Can I Blame Bobby?

It’s been a couple of weeks since I was caught with a woman in The Velvet Room by my fiancé. I haven’t been home in that same time period. Instead of sleeping in my own bed every night, my back has had the unpleasant task of enduring the uncomforting couch that belongs to Bobby Dean and Reaper’s hotel room. Sleep has been scarce as I lay awake at nights not only because of the uncomfortable couch but also trying to figure out how to fix my family. I have been in this situation before and I was able to fix it by moving Jessica and Nicole to Vegas to live with me, but this is a whole other beast. I am supposed to be getting married soon, but now I may be alone. I wanted to just say Bobby drugged me and it was all his fault, but unfortunately that would not work.

I finally gave up on sleep at ten in the morning and decided to get something to eat. In the kitchen, I poured a bowl of peanut butter Captain Crunch cereal and took a seat at Bobby’s idea of a table. Three bites into my breakfast the man himself enters the kitchen. It was the first time I had seen his hair out of place.

“I used the last of the milk.” I said as he started to pour himself a bowl of cereal.

“I don’t use milk.” He shot me a grin.

He was right; he doesn’t use milk for his cereal. Instead of milk the man grabbed a bottle of Jack Daniels out of the refrigerator and doused his cereal with it. He took a seat across from me and started stuffing his mouth. I couldn’t help but think how crazy Bobby Dean truly is. As I sat there and watched him devour his cereal infused with JD I knew it was time for me to go. There was no way I could continue to stay with Bobby. It was time to win my family back.

I finished my cereal in a hurry and was about to get up when Reaper came into the kitchen. “Good morning boys,” his words came out groggily. He too went for the cereal. I was about to let him know that I drank the last of the milk, but before I could get my words out he sat down beside me at the table and started eating his cereal dry.

I shot a glance over at Bobby and the self proclaimed “Name that Entertains” was shoveling the cereal in his mouth before he finished chewing what he already had stuffed in there. The site was truly repulsive and reminded me of how an overweight thirteen year old would stuff his face with cheese puffs and then lick the residue off his fingers. On top of that he is eating with Jack Daniels…..and he wonders why his wife left him.

I walked over to the sink to rinse my bowl out. After completing the task I leaned against the counter and just stared both men. The site of two grown men with more money than they know what to do with, but no happiness in site makes me cringe. Whilst I admit I am no role model how to be a man because I have had my share of shortfalls, at least I am making an attempt at settling down and starting a family. Well attempt is the key word because right now things aren’t looking so hot.

“Yo Roscoe! You alright over there?” Reaper’s booming voice set my mind free from what I was thinking.

“Yeah, I’m good. Was just thinking about something.” Little did he know I was thinking about how much of a bum he was.

“I hope you’re thinking about Sunday. I saw the finalized card for Showdown and you got the man who took your title,” his words filled with cynicism.

“Yep, I seen the card,” I began. “It’s about time I finally get my rematch, though it should have been for the title. What I’m trying to figure out is most of the former champions get rematches, but I somehow get left out? Looks like I will have to pay a trip to Matt Anderson on Sunday.”

Bobby starts to laugh, “You know why that is don’t you?” he asks.

“Actually I don’t, so why don’t you enlighten me.”

In true Bobby fashion he rises from his seat, walks over to me and throws his arm over my shoulder. “There are two simple reasons as to why that is. First reason is because you are not beautiful,” he laughs at his own joke. “Second of all you are not the name that entertains!” Again, he lets out a bellow of laughter.

To make matters worse Reaper chimes in with laughter of his own. It’s apparent that I am in a losing battle so I say “what the hell?” and make it a 3 Musketeer thing by adding my laughter into the mix. After Bobby finally decides to get over his horrible joke the laughing subsides, “Whew! Now that was funny.”

A banging at the door interrupted us. Before anyone could get to the door, Jeremiah Sloan waltzed in with a look of desperation. “There you are Roscoe! Don’t you know how to answer your phone?!”

I gave Sloan a puzzled look because my phone hadn’t rang in some time. Then it hit me! My phone was dead because my charger was at home, a place I’m not currently allowed. “My phone is dead.” I responded tersely.

“Apparently,” he began with a snide attitude. “I have been trying to call you for the past three days! What the hell happened?”

“What do you mean what happened?” I asked, though well aware of what he was talking about.

“Jessica called me talking about she caught you cheating on her and that she was through with you. She mentioned something about going back to Kalamazoo. What did you do?” His condescending tone made me feel like the dirt on the bottom of my shoe.

I looked at Sloan and then at the other two. All eyes were on me. “It was Bobby’s fault.” Don’t ask me why I tried to blame it on Bobby. I guess deep down I was trying to pass the blame.

Sloan didn’t give Bobby a chance to rebut. “Don’t put Bobby into this! You were the one who messed up. Tell me what happened now!” Jay demanded. I had never seen him this mad.

“What the hell do you want me to say Jay? I messed up! That is all there is to it….I messed up!” There really was no other way to explain what happened. I messed up and that was it.

Jay throws his hands up in disbelief, “Have you tried to call her?”

“Of course I have! She doesn’t answer! Now my phone is dead and my charger is at the house. I have tried going to the house before but she won’t let me in. I tried going when she wasn’t home but there was a police officer sitting in the driveway. I don’t know what else to do!” I was offended that he didn’t think I would have at least called her. I was on the verge of going overboard.

“Fix it,” he said tersely. “And the three of you need to clean this damn place!” Jay added before storming out.

The three of us stood around looking at the door. Bobby grabbed the bottle of Jack Daniels off the table and took a swig straight from the bottle. Reaper followed suit and handed me the bottle. I looked down at the half empty bottle that rested in my hand and shrugged. My future wasn’t looking so bright right about now. I damn near chugged the rest of the bottle.
