Cheryl Cole set for second solo number one 11:09 | Tuesday October 26, 2010 Source: MW By Ben Cardew Cheryl Cole looks set to score her second solo number one single this Sunday, with Promise This likely to de-throne Bruno Mars' Just The Way You Are (Amazing) from the top of the charts. Singles Promise This (Polydor), the first single to be taken from Cole’s second solo album Messy Little Raindrops, has sold almost 70,000 copies so far this week, after Cole performed it on last Saturday’s X Factor, putting it ahead of Rihanna’s Only Girl (In The World) [Def Jam]. Mars’ Just The Way You Are (Amazing), which topped the charts for a second time on Sunday, looks likely to drop to three. New singles from Tim Berg (Seek Bromance on Ministry of Sound), Yasmin (Runaway on Island) and Peter Andre (Defender on Conehead) should also challenge for the top 20. Albums On the albums chart, a slew of new entries look unlikely to topple Kings of Leon’s Come Around Sundown (Columbia) from the number one slot. It has sold another 23,000 copies so far this week to add to its 183,289 in first week of release, putting it ahead of new albums from Joe McElderry (Joe McElderry on Syco), The Wanted (The Wanted on Geffen) and Taylor Swift (Speak Now on Mercury). New albums from Barbra Streisand, Elton John & Leon Russell, The Soldiers, Bryan Ferry and Charlotte Church should challenge for the top 20, while the debut album from the hotly-tipped Warpaint (The Fool on Rough Trade) should make the top 40. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Top 40 Only Singles 1 Cheryl Cole 68k 2 Rihanna 51k 3 Bruno Mars 4 Cee Lo Green 5 Katy Perry Top 10 8 Nelly Michael Buble Top 15 Tim Berg Devlin Top 20 Peter Andre Top 30 BoB/Rivers Cuomo Wanted [ATL] Top 40 Ironik ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Albums 1 Kings of Leon 23k 2 Joe McElderry 3 Wanted 4 Taylor Swift 5 Michael Buble Top 10 Barbara Striesand Top 15 Elton John/Leon Russell Soldiers Top 20 Bryan Ferry Charlotte Church Top 30 The Harmonies 24 Cheryl Cole Top 40 Warpaint NO SALES INFO Edited by Mikey, Oct 26 2010, 12:27 PM.
