Lo-res image of the Falken during testing

The ADF-01F Falken, formerly known as the D/F-28 Sabre Air Dominance Fighter, is an advance fighter aircraft originally designed by Exterminatus Arms to supplement the YAL-1 & neutralize any and all fighter aircraft. Its primary mission is to gain & secure air superiority, but has a side mission to shoot down ICBMs & other ballistic missiles in the boost phase. It was the first of two aircraft designed and built as a joint operation between Exterminatus Arms and the Special Research & Projects Agency. Now it is for sale by Hypersphere Ltd.

The Falken utilizes the latest in modern technology – Advance Turbofan engines, Thrust Vectoring nozzles, forward swept wings, canard wings - to make it as fast and as agile as possible to achieve it's mission goals. In order for it to surpass modern jet fighters in terms of speed, it is fitted with two WWX-GD-425 Turbofan engines, which can punch the Falken to speeds of almost Mach 2.75. Its thrust vectoring nozzles, forward swept wings and canard wings offer superior handling when compared to some other fifth-generation fighters.

Pilots & engineers adjusting the COFFIN system on the original ADF-01F prototype

One of the ADF-01F's other distinguishing features is the lack of a glass cockpit. Instead, the Falken is fitted with a 360° celestial-spherical screen cockpit layout, giving the pilot an immense advantage in combat. Instead of a traditional glass canopy, the plane utilizes a prototype of the revolutionary COnnection For Flight INterface (COFFIN) system, which is similar in effect to a one-way mirror or an extremely tinted window. The pilot can still see out, but no one can see in. This is achieved via a series of real-time hexagonal monitors and external cameras that transmit the visual data to the pilot. This also allows for the HUD and targets to also be displayed at all angles, where as a normal aircraft can only show targets and data on its front HUD display. If a target were to leave that HUD on a normal plane, the pilot would not be able to see its green targeting square. On the Falken however, the monitors and a powerful computer eliminate that problem.

The Falken also mounts significant firepower. Coupled with its COFFIN system, the Falken mounts a multi-barrel 20mm cannon, internal hardpoints for AIM-9 Sidewinders & external hardpoints for MBDA Meteor BVRAAM missiles. But by far, the Falken's most powerful weapon is it's internally mounted High Energy Liquid Laser Area Defense System(HELLADS), a 150 kilowatt (kW) Laser Weapon System. However, the name of it is misleading, the laser is really a solid/liquid hybrid laser using a series of thin ceramic slabs, bathed in rapidly circulating coolant instead of the normal completely liquid or solid-state laser. The benefits of the hybrid design is that it has the size of a solid state laser(roughly the size of a refrigerator) and the efficient thermal management of a liquid laser. Because it is mounted internally, the aircraft has been designed around the weapon, and can therefore split along its horizontal axis in order to reveal and subsequently fire the weapon. The on-board power for the Falken only allows the laser to be fired a total of ten times, for a maximum of five seconds per shot.

The HELLADS primary usage is as an ABM system, but the pilots that fly the Falken has discover it’s very effective against most fighters, however this is not due to it being able to burn through the enemy fighter as the laser is not strong enough to in the brief seconds it’ll have on the fighter. The reason it’s effective is that the laser is strong enough to permanently blind the pilot.
