I was very impressed with it, it's surprisingly good as this is his first album with out the comfort of the Kinks. In fact his first album of new material for 12 years. For people looking for old time Kinks song there is Next Door Neighbour but most the album very contemperary sounding. Stand Up Comic is proberly the weakest track as it's hard to see quite who Ray is having a pop at but that's part of the charm of Mr Davies snr, he's a bit of a miserable old git sometimes. If only All She Wrote had been put out as a single, I'm sure it'd have got good airplay.

I'm have virtually the same opinion as you about it - I wasn't sure about it at first because it was so contemporary-sounding, but I threw away my expectations and tried to listen to it as if it was a new artist. Well, it really grew on me after a few listens and now I think it's fantastic, one of my favourites of the year - and a great sounding rock album. I agree that Stand Up Comic is probably the weakest track, but I also have fond memories of him doing it live a couple of years ago. Glad you like it as much as I do. ^_^

Oh dear. I hate it when band members fall out and squabble. Guns 'N Roses would be heaps better if they had all the original members in

Yes, that was it - and Ray told the story of how the US audience weren't ready for the lyrics, "and he likes his fags the best".

Was a good show, I'd love the original line up to reform but Mick Avory doesn't get on with Dave Davies and Ray Davies doesn't get on with Pete Quaiffe.

It doesn't ever look like it will happen, does it. Still, as long as Ray is still working & touring, that's the main thing. I quite like Dave's songs, but the real talent of the family has never been in question. ^_^

Ray Davies was supposed to perform in Bristol I think in either October or November and I would have liked to have gone but it was cancelled.

That's a shame - he's a great performer. Did they give the reason why?

Don't get me wrong, they're still bad for you... they're just not very, very bad for you.  Just very bad.  :P  :D

I know, that's why I nibble as opposed to scarf

I try to do that, but one day I got confused and scibbled. To rectify my mistake, and to try to save embarrassment, I hastily narfed, but that only made matters worse.

So far, I don't have any MORON co-workers at my new job. All seem to be lovely people.

I do wish the young woman from Georgia, who is facing her first Colorado winter, would take my advice about how to drive in the snow. I told her you have to slow down. We got another foot or so of snow yesterday and the roads were horrendous last night. She passed me and was flying past me. I told her to pump on the brakes when stopping on ice. At the stop light, she slammed on the brakes and was spinning all over. No wonder she says she scared of driving on these roads.

She's from a small town in Georgia. She still doesn't have the concept of leaving early for work when it snows. She still has the tires she had in Georgia. The boss told her yesterday to get some different tires, but she says the car lease is up in six months and she isn't going to do it. He told her that during tax season, he won't be sending us home early.

I saw a 4 wheel drive that had rolled over and into a ditch. I hope she doesn't pay that price for not taking my advice on how to drive on ice.

The whole Autumn tour was postponed but I think there are some new dates coming for round about May.

Ray and Dave were in discusions about doing something for the bands 40th anniversary back in 2004 but the Ray got shot and Dave had his stroke. I got Dave's last Album which had a few good songs on it and his last live album was great.
