Strawberry Fields members are expected to be respectful and civil to each other... and at least to not write anything libelous about non-members. Potential future members cannot be legislated for. :P

So if he does we might have some interesting replies to some interesting quesitons.

Wow, I just got modded over there because I asked a question about daughter Heather's emotional state. I said.

"Does anyone know what she's been up to? You never hear or see anything about her. I remember reading an article about her and she seemed a fragile and emotional person"

This got modded. Sheesh

BTW does anyone know?

The daughter? What did you say? I've heard she is very emotionally fragile, but it's been years since I have heard any real news about her.

last i heard she was fine ,though it's not really anyone's business from what i gathered she's been fine for years, doing pottery in sussex and elsewhere, not one for the spotlight like her brother. which is sensible with so many would photographers around if you are not known (face wise) you aren't going to be of any interest and you can get on with your own life.

And that is precisely why we love you and Fiona, Andy, and being here!

You treat us with respect as adult people who can actually think for ourselves and allow us to have our opinions!

It's a shame that the other forum had to become so oppressive...too much, way too late. No one likes a dictatorship, and I'm afraid that's pretty much what it's come down to.

It reminds me of the "Happy Happy Joy Joy" Ren & Stimpy episode...you have to be happy all the time. Granted gloominess isn't pleasant either, but there are things that happen in life, and if you can't discuss them openly among friends, then it's not worth bothering with.

I love the freedom of expression we have around here!

I haven't heard much in years about Heather the daughter and at that time, she wasn't doing that great. I did see her with Heather the wife in Sir George Martin's box at the Concert for George. As someone else has said, neither she nor James seems to want to live in the spot light and who can blame them.

Andy and Fiona, should we go on about this wonderful board?

Oh... Starshine. Yes, she used to be a big fan of Paul & The Beatles but I guess it was kind-of a phase for her because she 'grew out' of it. She made a lot of friends on the Macca board, that's why she sticks around. I can understand her reasons for being there - but I can't understand anyone 'growing out' of The Beatles! :D

Isn't that the truth! Even when I get interested in other artists, they are more or less a passing phase. But the Beatles is a constant with me. Solo fabs as well.

I'll look in over there from time to time; I've enjoyed trading banter with the people that are discussing Jim Morrison, and I'll reply, but otherwise there isn't much going on to keep my interest, plus I don't have that much online time now.

I do miss the "good ol' days" we'd had, but I think we've picked up the same feel here, so it's all good! B)

I think alot of people remain there because they hope that Paul reads them or will show up one day again with a message, but I'm pretty doubtful that'll happen! ;)

I don't have air conditioning either as we usually don't need it that much in California. But of course, we're burning in hell right now! I do love having it in the car though.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating:

I'm really happy with how the political discussions remain civil here. It makes it much more enjoyable knowing that someone won't accuse someone of this or call someone that. We all know very, very few opinions will be changed by debating, but it's good to see the other side of a story from differing viewpoints.

Yes, you always felt as though you had to be ready to defend yourself, and I always thought there was a great deal of favoritism.

Outside of SarahF, I couldn't even get responses from the mods. One person could do something that another wasn't allowed to, the rules were not consistant at all!

Yeah, true. I think the one you are talking about is a new person who only came onboard to diss Paul and Heather on the the anti-seal hunt campaign.

Andy Newfie says she likes Paul just doesn't like his ideals. She thinks that we are against the seal hunt because Paul is.

I've been on the board tonight and heard the excellent news about Kirsten and Paul (MaccaG and Walrushog) after speaking to them for ages and meeting them a few weeks ago in Liverpool I'm so pleased for them both :) congratulations to them

I still like to check in at the "other" board, even though it has been rather dead for quite a while. I think that will change, if Paul does decide to do another tour.

I know this has been said a million times already, but it's so sad that there's so much censorship. . . even about things that are public knowledge. It's hard to find a thread that hasn't had posts removed or edited by a mod (we all know who does that on a regular basis -- seems to be their raison d'etre, if I may say so. ;) )

I've met quite a few boardies in person and I like to check in with them on the threads we post on; other than that, it gets rather tiresome to see all the drivel that takes up space there.

Mmm, it's weird how so many topics there get closed down for being duplicates, yet they allow around 5 seperate topics which are basically along the lines of "how fit is Paul?" "isn't he gorgeous?!" etc etc etc. I mean, I'd be the first to admit he's a hottie but I don't see why they have one set of rules for certain topics and not for others.

I agree with you. The place is overrun with teenage girls. And then they post "my mum says he's too old" and yeah, your mum has a point!! That place got way too repetitive.

The place is over run with teenagers, both boys and girls. Being a first generation fan, I enjoy their enthusiasm, but just can't get into posting with them.

The censorship has really kept me from posting except in totally inane threads for some time now. I agree with Bev--when Paul tours again, the board will be totally hopping.

I'm sure the mods are watching me, so I don't dare post anything the least bit controversial. And I am staying away from certain people who I do not enjoy posting with who are my age. It's not fun to post with them, so why do it?

I just wish a few of my friends would come here and post so I could stop visiting there daily.

Me three!

Kirsten is from Michigan and we've been trying for ages to arrange a meeting before she leaves for the UK!

We don't live very close and our work schedueles have been the major hinderance, so far.

But I'm just thrilled for them, they are wonderful people!

I'm sorry, Bridget, it may be that she's busy, I'm sure she is now, for sure!

We've written back and forth but never set a definite time and place to get together. I hope we can one day...it would be great if we all could before she leaves for England permanently.

There are several of us Michiganians around, it would be great if we could arrange a get-together.

Hey Merry, just curious. . . . . did you meet Jonathan before last year's Detroit show??? (Or back in 2002??)

Did you meet Nancy Dagle or non proctor?

Hi Bev!

No, I only met Jonathan last year, that was the first time and so far, the last. He's terrific but very private and even though we live pretty close, he keeps to himself. I got a hug from him though, and I'm very proud about that! :P

I met Nancy and Non too, yes...great ladies! Non was leaving the first day, and I didn't get to spend very much time with her.

Nancy and I spent a little more time together but again, it was hectic and we were all in the middle of the Paul excitement. Getting over to the venue, being a part of the Limo watch, and so on.

I hope one day to get to know them better, they're very nice people! :D

I had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan last spring. He came to SoCal for a friend's wedding and smellycat-121 arranged a board meet-up for a group of us that had attended a Ringo show together.

Jonathan is so cute and, despite his persona on the other board, is a very nice, sweet, sensitive guy. I think he hides behind that "other" personality he uses on the message board. I learned some things about him that I never would've guessed. ;)

Did you meet Michelle (smelly-cat 121)?? She's attending vet school in Canada and traveled to Detroit to see Paul's concert. I can't remember now who she said she met. She is an absolute doll. :)

I sure did, and she's a sweetheart! A quiet girl, and very intent on getting her vetrinary degree, I commend her for that!

I also met a few other people over those two days, but their names escape me right now...!

Ruth was one...she's a mod at the George forum, and very nice, as well!

Jen Prowell is another...we sat and talked a bit, great lady!

And the fellow from Michigan that is Paul's #1 fan, I think. He has one of Paul's jackets among many other collectables, and has traveled extensively with his wife and four young sons just to attend concerts and meet up with Paul...or try to! ;) The day I saw him, his little guys were dressed in Sgt. Pepper suits and being filmed by Paul's official cameraman, so they may turn up on Paul's new tour video! :D

I didn't get to spend that much time with her, unfortunately!

I think we were all so excited about the concert and rushing around that we didn't get the chance to hit any of the booze stands!

I met some great people over the two-day span, though. I didn't go to the concert the first day, but thanks to Nancy, I was able to go the following day.

It was there that we met up with the fellow from Ohio that proposed to his wife the day before during the concert!

Nancy got involved in making up some new signs while we were out in the parking lot, and we were just enjoying the occasion, trying to time everything just right!

I met #1Paulfan in Toronto. He was intent that he would get Paul's autograph either in Toronto or Detroit. Don't know if he did at either place. He has every piece of merchandise ever sold on Paul's tours since 89/90.

He is very dedicated, I'll sure give him that much! ;)

I sat at a table where a group of boardies were eating prior to concert time the first day, and they were busy discussing some of the other boardies from Paul's.

Quite interesting! :D

We could invite as many celebrities as we can to join us we might have an interesting discussion one time. I asked Alice Cooperi if he would be willing to do one performance with paul Mccartney and Mick Jagger. I got an email back saying to Ask Paul and mick so I got on both sides and then emailed Alice back he said okaybut that is not how things work. So their might be a chance.
