Shattered Twilight, like every guild, has several guild policies that are enforced to keep the guild intact and functioning. These policies are active and if a policy is broken then there will be consequences. Please do not make our jobs harder then they already are. There is a lot of work to run/maintain a guild and even in jovial senses we will enforce these policies.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Activity:
There are two forms of activity for Shattered Twilight. There is guild activity and then there is also raiding activity. Our policies on activity proceed as follows:

Guild Activity:
All guild-mates are encouraged to interact with each other, after all we are a community. Be it in game, at raids, or on the forums (all of which are strongly encouraged) we want to see interaction amongst each other. Though in some cases certain people just do not interact much with others. Maybe saying one sentence every week in guild chat is enough for them, but current precedent in the guild is any guild-mate who does not show at least a small level of sociability with their fellow guild-mates will be removed. This is due to the fact that being part of a community means you interact with it. If you do not interact with that community it can only be seen that you do not really wish to be a part of that community. With that assumption in place, there would be no reason for you to be part of Shattered Twilight other then a completely self focused one, which is not what our goal is for our guild mates.

Obviously, if you do not log onto your character frequently, that will prevent you from interacting with the guild. Any member that does not log on for a prolong period of days (typical case would be months) without notifying a Officer (write an in game letter or personal message on the forums) can be removed instantly. You must make sure you notify us. Neglecting to do so is asking to have your membership revoked.

Raiding Activity:
Being an active raider means that you cannot be recruited over which guarantees you that you will have a raid position in each and every raid we do. Class balance is constantly checked, and activity is also constantly checked. Class balance is maintained on active raiders, not active guildies. You can be an active guild-mate but not an active raider. As such, if you are an active raider you will not have more competition from your class provided there is enough active raiders in that class. If, for whatever reason, one of your classmates or yourself go inactive the guild is allowed to recruit over that person's spot and invite a new person to fill that inactive spot. As such the former inactive guild-mate will be dropped to a penalized raid priority. Meaning it will be harder for them to raid if they ever want to.

To maintain Active Raider status you must do the following:
You must attend a large majority of our scheduled raids that we do each week as well as stay for the full duration of those raids. This effectively means you need to: show up on time, all the time, and for the full time. Failure to meet these requirements will affect your future with raiding within our team.

The reason why Raid Activity is so stressed is because if you win an item one week, but do not show up for the next 2 weeks, what good did it do the guild to reward a valuable DPS/Heal/Tanking upgrade to someone who isn't there? The item you won could have gone to someone else who would have been there for future pulls, which means that item's extra stats would have helped us secure future kills.

In the event that you: cannot show up for a raid on time, show up to a raid at all, or cannot stay for the full duration it is required that you contact an officer in the guild before the raid begins. Repeated failure to notify us will present consequences to you and your future with this group.

Please do note though, that if you have to take a short MIA (be it 3 weeks or less) you will not lose your Active Raider status. But that is only provided if you inform an Officer of your MIA. If you do not inform an Officer you will be recruited over.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friends and Socails:
In Shattered Twilight we allow family members and friends to be members of the guild even if we don't have room for them in our raiding core. They are considered, as what most guilds title it, Socials.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guild Bank Withdraws:
Any recruit rank or higher within the guild has access to view or deposit items into the guild bank. But only Officer members within the guild have the ability to withdraw items from the guild bank. If for some reason you want an item from the guild bank all you have to do is ask an Officer to withdraw the item for you. Do understand though that just because you ask does not mean you will receive. It is up to the Officers to decide if the request is reasonable or not. The guild bank is run strictly off donations. Anything in there is items or money that one of your guildies felt might be helpfull to someone else.

Also understand the following; Shattered Twilight is a PvE raiding guild. As such, such things as: rare epic gems are reserved for raiding purposes only. If there is a time where the guild has almost lost all value for such raiding utility items it will then be open for PvP orientated devices.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Loot System:
The loot system Shattered Twilight uses to deal with loot is:

+1

Effectively you join a raid with +0. An item drops, we allow the classes that can use the item 'correctly' to do a standard /roll. Winner receives item. If you win the item you now have 1 tally, or a +1. If you don't win, you remain at +0.

From here, you continue the raid with rolls on items in a typically fashion. However if a person has more tallies then someone else, their roll will be ignored and the item will go to the lowest tallied player. Each raid day resets the tallies or +'s.

However, certain items will be handled in a loot council style fashion. This typically revolves around boss heads and Legendaries. (Basically the items a PuG should not expect in the first place) In these situations the officers will discuss amongst each other the best recipient for the item.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New Recruits and the Guild Bank:
All new recruits have restricted access to the guild bank. These restrictions prevent them from being allowed to gain any items from the guild bank. The reason this rule exists is to prevent potential thieves from dinning and dashing. All recruits cannot get items from the guild bank until after they pass their two week trial and are made members.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rank System:
There are several ranks within the guild. They proceed as follows:

Quote:

Recruit: Any new member to the guild who is currently in their 2 week evaluation phase.

Social: Players automatically invited to the guild based on being a good friend of someone already in the guild, however these members have no interest in raiding with Shattered Twilight.

Member: Players who are in the guild with the intent of raiding with us. (This does include back up players)

Officer: These are the effective leaders of the guild. They make all major decisions to shape and move the guild forward. Officers represent the very embodiment of the guild, and our intended goals and opinions.

Guild Master: Effectively the over all leader of the guild. Though the Guild Master holds as much sway as any Officer. The Guild Master just full-fills any policy established by the Officers by the use of means implemented within the World Of Warcraft game.

Members can proceed through the hierarchy of the guild if the display and full-fill the criteria of each position. If a person does not full-fill their said rank, they can be demoted to a lower rank. Promotions are handled by voting of the Officers.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Respect Where Respect is Due:

Shattered Twilight aims to be one of the strongest raiding guilds on the server while also remaining one of the most respected guilds amongst the community. To achieve that all members are expected to be respectful to not only guild mates but players out side the guild as well. This kind of attitude will result with us getting to our goals much more easily.

We will not tolerate any member that attempts to truncate this goal of ours.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saving Yourself to Out of Guild Raids:

We have often seen guild-mates PuGing or running raids with other groups. There are some raids we that we do not currently concern ourselves with, which typically are raids that are no longer relevant to current progression. However several members decide to join any raid they want to, even the ones that the guild still has its focus on.

If members consistently save themselves to other runs, they can no longer attend the guild runs. As such, if you can't join our raid because you are already saved, you are worthless to the raiding team. Your position in this guild is one that states we trust you to be at our raids. With that trust you are given a spot in the guild of which we do not seek a new recruit to replace you. It takes a lot of work to organize and keep the guild happy by providing raids of which we can all go to and clear. However, if you feel you want to go to another raid besides one of the guild's, you must always ask for Officer permission. The only exceptions are for those raids that we no longer have focus on. To be certain which raids we are currently focusing on, please ask an officer within the guild.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seventy-Five Percent Rule:
Be it for whatever reason, if Shattered Twilight cannot bring in 75% of the total people needed for a scheduled raid, then there will be no acceptance of PuGs or further time spent on that raid. Instead the raid will be canceled due to poor attendance. This rule exists because Shattered Twilight wants any victories we achieve to be our victories. We do not want our victories nailed to some other group. 25% of a raid that is PuGed is an acceptable amount where we cannot claim full credit, but we can definitely still proclaim the success was mostly our work. The time period of which the Raid Leader decides to cut and evaluate the % of the raid that is present is up to the Raid Leader discretion. There is no defined period of time and it will always be up to the Raid Leader's decision of when to stop to see if the 75% rule is reached yet or not.

We might not be the first ones at to the top of the mountain, but we will get there, and we will plant our flag amongst all the greats that have gotten there before us.

I am impressed with the level of thought that has gone into the guild policies. They appear as fair as possible, with good rationale behind amended policies to account for imbalances that occurred as a result of prior policy sets. I am looking forward to working with the guild to see, and be a part of, further successes. :)

This IS an ancient thread. The pug section isn't updated.

I'm glad to know that things are a bit more casual within the guild now. Instead of 75% attendance we demand 100% for a raider spot. <troll.jpg>
