Saturday

9:17 AM

Location: Unknown...

He woke up that morning feeling...strange. He did not feel bad, nor did he feel particular good, everything just seemed...weird. He sat up in bed and looked around the room, nothing was familiar to him at all, and it slowly occured to him, that he had no idea where he was. He was wearing a pair of black jeans, and a dark red shirt with all the buttons buttoned, except the top two. Since he was fully dressed, and alone in the room, he felt it was a pretty sure bet that he had spent the night alone here. The room looked to be a pretty standard motel room, with a bed, a small, old television, and not a whole lot more. He took a deep breath, as he slowly got to his feet, walked over to the window and pushed the curtains aside to look outside, which confirmed his suspicions; He was indeed inside a motel room. There was a small parking lot outside, with only two cars parked there, with a couple of rooms on the other side of the parking lot as well. He closed the curtain again and walked away from the window, and just then it hit him; Not only didn't he have clue where he was, but he had no memory what so ever, of what the hell he had been doing last night.

A quick search of the room revealed nothing of interest, it was just your basic motel room, and there was nothing in the room that could give him any indication as to what had been going on the night before, infact, there was nothing in the room at all, except the stuff that belonged to the motel. No clothing, no items and no possessions, neither of his own, or anybody elses. And that, in itself, was kind of strange; Why would he check into a motel, alone, and without bringing anything with him, except the clothes he was wearing?

He mulled it over in his head, as he checked the pockets in his pants for his wallet, or possibly his cell phone, but he found neither.

Rey:" Crap..."

He said to himself, as he realized he was in a bit of a jam. Still, it did not take up much space in his head, as his thoughts were consumed with trying to remember just how the hell he got here. He was unsuccessful though, as hard as he tried to remember, nothing was coming back to him. It was not a comfortable feeling, not knowing where he was, what he had done...he had to remember.

He did another quick search of the room, making sure that he had not missed anything the first time around, and when he was satisfied that he had not, he opened the door and headed outside. It was a somewhat chilly morning, considering the time of year, and the sky was cloudy. He looked at the cars again, and checked the plates, but neither car was familiar to him, and neither was the surroundings, so he still had no idea where he was. He decided to look around the place, trying to find the front desk area, as he figured there would be someone there, who could answer some of his questions. It was a small motel, so it did not take him long to find the front desk area, and he opened the door and walked inside. There were no one behind the desk, but he noticed a small bell on the desk, and quickly hit the bell with his right hand, making it ring. Seconds later, an elderly man appeared from the back room.

Man:" Yes? Can I help you, Sir?"

Rey focused hard on the man's face, trying to remember if he had seen him before, but once again he came up blank.

Rey:" You know me?"

He asked, in his usual low voice.

Man:" You're number seven, right?"

Rey:" Number seven?"

He asked, confused.

Man:" Yes...room number seven?"

Rey:" Oh..."

He said, as he realized he had not even thought to check what room number he was in.

Rey:" I think so..."

Man:" I am sure of it, we don't have that many people staying here right now."

He said, in a very kind, warm tone of voice.

Rey:" Look...I need to ask you a few questons, some of it might seem a little off, but I need you to answer them."

Man:" I'll do my best."

He said, with a smile.

Rey:" How long have I been staying here?"

Man:" What?"

Ry:" Just answer the question...please?"

Man:" Well all right then, you checked in last night."

Rey:" Last night?"

He asked, as the man nodded.

Rey:" And I was alone?"

Man:" No, you came in with a young woman."

Rey:" Really?..."

He said, before pausing as he processed the information.

Rey:" You wouldn't happen to know her name?"

Man:" I am afraid not."

Rey:" Describe her..."

Man:" Well let's see...dark hair, 5'3" - 5'4" maybe...wore all dark clothes."

Rey:" Hmm...and you have never seen her before?"

Man:" No, Sir, I have not."

Rey paused to think again, he had no recollection of this woman, and the man's description did not sound familiar at all. Jade had dark hair, but the rest of the description did not fit her at all, and why would she had spent last night with him anyway?

Rey:" Okay...tell me what happened last night, when we checked in."

Man:" Well you walked in...asked for a room..."

Rey:" I asked? Or she did?"

Man:" Well she did, come to think of it, she did all of the talking."

Rey:" Hmm...go on."

Man:" Well like I said, she asked for a room, paid for one night, I gave her the key and you walked off."

Rey:" What time was this?"

Man:" Around 10, 10:30 maybe..."

Rey:" And you didn't see her again?"

Man:" I did actually, I saw her leaving your room about five minutes after you left here. She got in a car and drove off."

Rey:" And that was the last time you saw her?"

He asked, as the man nodded his head. Rey paused again, to think.

Rey:" Did I seem... drunk, or otherwise out of it last night?"

Man:" No...but like I said, she did all the talking, so I couldn't really say for sure."

He said, as Rey nodded.

Man:" May I ask, Sir, what is this all about?"

Rey:" Is there anything else you remember? Anything at all?"

He asked, intentionally ignoring the man's question.

Man:" No, sorry. Unless..."

Rey:" Unless what?"

Man:" Well I am not sure about this, and I don't want you to take this the wrong way..."

Rey:" Just spit it out!"

He said, somewhat angrily.

Man:" Well there's a club down the street, I think you may have come from there."

Rey:" Why?"

Man:" Well because it's a club for...you know, people like you and her."

Rey:" What do you mean?"

Man:" You know...goths."

Rey:" Goths? I'm not a goth...or gothic...whatever."

Man:" Oh sorry! It's just that...with her all dressed in black, and you looking like you do...like I said, I am sorry. It was clearly my mistake."

He said, as Rey remained silent, still somewhat pissed off that he called him a goth. After a few seconds, he broke the silence.

Rey:" Where is this club?"

Man:" It's just up the street there, out the door and to your right. Just keep walking until you see it, you can't miss it."

Rey nodded his head, turned around, and silently left the building and walked back outside. Talking to the guy at the desk had not brought about many answers, instead it had only brought about more questions. He knew a little bit about what had happened last night, but not much. There were several pieces missing from the puzzle, and he was determined to fill in the blanks. And since this club, as thin of a lead as it was, it was still the only lead he had, so he decided to check it out...

Saturday

9:51 AM

Location: The Asylum...

The old man had told the truth, the club was not far from the motel, no more than a ten minute walk or so, and just as he had said, it was impossible to miss it, as a large neon sign with the name of the club on it, was hanging above the entrance. It was a two story building with two entrances , a front door facing the street, and a side door leading out to an alley next to the club. No doubt this place was abuzz with life once the sun goes down, but as it stood there in the light of day, it looked deserted...like a ghost house, completely abandoned. And even though he had no clear memory of ever being here, he felt a certain connection to the place, enough so that he was determined to get inside, even if nobody was inside. He was certain that there would be answers, in one form or another, inside the walls of this dreary looking building.

He headed for the entrance and turned the handle on the door, to his surprise it was unlocked. He had not thought someone would be inside at this time of day, maybe his luck was finally turning? He pushed the door open and walked inside, as dark and dreary as the building had looked on the outside, it was nothing compared to the inside, where the dreariness was in full force. A big metal gate greeted him as soon as he entered the building, and once he walked through that, it was nothing but dark colors everywhere he looked, chains and cages where all over the place, and even during the day time, the place was very dark, as all the windows were covered. As he walked to the middle of the room and looked around, he could not help but wonder what the hell he would have been doing here last night, as this was definately not his kind of place at all. Still, he felt an eerie sense of familiarity as he looked around the place, but nothing was clear to him.

As he continued walking around the club, a certain beat starting playing over and over again in his head, but it was not enough for him to identify the song, but much like everything else, it did not really seem familiar to him. A voice was then heard, coming from above.

??:" We're closed."

He turned around and saw a young man coming down the stairs from the first floor. He was dressed all in black, and he was wearing heavy makeup around his eyes.

Man:" You'll have to come back later, when we're open."

Rey:" You work here?"

Man:" I'm the owner."

Rey:" You were here last night?"

Man:" I am here every night, why?"

Rey:"...Was I here last night?"

He asked, as the man sighed.

Man:" Look I don't have time for whatever game it is you are playing."

He said, before going to show Rey the door, but Rey quickly grabbed a firm hold of his right arm.

Rey:" No games...just a few simple questions...okay?"

He asked, tightening the grip. The man nodded.

Rey:" Well all right then...now, was I here last night?"

He said, as he released his hold on the man's arm.

Man:" Look I don't know, we get alot of people in here, and I am usually upstairs most of the time anyway."

Rey:" Then you must have had someone else working here last night?"

Man:" Well yeah, obviously."

Rey:" Are they here now?"

Man" No, you'll have to come back later if you want to talk to them."

Rey:" When?"

Man:" Tonight."

Rey:" Doesn't work for me."

He said, before pausing, as he pondered the situation.

Man:" Then I don't know what to tell you, I can't help you man."

Rey:" What's upstairs?"

He asked, somewhat out of the blue.

Man:" What?"

Rey:" Upstairs...what's up there."

Man:" Just my office."

Rey nodded his head.

Man:" If there's nothing else, I really do have things to do."

Rey said nothing, but instead just turned around and walked straight for the exit. Back outside, he turned around to face the club again, just staring at the building while thoughts were running through his head. His visit to the club had not brought any answers what so ever, infact, he still did not know if he was even here last night. As he stood there, his eyes began moving towards the alley next to the club, it was almost as if the alley was calling out to him. He felt drawn to it, and eventually made his way towards it. At first sight, there was nothing unsual about the alley, just your standard alley....almost, because he suddenly noticed something on the asphalt pavement behind a dumpster, something that looked like dried blood. Was this the answer that he felt he would find here? Was this proof that he was here last night? The questions were piling up in his head, he began hearing that beat in in head again, and he started having memory flashes. Everything started spinning, his mind overwhelmed by everything that was going on in there, until....

**"Flashback"**

Suddenly everything was dark. He was now standing on the street, looking at the alley. It was nighttime now, and he kept hearing these thuds, repeating over and over again. He began walking further into the alley, and he realized that the sounds he was hearing, the thuds, were coming from behind a dumpster a little further down. As he kept walking, he began seing movement behind the dumpster, but he could not make much out. He kept walking and walking, until he was finally standing right next to the dumpster, and there he saw it...a man, dressed in black jeans and a red shirt, punching away on some helpless individual, who was crouched and holding up his hands, trying to defend himself. But it was of little use, the blows just kept landing, one after the other, again and again, each one more vicious and brutal than the other.

??:" Enough!"

Finally the relentless assault stopped, as a female voice commanded it. The man who just seconds ago was viciously assaulting the other man, was now just standing there, completely motionless and calm, with his back to Rey. As the man slowly turned around and walked away, Rey saw, to his surprise and shock, that the man was himself! He watched himself walk away, in the direction the voice came from, but he could not see anybody there. He turned his head to look at the poor victim of this brutal assault, his face had been beaten into a bloody pulp, and almost unrecognizable, with blood spilling down on the asphalt....

** End "flashback"**

When he came to again, he found himself laying on the hard asphalt in the alley. He was a bit dazed and confused, but he quickly regained his senses and got back to his feet. What was that? Was it a memory? Was he beginning to remember? Or was it simply a case of an overactive imagination, sparked by the sight of, what he believed to be blood, on the pavement? Was it fact or fiction? Truth or lie? Once again, he had come seeking answers, only to find more questions, more twists and turns, more uncertainness.

There was no way to be sure if what he had just experienced was a real memory, or mere fantasy. Either way, he decided the best course of action was to find his way back home, and then maybe, if he was really lucky, he could forget all about this. His burning desire to find out what had happened the night before, had been replaced with an almost desperate hope to never find out what had happened, fearing that what he had just seen, would turn out to be the truth...

Saturday

1:03 PM

Location: Rey Rosario's apartment...

Luckily he had not been that far away from home, and he had managed to hitch a ride, since he had no cash on him. Back in familiar surroundings, he was once again sitting in one of the chairs in the middle of the room, contemplating the day's events. He was truly horrified by what he had seen in his vision, or flashback, or whatever it was. He told himself that, even if it were true, there had to be more to the story than what he had seen. He was no angel by any means, but he refused to believe that he would assault someone like that, for no reason what so ever. And that voice, the female voice he heard...as much as he did not want to think it, it tracked with what he had been told by the guy at the motel, that he was with a woman. Of course, it could just as easily be that piece of information, that caused his imagination to add a woman to the mix, if it was indeed just his imagination. Thoughts were once again piling up in his head, again causing him to feel dazed, confused and lightheaded, when suddenly...

**Flashback**

Friday

8:08 PM

Location: Rey Rosario's apartment...

He was sitting alone in his apartment, in the same chair he always sat in, as he was contemplating the upcoming Showdown, and the roulette matches that was scheduled to take place there. The stakes were high, and after losing to Nero at the previous Showdown, thoughts of walking out of Showdown as a winner, was not far from his mind. He got up from the chair and pressed the record button the the small camera that was positioned to face him, he had a few words for whoever was his upcoming opponent...

Rey:" You know..."

He said, as he sat back down in the chair.

Rey:" I find this upcoming roulette match to be quite interesting. I mean, all walks of life will be represented that night, from the demented and tormented DJ, to the egomaniacal, self-centered BBD. DVD and Asesino, who have been trying hard to make a name for themselves. The new guys, Cid Black, Loki Synn and Roberto Cruz...the returning Locon and many others.

And then there's me...the outsider...the outcast...the drifter who doesn't quite belong anywhere, the guy nobody believes in."

He laughed.

Rey:" The fact is, this night is about power. The power to choose which path you want to be on, power to not only choose your own fate, but to influence it. And surely the winner of this matches, will prove their dominance on SVO. Last week I lost to Nero, a man who is generally considered to be one of the very best up and comers around here, but if I were to go on and win this week, it would surely go a long way towards establishing myself as the one true contender to the SVO Title, the man who will take the SVO Championship and elevate it, make it something much more than it has ever been before. Being the SVO Champion equals sacrifice, and without the willingness to make sacrifices, you will never become the SVO Champion. Because that is what the SVO Championship is...it is sacrifice. Sacrificing your body, sacrificing your soul...and sacrificing your own well being, when necessary, to get the job done. No longer will I allow this misconception to stand unopposed, no longer will I allow anyone to look down on the SVO Championship. And when I win at Showdown, I will prove that I am indeed the next SVO Champion, not Samuel Amos, not El Locon, not DJ, but Rey Rosario, who is the top guy on SVO."

He said, before pausing shortly.

Rey:" You see, this match...it is just another test, another chance to take the next step towards my ultimate destiny. It is another chance for me to get one over on the self-absorbed morons that roam the plains of Sanctioned Violence Organization. So blinded by their love for themselves, that they never even notice the changes around them. I have been a multiple champion here, and yet people still see me as the same guy I was, back when I first came here to SVO. Well Sunday night might just be the night, when the truth finally smacks them across the face and opens their eyes to it! Sunday night may just be the night, where people like Colt Cooper, DVD and Asesino are exposed for what they really are; worthless! It may just be the night, where The Rodriguez Brothers come to regret ever signing on with Sanctioned Violence Organization. It may just be the night, where Nero understands that, despite turning quite a few heads with his performances so far, he still has a long way to go! It just might also be the night, where BBD realizes that, what happened last time we faced, wasn't a fluke...but a fact! A fact that I'm better than him!"

He paused again, as he leaned in towards the camera.

Rey:" And maybe...just maybe...Sunday night will be the night, when people FINALLY stop lying to themselves, and START seeing me for what I truly am...THE NEXT SVO Champion!!!"

He said, as he leaned in to turn the camera off, but is interrupted by a knock on the door. He turned his head and looked towards the door, with a puzzled look on his face. Another knock is heard, and he slowly got up and walked to the door. As he approached the door, yet another knock was heard, and he opened the door...

**End flashback**

When he came to again, he was still sitting in the chair. He looked around the room for a bit, trying to get his wits about him again, and still confused about what had just happened. It had happened again, another flashback...or was it another fantasy? Was this his memory coming back to him? Were these truly memories of what had happened the night before? As he looked around the apartment, he thought to himself that there was no way for him to be sure....but then his eyes locked on the camera that was still positioned in front of him. If what he had just experienced really was a memory, then it would still be recorded on the camera. He got up and walked over to the camera. He messed around with it for a bit, before hitting the play button...

**On the camera**

Rey:" You know..."

He said, as he sat back down in the chair.

Rey:" I find this upcoming roulette match to be quite interesting. I mean--

**End**

He quickly turned the camera off...it WAS an actual memory. Now he knew that, this part at least, was true. And while nothing was for sure, he knew that it could not help but increase the chances of everything else he had "remembered", being true as well. It was an uncomfortable thought, and if indeed all of it was true, there was still one question that stood out, almost screaming at him inside his mind.....why?
