“Past Performance does not indicate Future Success” - Unknown The New Year had come and gone as they always do. DJ had spent them in lonely seclusion as he often had though this turn of the year he had so much to be resentful about. He had so much to be bitter about and so much to hate about the New Year. For starters he had failed to gain the International Title from Colt Cooper. Things could not get much worse.. or so DJ had though until he saw that Jon Page was putting things into perspective for DJ. DJ had flown directly back to Las Vegas after finding out he was going to be a part of Roulette Night. This was done so that he could keep a closer eye on SVO. Colt Cooper had proven that he had improved vastly since starting in SVO. He had proven he had it in him to defeat DJ and more importantly he had shown the Future of Wrestling that he was vulnerable. And if there was something the Future of Wrestling could not abide by it was being shown he was vulnerable. Of course, much like prodding an already irritable rhino, provoking the Future of Wrestling was never a good idea. The cruel and selfish dark side of DJ dreamed up the day he would show Colt Cooper that one example of past success does not dictate Of course then there was Cody Williams. If the man is ok after the beating he took, which would be a shock, he might try to reclaim the title of International Champion. The man likely would refuse to accept that DJ is the real number one contender and next champion. He must have been jealous in his little world away from it all. DJ had been patient, he had waited and prepared for Cody’s return attack after his match and yet the man never came back. And now? Why had Cody decided that now would be the time he would go after the Intenrational Title? Whatever the reason if he tried to cross DJ he would teach him that DJ is better than him and the next International Champion. Then there's Chris Wrestling, the largest direct obstacle in DJ’s way at the moment. Chris Wrestling had been something of a thorn in DJ’s side since he turned on him and the man had never stopped babbling about whatever achievements he felt he had earned. The man was good at weaseling his way into things he had no right to be in and he was well acquainted with the political movements of Sanctioned Violence Organization. Chris Wrestling might squawk but the Future of Wrestling would not hear it. Chris Wrestling would have to be put down, he would have to been shown for the flawed man he was and broken before the SVO crowd so that people would not forget that it was DJ who made Chris Wrestling a Tag Team Champion. And it would be The Future of Wrestling DJ who would be taking the International Title, not Chris Wrestling. And that after their second One on One match it would be DJ who would claim victory once again. But there was another player in this Opera, another oddity that DJ had not actually thought of, been prepared for. A man who had been sending him messages about the potential decision he would be making . A man who had been kind enough to offer some rather interesting plans too. A man neither DJ nor the Future of Wrestling would have ever considered as an ally. And so the plots circle and turn with each day. - The Desk of The Future of Wrestling DJ, Las Vegas The scene opened to DJ dressed in a sharp black suit seated behind a large oak desk with his name plate on the front of it. On either side of the desk were mini-flags with the Corporation National Flag pleasantly displayed. On the wall behind DJ was a massive portrait of himself glowering down at the person in the seat rather like a hateful reminder of his own self loathing. DJ's face was clean shaven, his hair trimmed and his eyes focused. He was leaning forward with his arms crossed over the desk, a very authoritarian feel about the whole thing. His distinct scowl marked his face and only increased the lines that ran across his forehead and at the corners of his mouth further added to his aging appearance. Though a man of only 34 years old he looked as if he had lived two lifetimes, several small white scars marking his forehead and cheeks. “Good evening, The Future of Wrestling DJ, has decided to take a few moments to address a few concerns I know some people have had concerning the status of our great group. I am here to ensure you that the security of our great group as well as its integrity, respect and glory remains one of the top issues of my administration, not that you have a lot of say in the matter.” He smirked for a moment as he let flash his long white teeth that gave DJ that extremely predatorial look. “There have been rumors, as I am sure you know, of the suspected return of one.. Jon Page, former Owner of SVO. It is important during these trying times, to remember who we are and what we stand for. On the last note his face took on a darker expression, his chin dipping down slightly as he scowled deeply again. He took a moment to reach across his desk to grab a small crystal pitcher filled with water. He poured himself a small glass and picked it up, taking a sip of the water before clearing his throat. “Now, people of SVO, there is the fleeting matter of Chris Wrestling. You see in order to ensure our rightful place at the top of the Sanctioned Violence Organization's highest position we must face a few second thoughts. When he betrayed us he showed his true colors and they ran the color of yellow and green. The colors of the Coward and of Envy. Envy of all that we had, all this great group has. And of the Coward, too fearful to engage us straight on. To afraid to face the wrath of our Corporate nation! But, my friends, his time is running short. He may feel that your Future of Wrestling will test him but I say this now, the only thing that shall be tested at Showdown is my patience." He lifted one of his hands and thrust it forward as if an element of finality was driven forth by it. DJ frowned deeply again before he folded his hands together on his desk. "Once again we find ourselves in a perilous situation, my fellow men. Once again we find ourselves against the wall and sliding into darker lands. From the North, Colt Cooper. From the South, Chris Wrestling. From the East, Jon Page. From the West, the lingering Cody Williams. Against these threats we are not alone in the darkness. Against these enemies we are not abandoned." He opened his desk and pulled out a note which he held up toward the camera. It seemed to be hand written though it was not nearly close enough for the viewer to tell what it said on it. More over it was impossible to see who could have written it. "Now before I part I want you to remember that at Showdown your Future of Wrestling will elect to address the Ambassador of Las Vegas, Mr. Matt Anderson, about whether or not DJ will have his much deserved rematch at Destiny. This historic event should not be missed by any of my loyal fans in fact, it is mandatory on pane of Death.." DJ lifted a small piece of paper with tiny writing on it save for a large red wax Seal with a D on it and his signature. "..It's the Law! Ha-Ha-HA! So Good Night, Imagine That!" The scene fades to black as once again patriotic music plays. The Seal of The Corporation, which is black with a large red C emblazoned upon the center, is all that remains. -End- |
