Cee-Lo's big FU to Robbie
10:53 | Tuesday October 5, 2010

Singles

Cee-Lo Green has taken an early lead in the first of Q4’s big chart battles, with his single Forget You (Warner Bros) outselling Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow’s Shame (Virgin).

Forget You, which proved an internet hit earlier this year in its original F*** You form, sold close to 40,000 copies yesterday on its first day of release to Shame’s 27,000, according to Official Chart Company sales flashes.

In addition, Tinie’s Swedish House Mafia collaboration Miami 2 Ibiza, which is scheduled for a full single release later this month, looks likely to chart in the top 10 this Sunday as consumers cherry pick it from the album, while his third Parlophone single Written In The Stars, which topped the charts last Sunday, should remain in the top five.

New singles from Kings Of Leon (Radioactive on RCA) and Magnetic Man featuring Katy B (Perfect Stranger on Columbia) should also challenge for the top ten this Sunday.

Albums

Meanwhile, Tinie Tempah is set to secure another raft of chart hits this Sunday: his debut Parlophone album Disc-Overy looks set to top the chart after selling more than 30,000 copies on its first day of release.

Imelda May’s new Decca album Mayhem is off to a strong start, selling almost 4,000 copies on its first day of release, slightly ahead of A-ha’s new best of 25 (Rhino).

I think Mike Posner owes a lot to Cher Lloyd. The single was flopping big time until she performed it on x-factor.
