Warp Records could be on course for its first ever UK number one album with Maximo Park's newly-issued Quicken The Heart currently the week's top-selling release.

The band, whose last album Our Earthly Pleasures reached number two in 2007, are presently around 3,700 sales ahead of their closest challenger, Interscope/Polydor act Lady GaGa's The Fame, with Parlophone's Lily Allen a little further behind with It's Not Me It's You. The current number one, Columbia act Bob Dylan's Together Through Life, is expected to make a sharp fall and could be struggling to remain in the top five.

Following the Top 20 hit single Rubber Lover, 14th Floor/Warner's Marmaduke Duke's debut album Duke Pandemonium should debut inside or around the Top 10 this Sunday, while other new entries to the chart will include Graham Coxon's The Spinning Top, released through the Transgressive label, a new Sony Jim Reeves best of and a Thunder retrospective issued by EMI. Former Relentless/Virgin act Ben's Brother's first Universal Island album, Battling Giants, will also make its chart bow.

A two-way battle for top honours has broken out on the singles chart with 4th & Broadway/Island act Tinchy Stryder featuring N-Dubz's current chart-topping Number 1 facing a new challenge from Polydor act Black Eyed Peas' Boom Boom Pow. The newly-released single has been number one for five weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.

Parlophone's Lily Allen is eyeing a move into the top five with It's Not Fair, while Asylum/Atlantic's Alesha Dixon is expected to score her third Top 20 solo hit with Let's Get Excited.

Meanwhile, soul veteran Bill Withers' classic Ain't No Sunshine will make its belated first entry into the UK singles chart after being performed by Britain's Got Talent contestant Shaun Smith. The original version, which in contrast to its non-UK chart appearance reached number three in the US in 1971, is presently the 28th top-selling single of the week, according to retail reports.
