Otis walked through the backstage area of Goodfella Casino Arena looking around at all the backstage staff, shutting up shop for the night after another gruelling edition of Showdown. This night was the first night that Otis had performed on Showdown and he knew that he was, slowly but surely, moving himself up the rung into conquering sVo, just like he stated he would a couple of weeks ago. There was something nagging Vintor Otis’s mind though; a nag that he knew would only increase with the passing days as he got closer to Showdown next week. The nag was the persisting threat of Loki Synn.

Before Otis knew it, he was standing outside his dressing room, the same dressing room that he had received the note in, from that jester of a man, who had promised something big to happen on next week’s Showdown. Otis didn’t know what to expect from this man; this unknown quantity who was making bold predictions, much like Otis had done a few weeks ago on UnSanctioned. Otis walked into his dressing room and went over to his locker and he picked out a tattered-looking old diary and a pen. He took the diary over to the table and sat down clearly with the intention to jot down his own thoughts.

Vintor Otis is a strange man; a very strange man but he had some humane qualities. While learning to read and write in prison, the teachers had suggested that he keep a diary in order to improve his vocabulary and to keep up the practice of just writing for the sake of it. This habit that Otis had developed all those years ago was still embedded in his character to the point where many of Otis’s inner thoughts were written in this diary. These were thoughts that Otis didn’t want anyone to know because of their shocking value and the perceived weakness implied through these thoughts.

As Otis began to write, he thought about how things had began to take effect now and how this was just the beginning. For Otis, the talking would be done in the ring, not on the pages of his diary. This diary would have to take a backseat, just for a little while as he got his mind on what was most important; destroying the Joker.
