Im quite interested in photography, and I mentioned earlier to modgirl1964 - that I might post some of my photos here. These are from my major art assignment last year, where I decided to pick photography as my major. This is the first time i've ever done anything like this, so any comments/feedback would be muchly appreciated!

Considering im a lover of anything old fashioned/vintage, I decided to go for a slightly dated theme of some of my favourite eras.

The 1940s

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/emmac/000_1752.jpg

1960s (These ones are my favourite - the hair and make-up was so fun to do!)
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/emmac/PICT0418.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/emmac/PICT0421.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/emmac/PICT0428.jpg (note the Beatles album she's holding :P )
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/emmac/PICT0413.jpg (My personal fave)

These ones could be classified as a late 60s early 70s "Hippie" look "Be Sure to wear some flowers in your hair"

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/emmac/000_1742.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/emmac/PICT0442.jpg

Like I said im pretty new to all this - so feel free to post any constructive criticism!

Cheers.

I really like the 40's ones, sepia is beautiful and suits the mood and era. I especially like this one http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/emmac/000_1752.jpg but the rest of them are good as well.

Emilee, I love the shots, they're great!

But, I'm going to start talking shop here again, sorry!

The 60's set (the mod set), the lighting seemed to be a bit harsh. It's ok, you're still learning! But it does give a wee bit of a glare, next time for an indoor shoot, soften the lights a bit, not too much though. The last shot out of that set was perfect, slightly grainy, but it happens.

I love the soft looks in the 40's and the Hippie shots, so perfect. Captures the eras very well.

You have a very good eye Emilee! Keep it up!!

Thanks!! The 1940's ones were taken down at my local pub, it first opened in about 1926, so its got a good old fashioned feel about it.

Thanks! That's basically what I do for a living (though it doesn't pay that great, who cares!)

I've got loads of albums of pretty much every Detroit indie band going to 99, when the White Stripes where just starting out. One of these days, I'll get my lazy arse to put everything on a cd and start up a website with my work, it's just making myself do it....

Lisa, you're very good. Good photography captures one's interest and yours certainly does with me!

Emilee, I'm afraid I can't see yours, and based on what you and others have said about them, I'm very interested to!

All I have to show at the moment is Andy's avatar. I miss my kitties.

the best pic I took it is this one.

very artistical and meaningfull, imo.

The person ignores the theatre, the theatre depends on the government. The government ignore the person.

This photo of Sean Lennon turned out interestingly I feel because of the red spot that was on him and the fact that I was taking this with a handheld camera and no flash. I want to use this as the basis for a painting or drawing.
