EDIT: I wrote this tutorial thinking there wasn't one then realised there was a video tutorial, arnt i an idiot. Oh well 2 tutorials are better than 1. So, you've played Renegade and now bored of the overall look? Here i will tell you how to install a new weapon skin, and a nice sound skin to match. First off, find a good skin website, such as Jelly-Games Community, this website has many many skins for characters, buildings, sounds, HUDs etc. Now in this case we going to install a weapon skin, so if you've decided to use Jelly Community click on the 'Weapons' tab. Why not download the 'Baretta' skin to change the look of your pistol? Click download and save the file to a suitable location. Now to find a sound file, click 'Sounds' then scroll down the page till you find the 'Weapon Sounds' list. Download the 'Pistol Sound' file and save it to a suitable location. Now i download all my files to my desktop then unzip into another folder on my desktop so i can easily see the contents of the download. All Renegade skins wether they be weapon skins or sound files go straight to your C Drive, Westwood, Renegade, Data folder. In this case you want to put all the files from you download into the Data folder except for the readme, and the image file, if your download came with one (this is a just a picture for you to look at, and doesnt get put in the game). Your skin should now work, launch up Renegade and join a muliplayer practise game and test out the Skin and Sound. Building, Character, HUD and all other skins are installed in the same way, if you're having problems, post here and either me or someone else will help. ![]() The skin works!!!! Note that some skins have both a 3rd person skin and a 1st person skin, this pistol is only visible in 1st person. Both install in the same way. |
![]() Why use Windows or Gates when you can walk through walls? Got LINUX? | |
