Jerry Eisenhower and Alex Brooks are sitting at a table in a bar in the city that is Las Vegas. It’s not a trendy bar, it’s not a fashionable bar, and it’s not a bar where you would take your girlfriend. There is no glitz or glamour in this place. It’s dark, it’s dank, it’s dingy and it’s where drinkers go to drink. You won’t be bothered here.

Jerry Eisenhower raises his beer glass to his mouth and sculls a large amount before place it back on the table with a thud, only a dribble left in the bottom of the vassal. Alex Brooks is sitting with a glass of what appears to be Coca-Cola in front of him.

“Ya know Kid, ya gettin’ good.”

“I’m getting better, Jerry. I wouldn’t say I’m getting good. Sure, I beat Nightmare and Rey Rosario, but I wasn’t good enough to beat Jay Wildman.”

“Stop kiddin’, Kid. I reckon you’ll be Heavyweight champ before the end of the year, and I tell ya what I’ll even show ya how ta avoid bein’ taken out by some champ that’s afraid of losin’.”

“I hope I can be Champ, Jerry. It doesn’t have to be by the end of the year. Just one day. Besides, Jerry I can’t think about being World Champion. I have to think about beating James Von Drake on Showdown. I have to think about how to overcome his strengths and how I can attack his weaknesses.”

Jerry waves his hand at the bartender, in a way that indicates that he has been here before and comes here often.

“Ya know, Kid. Ya drop his head with over complicated DDT ya call the Starburst. And if ya need a bit more than that, well I don’t mind goin’ over and havin’ a chat with his missus; See if she is interested in comin’ back to hotel with good ole’ Jerry.”

“That’s not very nice, Jerry.”

“The world ain’t nice, Kid. And ‘sides you seen those tits. I’d been lovin’ gettin’ my tongue and wrappin’ it round those sexy nipples and getting’ me fingers, two or three wide and rammin’ in and outta that tight little snatch.”

Alex Brooks covers his ears with his hands.

“I don’t want to hear that, Jerry.”

Jerry grabs Alex’ hands and pulls them away from his ears.

“Shove my rigid cock inside her when she’s nice and wet.”

“La, La, La…”

Alex Brooks continues making noise to try and drown out Jerry Eisenhower who just bursts out with laughter.

The barmaid brings Jerry’s beer over; as she turns to walk away he slaps her on the ass. She pivots and slaps Jerry across the cheek in one movement. Alex Brooks laughs at Jerry, who takes a mouthful of beer as he rubs his cheek.

“I told you things you were saying and doing weren’t nice, Jerry.”

“Yeh, yeh, Kid. What were ya sayin’ about James Von Drake?”

Jerry completely changes the subject after his embarrassment.

“I was saying I’m not sure how to go about taking on James Von Drake. JVD has had the best training money could buy. He won his first title younger than I am now, he has the support of his family by his side, and he is one of The Company’s main men.”

Alex Brooks takes a sip of his drink, while Jerry swallows about half of his beer, leaving him with a “mo” which he wipes off with his forearm.

“So whatcha ya sayin’, Kid. Is the guy is a better wrestler than ya. And ya sayin’ he’s a better champion than ya. And his family work with ‘im. And the Bosses like ‘im.”

“Yes, Jerry. That is what I’m saying. He seems a lot more skilled than me. I’m not saying I can’t beat him, but the things look tough for me. I know I beat Nightmare, but I had something to prove then, and I beat Rey Rosario – but let’s be honest he tried to blame for everything that wrong in his life when it wasn’t my fault. But, James Von Drake is the only man to have beaten Jay Wildman and I couldn’t beat Jay Wildman.”

“Ha!”

“What’s so funny, Jerry?”

“You are.”

“Why am I so funny?”

“You don’t think ya can’t beat Jay Vee Dee.”

“But he will be tough for me.”

“Look ‘ere Kid. I’m gonna tell ya some things. And then when I’m said and done, ya can think about what I told ya. And then ya can go do that stand in front of the camera and talk thing that ya do.”

“Ok, Jerry.”

“Now, Kid, first things Jay Vee Dee didn’t beat no Jay motherfuckin’ Wildman. He beat that pansy makeup wearin’ faggot Zara-something…”

“Zarathustra”

“Yeh, like I said, Zara-something. So don’t go worryin’ about that. And then ya tellin’ me ya worried about the trainin’ he got ‘cause his daddy had some money. Well, Kid let me tell ya this. I can just about guaran-damn-tee that I’m a better trainer than any trainer Jay Vee Dee had. Why? I’m gonna tell ya why. All his trainers were interested in was makin’ so they gonna tell ‘im anythin’ they think he wants ta hear. Me, I’m trainin’ ya for nothin’ and I don’t want no money so I got no reason ta tell ya that ya doin’ good when ya not.”

“Am I getting better, Jerry?”

“In some stuff, yeh ya are Kid. But in doing what I tell ya and stayin’ away from that flyin’ Mexican flippy-floppy shit and doin’ real wrestlin’. No ya fuckin’ ain’t. But, we ain’t talkin’ about ya. We talkin’ about Jay Vee Dee, and ya better than ‘im and ya getting’ better trainin’ than ‘im, so if ya thinkin’ ‘bout winnin’ than ya gonna beat ‘im, but if ya think about losin’ then ya gonna lose, aren’t ya. Ya know what I’m sayin?”

Alex Brooks stares at Jerry Eisenhower for a second, processing what has just been said before speaking.

“Yes, I think so.”

“Than what am I sayin’ kid?”

“You are saying if I think I beat him than I have the better training so I will beat him.”

“Ya fuckin’ got it in one, Kid. Ya wanna know why else ya can beat Jay Vee Dee, Kid?”

“Of course I do, Jerry. You are my friend so I always want to know what you have to say.”

“Because the Company ain’t shit.”

“What do you mean by that, Jerry?”

“I mean the Company ain’t shit. Anderson is goin’ bat shit crazy, stressin’ ‘bout this Organised Chaos stuff. Ya think he gonna be worried about Jay Vee Dee. He ain’t. Don’t worry about the Company. They ain’t comin’ ta help Jay Vee Dee when ya kickin’ him pillar to post.”

Alex Brooks nods.

“And as for his family… ain’t happenin'. His missus isn’t goin’ to be an issue to you. Ya gonna have Jay Vee Dee one on one and ya gonna kick his ass.”

“You really think so, Jerry?”

“Of course I think so, Kid. But can ya do me one favour for me at Showdown?”

“Yes, Jerry. I can do it.”

“Can ya rip Lucy Vee Dee’s top off, I wanna get an image of her luscious titties in my head when I go to sleep at night.”

“Jerry!”

“Oh get over it, Kid. Titties is titties and pussy is pussy. Get some and enjoy it. But first go kick Jay Vee Dee’s ass on Showdown and get me Lucy’s phone number. I want to tell her some things.”

“Ok, Jerry. But, I’m not going to pull down Lucy Von Drake’s top just so you can see her breasts.”

“Ya, spoil sport, Kid. Reckon ya could do one thing for me, then?”

“Depends on what is Jerry. I don’t want to get arrested or anything like that.”

“Get me that pretty little barmaid’s phone number. She won’t give it ta me.”

“Jerry!”

Alex Brooks shakes his head, and Jerry gets up from his seat and heads towards the bar to order another drink. Brooks finishes his coke as he looks around the lower end of town and thinks about how he will defeat James Von Drake on Sunday at Showdown.

Brooks knows he will have to work as hard as he did against his three previous opponents and he knows he can’t de distracted. He knows… Victory will come with the Starburst.

“We gotta go, Kid.”

“Why”

“Don’t ask questions, Kid. We just gotta. Otherwise, you ain’t makin’ to Showdown to beat James Von Drake.”

Jerry almost drags Alex to his feet and out of the chair. From across the room six massive guys covered in tattoos and brandishing baseball bats start stalking across the room towards Jerry and Alex. With their colours on, it was clear they were local members of the Hell’s Angels.

Jerry runs out the door, leaving Alex for the briefest of moments, before coming back in and grabbing him by the collar and dragging him out the door before he is destroyed by the Hells Angels.
