Yeah Merry. The first time he knocked was in October a week before he came on the talking board and I asked if it was him and he said yes and that he was doing it to tell me that he was there and looking after the forthcoming baby. He was knocking again today but I don't know why |

That's very intriguing, Nat...I've always wondered why, if those things are possible (and I have an open mind on the subject) my parents never have contacted me. Maybe they gave up on me! At least his is a loving spirit! Do you use the Ouija (talking) board often? My friends and I thought it was exciting when I was in my teens...and it DID work! Merry

He is a loving spirit and i've said to him on various occasions that I know he's there and looking after me and Lennon but not to scare me or "appear" to me if you get my drift. He is a loving spirit and on the talking (I hate that other word) board in October he didn't want to go off the board when we were asking questions, he wanted to stay bless him I have only ever been on once but my friend Phil has one and he occasionally uses it as he has the spirit of a young woman in his house who needs his help and also a Jacobean soldier who was part of Bonny Prince Charlie's army |

Wow Nat, that's really nice! I'd been involved in "the board" ages ago, and we had some amazing results. At least your grandfather hasn't left you...it must be wonderful to know that he is watching over you and trying to keep you from harm. You have to be careful, though...sometimes opening up that door can lead to things that you don't want! I know, I lived in a haunted house when I was a teen and there were all kinds of weird things going on. I believe that there are unexplainable things in this world and that the spirit has to go on! It's comforting to think that our loved ones are still with us. Merry

You're right Merry. With the board you have to be so careful! You have to know how to "open" it and "shut it down" each time you use it or you could have something you don't really want! Grandad said on the board that he was staying around to see his great grandchild being born then Phil asked him if after that happened he would pass over and he said yes and I asked him if he was happy and he said yes and also that he could see his first wife Anna, keep us updated on news on your uncle *sending you hugs* |

here is my cousins blog that kind of updates everyone. Thank you all again for your prayers! So if you have been reading my blog, than you know that my dad suffered a heart attack last week. Well he was admitted to a hospital in Dover-Foxcroft Maine. I use the word hospital VERY loosely. This place was the pits. They released him from ICU after one day. They sent him home when his blood pressure was unstable, his heart rate was over 100, his body temp was less than 94 degrees, and he couldn't put a sentance together without struggling for air. They sent him home with oxygen tanks and doctor appointments for follow up. idiots. So now fast forward to Friday, I had mentioned to my husband that I hadn't been able to get hold of Dad or Betty (I had been trying since Thursday, unsuccessfully). My husband and I both had the same idea, if we don't hear ANYTHING from them by Friday night, we will drive the 400 miles up to Maine (ufm..upper f*cking maine) and make sure that everything is okay. Well I kept on trying through out the day on Friday, no answer. So I go over to my friend Karen at around 3:30 to ask her if she wants to go have coffee. So we go out to the cafe around 3:30 and start shooting the breeze while the coffee is brewing. We both agree that I should try at least one more time, before driving all the way up there (ufm). So I try the house...ring, ring, ring. Betty - "hello - who is this" Jen - "It's me, how's Dad" Betty - "oh, honey, your dad is in ICU again (pause) he has had a stroke" WTF! a stroke Please tell me that he isn't in that God Damn hospital again!! Well apparently he was taken to Dover-Foxcroft, where in the ER Betty was told that they weren't equipped to care for a critical cardiac patient. No sh*t - assholes! So he is transferred from there to St. Joseph's hospital in Bangor, Maine. (still ufm) Where he is stablized and in the Critical Care Unit. I left my house around 5:15 p.m. that night hoping that I wasn't going to hit traffic. Luckly I didn't. Almost hit a couple of deer or moose or caribou...but didn't. I arrived at the hospital in Bangor around 10:30 pm that night. Lucky for me the weather was holding out still, and it wasn't as foggy! That and at least the hospital wasn't 40 friggin miles off the highway like the last one. This hospital was .75 miles from the off-ramp. That distance I can take. So I get up to the CCU and am told that he is sleeping, but I can go in and check on him if I want. Of course, I go in and he is sleeping. Not comfortably, but sleeping. He was hooked up to so many machines, I wasn't sure if I could touch him. So I gently stroked his forehead, and gave him a kiss. I went out to the nurses station where they said that I could leave him note, that way when he wakes up, he will know that I was there. Great. I already like this place much better. I leave a note and the name of the hotel where we will be staying, as well as my cell number, should anyone need to get hold of me. I didn't know that my step-mother was sleeping in the CCU family waiting area. I must have walked right by her. The next morning I rush to the hospital (8:30 am) to check on him, I get to the room and find Betty sitting by his bed. He was still sleeping. Right at that moment, that second, I felt the love and connection that they share. My heart sank. How bad was it? Was he ever going to be the same? Was anything permanent? The questions were circling my head so quickly. I grabbed onto Adams hand and he led me into the room. Betty said that they didn't want anyone to wake him, so she went into the other room, so that me and Adam could sit in there for a bit. A nurse came in to explain what was going on with dad. She explained that he was going to have to have surgery on Monday for a pacemaker/defibulator to keep his heart pumping. And also that he had a stroke and that his right side seemed to have been the most affected. She also said the words I was dreading...Congestive heart failure. I just sat there and sobbed while holding onto my husbands arm. I just kept thinking, "how can this by happening to MY dad, he is suppose to be invincable!?" The nurse woke him up around 9:15 am for his meds. I noticed a change right away, his face was droopy, and he was having a bit of a hard time talking. At least he knows who everyone is now. Betty said that when they first brought him into the ER, he didn't know who ANYONE was, not even himself. scary. The doctor came in around 10ish to explain the surgery that was going to take place. The device would be inserted right below the collar bone and have 2 leads that connected to his heart. She also mentioned that this wasn't a matter of if he needed the device, but what time she could get the OR. Holy sh*t. So on Monday, he went in for the surgery. He was brought downstairs around 9:15 and was in recovery around 11:00. Everything seems to have went well. They were unable to test the device in the OR, because they found a blood clot in his heart. If the defibulator was to go off, it would jar around that blood clot. Not Good! So they put him on a little extra of the blood thinner to work out that clot. He is doing Physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy to try and get active again. His device will be completely healed up in 8-12 weeks. Then he will be able to lift his left arm again. Right now he can't lift above the elbow. He is at risk to pull the leads out, and they are screwed into his heart. He will also be on Cumadin (a blood thinner) for the rest of his life. We drove home on Tuesday night, due to a weather system that pushed through on Monday. Dropping inches of snow and ice from Maine to Massachusetts. We figured that it would be best to just stay put and leave the next day. Especially considering that the highway wasn't even plowed! damn....ufm SUCKS! I called him today, and he seems to be in good spirits. His speech is still messed up. But I will take messed up speech, and weak legs over the alternative anyday. |
