Man, it must be the alignment of the planets or something. I'm feeling the same way.

Maybe we can all get together, at least virtually. Too bad Indiana, NoCal and SoCal aren't closer together. :(

I know it's crazy. The people at the school told me it was. But their hands are tied since she's a student and I'm currently not. :( Said they dont want a scene. Well, you know what?! As long as she's there, there's gonna be a scene, cuz she's not happy unless she's making someone's life a LIVING HELL!!!!!

Oh, it's coming. But not from me. I've got quite a few friends that she's crossed too. And they're so p*ssed at the actions she's taken that they're out for blood now. I'm actually scared of her now. I'm afraid of what she's capable of doing. I don't want to lose my opportunity at teaching. :( I'm thinking about getting the hell out of Arkansas, I love this place, but SHE is here.

when you crossed the bridge towards the tunnels - the canal you go over is one of the oldest in the UK (but it doesn't have barges on it). Its know locally as the 'hotties' because of all the hot water from the glassworks which goes into it. It is so hot when a local pet shop closed down years ago, they put all their tropical fish into the water, people still catch massive tropical fish in there :)

hope you liked my town :) did you put a comment in the guest book ??

jon, my dear, dear friend. You know where I am, you know how to get a hold of me... and I know you dont like phones, but you have my number even if you just want to call and cry. I am here for you.

I am sure you are scared, and hurt, and just at a loss for feelings. Be strong, Jon. Know that grandma is in a better place, no longer suffering. Know that SHE KNEW how much you loved and cared for her. I know grandma will be looking after you for ever now!

my thoughts are of the same NON!! :( it hurts to see our friends suffer :(

I just got back from having a very nice lunch with miss Linda.(aka maccascruff). What a lovely nice woman :) I am so lucky that I get a chance to meet so many of the boardies just for the sake that I live in a town where you all like to visit ;)

I was up all night talking with My robert. He is a guy that I am not too sure what is going on. Something in his conversation to me... just really hit a nerve and I cant shake it. He was talking about guys who like big women, that they are all just perverts or sick or whatever cause no guy in their right mind find over weight women attractive... YET he finds me attractive.. and I am not just slightly overweight.. i am discustingly fat... huge, obese, no... morbidly obese. I dont get it. It made me think.. and worst of all.. it made me sad :(

Anyways.. I am gonna go watch some tv. I miss being home on days like this.. having bbq with the family, playing board games.

Suddenly.. I am feeling so very alone at this moment.

(((((((((NON)))))) thanks sweetie.. its always good to have the support of somone who KNOWS what it feels like to walk a mile in my shoes (so to speak).

This guy, he some how has really gotton in my head. I have just been thinking all day. and all it does just makes me hate myself more. I will never be super modle thin. I started the process for bypass and everyone is telling me NOT to do it. I am like, are you kidding, i know this will be one of the hardest things I go through.. but I can end up happy.... healthy....

My boss was the biggest one... he kept saying people change... people change..

sigh... its a long process and who knows if I will go through it.. but guys like this one i talked to last night... just reallly made me feel like the hunchback of notre dam, you know.. just a freak. Fat woman are ugly, fat women only can get freak men, you will never be happy unless you are thin.

My head hurts! :pinch:

(((ANNA))) I just read your last two posts. I'd like to hit that jerk in the head with a cast iron skillet!!  Who nominated him to speak for ALL men?? I've known men who prefer larger women. My former boss in San Diego was engaged to a man who encouraged her constantly to gain weight. She was already a full-figured woman, but he wanted her to add to her curves.

I see couples all the time who are getting married and one or both partners are what you would call large. There is a person somewhere out there who will appreciate you for being you, no matter what your size.

On the topic of the bypass, I'm almost certain that you'll have to quit smoking before you'll be allowed to have the surgery. Not that that's a bad thing. ;)

Maybe you can visit the self-improvement thread we've got going here. I started it last night, as I'm sick of how I've let myself go and I aim to do something about it!!

Whatever you decide to do or not do, know that I love you. :) I wish you could pay attention to the positive voices around you, instead of the negative ones. Ah, but that's human nature, isn't it?? :hmm:

You know my sister had the surgery and as hard as it was, it is the best thing she ever did-

If you are willing to put the effort into it, it will change your life- but it is NOT an easy journey- you are young and have good skin still- it should shrink with you- don't wait til it is too late and then you have to have a body lift too!!

Anyway- come over with us on the Friends place- we are back to basics!!

Anna, you have so much to be proud of. You're a beautiful, smart, independent woman who is making it in the world on your own. You've got a job, a roof over your head, a sexy car, and friends who think the world of you. That's a pretty good list right there. ;)

I remember holding down two jobs at a time, and did so for quite a few years. In fact, I did that even when I no longer needed to. I enjoyed having the extra money. :)

I know it seems like a brighter day will never come. I think most of us have felt like that at some point in our lives. Things will improve if you'll just hang in there. You'll continue to get raises at your job, or perhaps you'll find a better one. I'll let you in on a little secret -- no matter how much money you make, it will still never seem like enough. ;)

How about joining in on our self-improvement thread for some group support?? You don't have to start with anything major -- it could be something as simple as promising to walk for five minutes tomorrow. Any small change will get you one step closer to where you want to be. ;)

Yes (((ANNA))) Look at me!! My husband married me when I was a size 6 and we really don't want to get into dress size but you know I'm up at the other end of dress sizes. And he loves me so much as you have seen. He's not embarrassed to hug me in public or care for me. He makes my breakfast every morning. You'll find someone just as caring and loving. I know you have to quit smoking before you have this surgery, as I know someone who is in this same situation as you. She has to quit smoking. I'm going to try the South Beach diet with my husband. Although he can be a bit more lenient than me. Yes come on over to Bev's thread.........let's see where this all leads us to....hopefully a healthier and more life! I'm tired of my body controlling my life. I'm taking control what goes in this mouth for now on!!!!! (Not that I couldn't do it before, guess I just wasn't *ready*)

morning gang... My dear friend Philip is in town for a photoshop convention. Philip and I went to college together in Anahiem, and when I moved to denver he and his wife let me come over to thier place every weekend to do my laundry and they would make sure I had a full meal... since I pretty much lived off of Mac and Cheese and top romaine. LoL.

He is here all week crashing on my sofa. Its soo great to see him... and just have him here. I adore him, and look up to him so much (even though he is a foot shorter then me.. LOL) he is just one of the most tallented graphic designers I know!!!!

Why do we hang on to these people for dear life, even though in our hearts we know it is time to let go and move forward? What hold do these people have on our lives that we hang on to the slightest shred of encouragement or loving words that we so desperately want to hear?

We are ready to give many reasonable excuses why we choose to stay in negative and self-defeating relationships. The list is endless: children, financial obligations, fear of being alone, embarrassment and shame of once again not meeting the expectations of others and society.

Then, of course, there are those magic words, “maybe they will change if I love them just a little bit more.”

The hitch is that it is human nature to hold on to the people in your life. Letting go is so painful, stressful and confusing that one does not want feel the familiar pain of yet another unsuccessful personal experience.

Unfortunately, it is difficult at the time to imagine that letting go may possibly be the best thing that you have ever done for yourself and your family. We become so entrenched in the relationship that letting go does not seem a possibility, despite all the red flags and blaring horns that you see and hear throughout the relationship.

We are not speaking about relationships that have love and friendships with problems. We are speaking about solo relationships, in which you have been giving 150 percent in every area -- not to mention ALL the emotional work -- with minimal if any participation from your partner. We are speaking about feelings of loneliness, emptiness, fear and the feeling that you are drowning or suffocating within the framework of the relationship.

The questions you need to ask yourself are:

“Do I want this person in my life five years from now if they stay the way they are now?”
“How much does this person need to change, so that I am not feeling like I am suffocating and/or drowning?”
You must comprehend that the only person you can change is you and accept that it takes a huge amount of work and desire to change. Take the time to look at your relationship, and ask yourself the following question: “Is this what I really want for my life?”

The worst possible scenario is that you wake up five years from now feeling like you wasted and lost precious years of your life trying to change someone other than yourself. The best possible scenario is that you decide that you want to change and move forward. That you take the first frightening step on your own and live a happier, healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle -- and let the person/people in your life follow your lead.

Taking the first courageous step away from a negative, unfulfilling relationship that is not working for you is what makes a lifestyle change so exciting, healthy and favorable. Usually, change occurs when the pain and discomfort becomes absolutely intolerable and unbearable. It may take several attempts to make the change, and much soul searching and learning what you want and need to feel fulfilled.

Have patience with yourself! The change will happen when you are ready to make it happen. Understanding that you can do anything you want after the turmoil and shock of the change is the most liberating occurrence that a person can experience.

Behavior signals that your relationship is in trouble:

No assistance with household chores and children
Control of money

Excessive drinking, drugging, gambling or any addictive behavior
Refusal of counseling or any kind of emotional help

No desire for communication
Extramarital affairs
No support, attempted sabotage of all positive efforts to change
