In case you're wondering no I didn't make it myself. I got the theme from Dakota over at the Support and Themes Board.

Yeah I know I should've changed things up YEARS agp. Well, at least I finally made things interesting. I can say for sure we won't be going back to the defaul layout ever =D

Oh and the Shoutbox has been enabled. In order to use it you need to be logged in and not be banned of course. A couple of forums have also been added or moved.

Serene Adventure.net will be back online sometime tomorrow morning. It will remain online through the second week of April. Mark your calendars and spread the word!

In the meantime, here's a look at some of the things I'm going to do once Serene Adventure.net is back online:

NEW Section: Schoolhouse

As many of you know, I work in education. Since technology has taken center stage at work lately I've decided to add a section where some of the work I've been doing can be viewed and/or downloaded.

NEW Sub Category: Anime Boston 2012

Like last year, I will be covering Anime Boston this year. I will be updating the section on a weekly basis with news as it comes leading up to the weekend long convention.

Sitewide Updates

...Should be self-explanatory. Prettymuch every section of the site needs updating. I expect it to take the entire weekend so....yeah.


Improved Mature Content Filtering

Except for my posted stories and Fan Fiction, the goal is to keep the site PG-13 and under. In light of a certain section I created last year specifically for venting (In My Raw Opinion), said section can now only be accessed via a link from the forums. I will also put a mature content check in the Anime Section to prevent "accidental viewing" by those who may not want to see videos and pictures with certain exaggeratedly large body parts, gore, etc.

I bought a new headset since Serene Adventure's been offline so...yeah. I do plan on re-recording some of the audio files I recorded last year to go with that.

Here is a Master List of all of the Master Boards and their child boards. They're not hyperlinked here and in my opinion the board descriptions are sufficient enough. Even so, I'm doing this as a favor for alot of folks who may need a bit more info.

Serene Adventure: This is actually a link to the main site, which is currently offline. Serene Adventure.net will be reactivated Fall 2011.

Serene Adventure News: This is where I post news and info in regards to the main site and the forums. In an effort to reduce clutter, info having to with other stuff such as Video Games and Anime can be found in their respective board.

Archived Site News (Subforum): A hard copy of every update posted on Serene Adventure.net can be found here. When the site experiences downtime, feel free to come here and catch up on past events you may have missed.

QCCC: Need help with something around the forums or website? Wanna make a suggestion, submission etc.? This is the place to do it.

From the Old Forums: Everything I was able to save from the old forums can be found here. Zeta Boards is the new host of the Serene Adventure Forums. I felt the features Zeta Boards offers was worth the free upgrade from Invisionfree.

A Metal & Associates: A hyperlink to the other website I manage, which is currently online. A Metal & Associates has their own forums so if you have any questions about A Metal & Associates, go there.


Everything Else/Off-Topic


General Chat: Here you can kick back and talk about anything that doesn't fit in the other boards.

Sports Talk: Yes, I gave sports a separate forum. Talk about all of them here.

Staff Lounge: Pretty self-explanatory. on forum staff can access this board. 'Nuff said.

Anime and Manga: This is the place to discuss Manga and Anime. Notice some Anime have their own subforum. The subforums that are posted here are at my discretion and they're always going to be Anime I've seen myself. I will make an exception if enough people ask for one AND a moderator agrees to monitor the new board. That's it.

Video Games: The place to discuss video games from back in the day to present. Yes, I'm aware there isn't a board for every single system. That's what the subforum Old School Gaming is for. As for why Pokemon and World of Warcraft have their own subforums, I think I made the obvious in the topics there. If a game is released on multiple consoles, you only need to make a thread about the game in one unless each version has a different storyline and/or characters.

Active Staff List

The active staff list has been unchanged since the site first launched back in the day. In the event the forums become more lively I hope to add more names to thie list!

In order of signficance:


1. Yet another change for the name of Serene Adventure. Depending on where you've heard the name, you know Serene Adventure as either being the clubhouse for World of Warcraft Players or the place where yours truly has been posting his Original Fiction and Fan Fiction. Of course, the more known version is the now dead Video Game project I started five years ago.

Now, I've got a new idea: Effective July 4, 2010, Serene Adventure will be an Action Tank. Got an idea you want to try out but need a way to try it out? This is the place to do it! Let's say you want to work as a handyman doing odd jobs in your neighborhood. This would be the place to announce yourself to the world. Offering to cater for a function or special occasion. This is a good place to offer your services.

At the moment, Serene Adventure has one entrepreneur and that is of course, me. Here is just a small list of the services you can hire me for both online and in real life:

- Moderate TV and Computer Set up/Programming (I don't deal with Apple Products, nor will/can I mount your flatscreen to the wall)
- Mapping/Trip planning (Free service)
- MBTA Travel and Time Management (Get to where you want to go fast with minimal waiting)
- World of Warcraft's Recruit a Friend (Online computer game)
- Legal Document Preparation and Proofreading (Very low service fee. Disclaimer: I am not an attorney--yet.)
- Homework/Tutoring (Ages 4+)
- Type Like a Pro (I teach you how)
- Pwning Your Kids' Internet L33t Skillz! (Translation: How to make sure the younguns and even the older ones stay safe when surfing the 'net)
- Facebook, G-Mail and Twitter, Oh My!


Once we get the momentum, with luck I'll be able to reopen the main site. For the time being all of these services are exclusive to Boston. I'm looking to get a location as some of these will be workshops. The idea is you don't have to be a master of all and if I can do it, so can you. The best part is you can request a free sample before we talk about pricing, etc.


2. The links to Serene Overload and Wire Overload have been removed. The reason being both sites have been offline for over a year. One of them is actually part of my site and from the looks of things it won't be coming back.

You'll find my forums pretty liberal compared to A Metal's. You'll be happy to know that unless you do something pretty bad, your behavior on one site has no bearing on the other. Still, that's obviously not a free pass to be an idiot on either site. For those with younguns or those who are more..."conservative" is the world I'll use: You find some parts of the forums unsuitable. Don't worry, they've ALL be clearly marked and labeled.

I have three DS Systems (Two lite, one DSi) so I can probably Battle/Trade with three people at once. I have all 493 Pokemon in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum as well as all 386 in Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red and Leaf Green. I also have an Action Replay DS and will make Pokemon or Eggs (Shinies and legendaries included) upon request. That is all.
