Dizzee Rascal is odds on to score his second number one single this Sunday with Armand Van Helden collaboration Bonkers (Dirtee Stank), while Eminem looks set to top the albums chart.

Bonkers, the follow up to Dizzee’s chart-topping Dance Wiv Me, sold upwards of 45,000 copies yesterday on the first day of release, doubling the sales total of nearest competitor Black Eyed Peas’ Boom Boom Pow (Interscope).

Below them is Fairytale from Alexander Rybak, who won the Eurovision Song Contest for Norway last weekend. The song looks set to score a top five chart placing this Sunday.

Britain’s Eurovision entry, Jade Ewen’s It’s My Time (Geffen) should climb into the top twenty, while fellow Eurovision songs Yohanna’s Is It True, Alex Swings Oscar Sings’s Miss Kiss Kiss Bang, Waldo People’s Lose Control and Randajad’s Urban Symphony are all currently within the top 75 on midweek sales flashes. They represented, respectively, Iceland, Germany, Finland and Estonia at the competition.

On the albums chart, Eminem’s Relapse (Interscope) is way ahead of its nearest competitor, Green Day’s 21st Century Breakdown (Reprise), selling some 64,000 units on day of release.

New albums from Manic Street Preachers (Journal For Plague Lovers [Columbia]) and Madness (The liberty Of Norton Folgate [Lucky 7]) will also compete for top ten placings.

And how many songs sung in Estonian have been on the verge of charting before..

It's all thanks to the strong sales of ESC collection I presume. Is it well promoted on iTunes and elsewhere?

I really hope Alexander stays top 10... He's already out of iTunes' top 10 :/ And shame Jade isn't doing as well

Although i don't think i'll EVER get Dizzee Rascal's appeal, it's nice to see strong singles sales

WHAT?! he's already out?!
It was removed from iTunes for some reason...
Which is odd, because all the other Eurovision songs are still on there

BTW, Jade has dropped to #34 on UK iTunes now (It was Top 20 yesterday), so I guess she may drop out of the official Top 20 by the end of the week too...

It is strange about Alexander though...

LOL @ the singles sales!! Should be almost double that tomorrow!

Great that Alexander is back on iTunes i was getting worried :P hopefully he can retain his top 10 position... Does anyone know if there are any plans for a physical release? Or a proper video being released? It seems so weird that the song was being promoted on the live appearance :/

Rybak success 'marred after label blunder'

Wednesday, May 20 2009, 19:48 BST

By David Balls, Music Reporter

Alexander Rybak's chances of topping the charts around the world have been knocked after EMI Records temporarily removed 'Fairytale' from iTunes.

The Norwegian star's Eurovision winning song was unavailable to download for hours today after an alleged dispute over ownership of the track.

Fans attempting to purchase 'Fairytale' were told by iTunes that "the request could not be completed". The song subsequently dropped to number nine on the download chart in the UK, from a peak of number three yesterday.

It was also temporarily removed from iTunes stores in a number of countries around the world.

Since Rybak's record-breaking win at the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday, 'Fairytale' has seen download sales significantly increase across much of Europe, Australasia and the USA.

According to latest midweek sales in Britain, the song is expected to chart at number four on Sunday.

:( hope he stays top 10!

Nice to see Alicia finally making it into the top 10... Hope it stays there! Not looking too good for Kelly's IDNHU or is it just me?
