Does anyone even go to the old board anymore?  If so, why would you?

I do. I want to have my membership remain active so that we find out about any recordings and tour dates. I go there a couple of times a week just to satisfy my urge to be a shitkicker.

This is pretty much the only reason I go there. Also because some people insist on sending me PMs over there--even though I don't go there every day any more. I also post when I go there because I can and I want people to know I have not been banned. ;)

If a topic interests me, I may post on the thread, but I rarely go over there. I still have some friends that will send me PM's from time to time, and I'll log in to answer those. Outside of that though, I hardly spend any time over there now.

:) Merry

It's not hard to keep up to date with the news, just Google it. That's how people who post it find it. And some people get Google to email them alerts when things hit the news.

Speaking only for myself, I don't have time to Google for news about Paul. It's much more efficient for me to come here and read articles that others have posted.

And people certainly don't need (or want) to read the rehash of one and the same article 500 times! That is what annoys me and I know that I'm not the only one with this opinion)! *shrug*

True. Some sites rehash things months on and make out it's news. Or you get foreign papers only getting the news 8 days afrer the rest of us.

Yes, that's another thing! It's not the quantity that's important, it's the quality! I don't think that's hard to understand! Sometimes I do get the feeling that people post articles they haven't even read... they would know that it's saying exactly the same like the article they posted before! Obviously they don't know... <_<

I don't understand all the animosity being generated by the posting of articles which may or may not be "old news". If I noticed that I've already read an article that has been posted, I just close it and move on to something else. This really isn't so hard to do, eh??

I just want to say "thank you" to those of you who take the time and trouble to find the articles and post them here for those of us who seem to be in a constant time crunch. ;)

It's possible that they are being selective about those that they are taking away. I don't know, but they've been going on alot lately about Paul's privacy and some of the YouTubes for certain songs.

I look over there every now and again, but I don't see any reason to go daily. There are days when I forget about it completely.

I have set up a big Paul video youtube thread in the Not Such A Bad boy forum and all the links I did post are still working.

Okay Fea, I stand corrected, maybe it was some particular song that they didn't care to have on the thread. I can't recall specifics, but if they are still allowing them, that is good!

I have noticed some Beatle and solo songs have been taken from the YouTube lists for right infringements, though.

I just chalked it up to the recent lawsuits all the families are involved with right now.

The one thing I can say about this board is that it seems to be much less competitive than PM.com. I've seen threads on that board that have turned into whose better than who.. An example a while back was a thread entitled "I miss Robbie and Hamish" which of course turned into a which band is better than another contest... I've seen Abe vs Ringo and Wix vs Linda even. As you probably have noticed by my avatar is that I do have a preference for Paul's band from 1989-93 but I do appreciate the current band as well as all incarnations of Wings... I'm glad that we usually don't have to go through here because as far as I'm concerned its comparing apples and oranges really..

just my 2 cents

It's not the quantity that's important, it's the quality. When I was on the macca board... i spent 90% of my time chatting with my friends in Marks Bar... which was one of the largest longing running threads there. I was one of the top ten posters.... just because of that thread alone. I hardly was in the game threads, or posting news articles... which was fine if you do... it just cracked me up the peoples never ending quest to get the highest post count.

They lock those threads with youtube links that have been posted over and over again such as "Paul is sleeping with his eyes open" or "Paul making mashed potatoes"... there's absolutely nothing unusual about it! <_<

Of course we're troublemakers - just look at all the trouble we've made since we started the board!

There's... um...

and... er...

...can anyone help me out here? :P

In fact, it's just the opposite. I've found the people who made the switch from the Macca board to here to be basically peace loving & some people were labelled 'troublemakers' and 'defiant intransigents' because they gave dissent & argued against unfair treatment. All people wanted is to be treated equally and with a bit of respect which was sometimes lacking over at Paul's forum. ;)

'Bumping' is not permitted here for a good reason - threads should be allowed to die unless they are worthy enough to warrant a fresh post. I find it very annoying to open a thread just to find the word 'bump'. I don't know why you don't support this policy, Mr. Olen. :(

Anna wasn't talking about you or your threads, Fea - she was talking about the many duplicate threads that the moderators have had to lock from multiple members posting the same links to the same Paul articles. I've seen them myself and it definitely wasn't a dig at you.

Sorry, Andy. I just couldn't resist. The devil made me do it.  I'll be good now, I promise. ;)

Oh Bev...just take a look and you'll see what I mean! The content of some of those threads and the people there now!

When you do, be sure to check out the "What's That You're Doing?: forum and read some of those.

I hate to name names, but I can't for the life of me figure out "Victoria DeCaine"! She's been contributing quite regularly, I see! ;)

Merry, I gotta be honest. It's too depressing to visit there anymore. The last time I peeked in -- about a week ago -- I saw the SAME threads and the same posters, and some of the dates of the most recent posts were quite old!! :(

I don't even recognize most of the names of the posters, and after reading some of the posts, I'm sad to say that I don't care to get to know them. Many of those folks seem to be swimming in the shallow end of the pool. ;)

Oh, I see the same things, Bev. That's why I don't go over there very often anymore, myself.

It's a shame but they drove alot of good people away from there, and now it's just a wasteland.

I got a kick out of "Victoria DeCarlo's" musings, though. She's contributed quite a few! She's in the "What's That You're Doing?" forum. I think she's contemplating writing a book! ;)

Andy, I don't get it either. Cosmically Conscious is supposed to be for veggie/vegan/animal rights, not bashing those things.
I haven't been to the PM board in a LONG time, and don't plan on coming there until their mods get booted and new mods get hired or keep the mods who haven't gotten a major pwoer trip. I do like a couple mods there, but there's a certain one who I used to like but don't anymore.
The mods in here are great people and none have gotten an ego trip.

Andy, I still kick some people around on that forum. They don't understand that we just don't like the killing of creatures. You can put all the "facts" there that you want but it won't make any difference. A killed creature is still a killed creature no matter that you don't waste the carcass. And I thought of that all by myself without any help from Paul, Peta, the Hsus, the man down the street, or ...............

Cathy, I really appreciate the fact that you're still 'fighting your corner' (and with passion, sense and eloquence, if I may say so) and admire your conviction & persistence, but some people you just can't reach. It makes me sad that the powers that be over at Macca's have allowed these one-subject trolls to infiltrate and remain in a forum dedicated to vegetarianism & the ethical treatment of animals. I feel like the only result of posting in that forum these days is to get involved in an argument, not to post & socialise in a community of like-minded individuals.
...and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Amen, Andy and thank you. What this all boils down to is that they are unwilling to listen to anything that any of us have to say regardless of what the current issue is on that forum. They want to make their point but make fun of ours. Yes, you are right, they are in there for the fight and not the debate. Unfortunately some of us, and I have to include myself, get sucked into it.

Hello Linda. :D Just for those who are sending me PMs and emails, I do NOT post on that 'Other' board anymore. Most of my close friends don't post there anymore either. They don't even look at that place. I did mention this place to them and maybe they'll come by on their own, who knows.

I didn't even realize that it's not on my shortcuts anymore. I have come to the conclusion that if I don't have anything nice to say about that place I don't say anything.

Well Linda, hard to believe that Oct. 12th will be a year ago that we partied at the Loose Moose. One of my favorite memories. I went to 7 McCartney shows and had the time of my life.

Maybe the old coot will decide to tour again and we can meet up. Keep your fingers crossed. :D
