What is the next Trek series was not even based around the Titan or the Romulans or any know species of Star Trek what if they base it around a culture that initiates contact with the Federation. YOu know get more inot like the Bajoran Culture or LIke the Acamarians, or that one species that the Enterprise E crew met in Insurecction. YOu know follow the tials and tribulations of a minor culture trying to make a bond with the federation that would be interesting to see. Because focusing on a minor culture and watching it develop and make warp capabilities and then bumping heads with the majopr powers of the quadreant until they find a Dominant Government ENtity that fits their needs. Plus you could really styrectch that kind of thing.

How about a series based at Starfleet command itself?

that would also be a cool idea.. it would be sweet if they showed the various ships on their missions and especially that kind of perspective during the Dominion War... but if they did that it would be harder to have the whole character development part of star trek.

ACtually rabbit you could follow one charachter around. Follow a lowly crewman working his way through the ranks, and zero in on his experienes from the academy to first ship assignment, to promotion to senior staff and eventually promotion to captain where the series would take on the Classic Star Trek appeal unitil the charachter decides to retire or promotion to admiral

ya, that would be pretty kewl.. other tv shows do do that too, ones about a secret agent or somebody like that that goes on different missions and you follow him through the ranks.. so i bet star trek could do that and it would be pretty kewl

This would be a very interesting show indeed. We all know what goes on with the senior officers, we should now explore someone rising up through the ranks. I believe there are many great storylines that could come form this. This is something that has never been done before on star trek. We could also get away from monumental events happening in the entire star trek universe and simply focus on one persons life.

I have a feeling focusing on one persons life in the Star Trek universe would become rather dull and boring and more like a soap opera set on a starship rather than Star Trek.
