today, as I am starting the pre-op procedures, I was in my doctor's office and one of the patients had been in the crash with his buddy. He said there was a table in their car and that when the crash occurred he went flying backwards but his buddy, sitting next to him, flew into the table. It is now nearly 2 weeks later and his buddy is still in the hospital with all kinds of problems.

I think he does get tired of the comparisons, but I know he loved George very much. In an interview he said he was honoured to have George as a father but he was also someone he doesn't particularly want to be compared to because he is such a hard act to follow. I'm just very greatful Dhani has given so many of us this opportunity to see him free 5 weeks in a row and now that he knows who I am, I can't miss any of the upcoming shows. :boogie:
