" Most look up and admire the stars, a champion climbs a mountain and grabs one. " - Unknown Have you ever wanted something so bad? So bad that you were willing to do whatever it took to make sure that in the end it was yours? Professional athletes may enter their respective profession for a countless number of reasons. Whether it be the endless amount of money that continues to pile up from their contact, appearances, and endorsement deals, to the fame and the need for being in the spotlight and the watchful eye that comes with being a celebrity. Or it might even just be the simple fact that they love their profession so much that they want to compete on the highest level possible, at the biggest stage of them all, and showcase their talents day in and day out, each and every night, and go out there and put on one hell of a competition or performance for the paying public in attendance. Whatever the reason for entering the professional sport business, in the end whether they just want to go out there and play or they want to go out their and be recognized as the best athelete in their sport, ultimately their goal is to be on the winning team, to win the big one, to win the championship that says they are the best. Athletes train everyday non stop, even in their off season or days off, like mad men constantly pushing themselves beyond their limits and their bodies physical capacity so that they may achieve peak performance each and every time. They must realize that no matter how hard they may be training, no matter how much blood, sweat, and tears that they put into their workout regimen their is always going to be someone out there that is training just as hard if not harder than they are. And if they want to achieve their end goal that they must always have that mindset and push themselves harder every time and constantly set the bar higher, and higher. Much like football players who dream of winning the Super Bowl, or basketball players who want to win the Playoffs, or a hockey player looking to win the Stanley Cup.. "The Reflection of Perfection" Cody Williams is no different. You see, when he first started in this business he had one goal and one goal only: To become the best professional wrestler in the world. He knew that if he wanted to be the best that he had to train with the best, he had to wrestle the best, and he had to be a part of an organization that showcased the best professional wrestlers in the business. He spent countless hours in the gym working on his physique, the one that you see today, jacked and chisled to perfection as if he has carved from stone. He spent many years touring the globe, spending countless tours in Japan the home of Puroresu the strong style or wrestling that captivates hundreds of thousands of people in the land of the rising sun and pro wrestling enthusiasts salivate over. Cody Williams spent many years in numerous big time wrestling organizations testing his will, his talent, and his patience amongst truly some of the best they had to offer. He collected countless championships along the way, became World champion numerous times along the way but there was the one World championship that seemed to continue to elude him. The sVo Heavyweight Championship. All of the World titles that he had captured prior to his stint in the sVo were meaningful, and worth their weight in gold but the one championship he wanted he was unable to obtain. It was the one championship that meant everything to him, he had to have it and he was willing to do whatever it took to make sure that one day he would be able to call it his own. The lineage of the belt is one that Cody Williams would kill to have his name be a part of, one look at the past holders of the sVo Heavyweight Championship and it is like looking at the future hall of famers of this professional sport, a who's who of professional wrestling. The championship at one point in time felt so distant, so unattainable and quite possibily an unachievable dream that was sidelined, and forgotten of many times. But what was once far away is once again within arms reach. Cody can almost feel the ruby studs and the diamond rivets on the 4mm thick centerplate of the championship belt, the deeply engraved detail on the dual plated plates, the timely detail of the hand tooled, double stiched leather strap. Cody Williams continues to salivate at the idea of one day having the opportunity to compete for and ultimately hold this precious championship. But like many times before, he his hit with the preverbial roadblock that is stopping him from achieving this dream of his. Another obstacle in his way on the path to the top of the mountain where he truly believes he belongs. But unlike the many times in the past where he was held back, this time was different. It was different in that Cody Williams did this to himself, he put himself in this position and he must pull him out of it. What is it you may ask? On his bumpy, windy, road to the World Heavyweight championship he came up to a fork in the road and was faced with having to make a decision, and a hard one at that. Should he continue to pursue the top belt that this company has to offer? Or does he take the other road and reclaim what is rightfully his? After many days of thinking long and hard, and after the suggestion of his comrade Nathan Paradine he decided to take the high road and try to reclaim the sVo International championship. Call him crazy but capturing the belt could do wonders for his career. It would put to rest all of the critics who say that "The Reflection of Perfection" doesn't have what it takes to still compete in the business. He would shut up all the nay sayers that say his days off being a champion are numbered. And he would prove to everyone that he still has "it" and can stil step into that ring each and every night and deliver a performance like no other person can. And why? Because he is God's gift to professional wrestling, and will do anything and everything to be the best. Even if it means climbing a mountain. ;) William's Estate Beverly Hills, Ca 1043 Local time * CLICK * I reached for the light switch and flicked it upwards, turning it on. The blinding light from the flourescent lightbulbs above my head a little bit too much to bear. Raising my right arm I rub my eyes in an attempt to refocus them, momentarily blinded from the sudden burst of light. Blinking my eyes several times to moisten my eyes I re-open them now with a renewed ability to see. "Aww man, everytime." I stand in the doorway for a moment and take single step forward. I turn my head to the left slightly and begin to scan the contents of the room, turning me head in a semi-circular motion to the right. Before I could take another step to advance forward into the office I feel a tug at my dress pants just slightly lower than the back of my knee. Curious to see what it is I slowly begin to squat down, and get into position carefully, careful not to make too much noise or any sudden movements. I quickly turn around and extend my arms outwards. "GOTCHA!" I excitedly say as I swoop up little Cody and pick him up and into my arms. He lets out a giggle, shocasing his three teeth, "AHHHHHHHhhehehehee." I take one look at his hair and notice that he has a severe case of bed head and I take it upon myself to run my fingers through his hair in an attempt to make it at least a little somewhat presentable. After a few attempts but all to no avail, I decide that his hair is just going to continue running amuck because quite frankly that is one out of control hairdo. "Did you miss daddy?" I asked, and to much delight he squirmed around in my arms as he nodded his head yes, all the while making saliva bubbles with some motorboat type lip action. With Sasha nowhere to be seen, I put my hands on the sides of Cody and toss him into the air several times. Higher and higher he went, and louder and louder he got, laughing and giggling and smiling at the top of his lungs. Cody always enjoyed it when I threw him into the air, whether he was sad, mad, crying, whatever the case may be, one throw in to the air and he was his playful, laughing self again. Sasha on the other hand disliked me doing it and always said that one day I would drop him and no one would be laughing. Not knowing when the next time I would be able to play with Cody in this fashion I toss him into the air once more.. "There you are.. CODY!!!!" I look towards the doorway and see Sasha standing there, here hands on her hips, her eyes wide, and her nostrils flaring. I instantly remember why she is so upset and I turn my attention back to Cody and catch him with a few seconds to spare. I cradle him in my arms and bounce him back and forth from side to side, smiling towards Sasha. She damn near sprints towards me and extends her arms out to me, signaling that she would like to be as she says 'the responsible one'. She takes Cody into her arms and kisses him on the forehead, "See! That's why I don't like it when you do that!" "Sasha I was.." "You almost dropped him!" she said, cutting me off. Trying to get a word in try to quickly finish my sentence, "But we were..." "But nothing, you nearly scared me to death!" Sasha responded, cutting me off mid sentence once again. Don't you hate it when women do that? They will always cut you off so that you can't say what you have to say and they will make your ears bleed to death with their never ending opinions and emotions. But God forbid you ever cut a woman off, I pray for the soul who does that and makes it out in one piece. She smirked at me, "So are you ready for Sunday?" she asked trying to change the subject. "I'm as ready as i'll ever be." She reached out, extending her arm towards mine and grasped my hand in hers, "Cody and I will be there to watch you. I wish it were like old days and I was there by your side." I pick up her hand and raise it towards my face, kissing the back of her hand and then leaning in to kiss her on her forehead. Looking down at my son I run my fingers through his hair once more and kiss him on the forehead as well. He looks up at me with his innocent eyes and manages to smile at me which causes me to smirk. "This one is for you little man.." One more time. That's all I need. One more go around at the International championship belt. Many great wrestlers have held the International championship and have become some of the greatest professional wrestlers this sport has to offer: Johnny All-Star, Issac White, Beautiful Bobby Dean.. Cody Williams. And a good number of them have gone on to realize their dream and win the big one, the sVo World Heavyweight Championship: Psyko Stevo, Alex Ross, Roscoe Shame, and hall of famer Night. The International championship has a long line of great competitors who have achieved this great accomplishment and have gone on to write new, more successful chapters in their careers. But what will set me apart from the rest is when I become a two time international champion and solidfy myself as one of the greatest International championship holders of the modern era. But before I can claim the belt, I must go through not one, but two challengers this Sunday: DJ.. And Colt Cooper. This will be the first time that I step into the ring with DJ and it might not be the last. He has wrestled some of the best this company has to offer and whether he won or whether he lost, he put up one hell of a fight and would be a good International champion. But good isn't enough, you must be a great champion and DJ doesn't fit that description. He is no Roscoe Shame, Johnny All-Star, and he is definitely no Night. He has some big shoes to fill if he wants to be the International champion, and so early in his career I don't know if he is truly up to the challenge. On camera he may say he is ready and hungry, but I will be the one to say that he doesn't have what it takes to be International champion. One, because he still has a lot to learn and a lot more stripes to earn. And two, because "The Reflection of Perfection" Cody Williams will be standing in the ring across from him and a damn near miracle would have to happen for him to walk out of Showdown with the belt. You may want the belt, but I am more hungrier, and more ready than you will ever be and this Sunday you will find out exactly why I am God's gift to professional wrestling! Now Colt Cooper. You and I have been to this dance before. And much like our last meeting in the squared circle, this time will be no different because in the end you will be laying on your back in the middle of the ring, looking up at the houselights. And when you turn your head to the side you will have the pleasure of seeing me standing on the ropes, raising MY international championship high into the air. Colt Cooper, you are a formidable opponent and have been a fighting champion, and I applaud you on what will be your final days as champion.. While I may respect you as a wrestler, I do not respect you as a champion and I most certainly do not respect you for being a part of the Company. The way you have handled your reign as champion has been a despicable and, unhonorable one and it makes me sick to my stomach. But I will take it upon myself to redeem the honor and the glory of the championship and bring it back to its highest pedastle and give the paying public a champion that they can be proud of, someone that they can truly get behind. The International Championship is coming home.. Back in the hands of someone who represents everything that the sVo is.. And back where it belongs, around my waist! |
