Anyone heard about this? Apparently MGM is going to be filming a Jack-centric Stargate movie this fall! Check it out at Gateworld: http://www.gateworld.net/news/2009/04/third-sg-1-movie-has-a-go/ |

awesome ... I hope it is a great story .... hmmmm .... RDA centered... well I hope also that he gets back in shape so that it is more usual Jack action pack rather than bits of "jokes" . |

Back in shape? WHat are you suggesting?!! Giggle. He's as rough and tumble as he ever was. They are actually thinking of doing a MacGyver movie as welll... |

RDA has had several surgeries on his left and right foot. Due to that , he has put on some weight. And I must admit you do put on weight that much easier as you age. .... So to do Jack O'Neill justice, he rda, has to get in shape. If he was not going to do any movie, I would say let his weight be what ever as is as long as he is healthy. But to do Jack, well he has to get in shape. |

Plus, RDA isn't going to be in the new MacGyver film. I was shocked to see how much weight he's put on recently. |

Suekay yes RDA has indeed put on a lot of weight. For the past year and a half I think he has several surgery (operation) done on his feet. As he explains it " all those years of forcing his feet on non-fitting hockey shoes". Due to the surgeries, he has not been able to exercise and as one ages the weight just piles on that much faster. |

I think I understand what you're saying, gatebee, about RDA needing to lose weight for this. If the PTB plan to make this movie with the old SG-1 feel then I agree. I seriously can't see them doing that though. Look what they've done with the SG-1 storyline by now... How can they take it back to the "good old days?" My personal opinion about whether or not Jack has gained some weight is I don't care as long Jack is not bitter and sarcastic. Maybe I'm still bruised from the Jack in Continuum? I don't want that Jack. Whichever reality you pick, I don't want that Jack. |

I heard they were going to start filming the new Stargate SG1 movie this fall. Amanda Tapping will be in it as well. |

The movie has a "green light" and may start filming later this year. Article at SciFiWire (click here). Quoted here in case the link dies:
